    Damn!!!that 8V71 sure sounds good especially on a 35footer

      It does sound better and faster on a 35foot RTS than an 40 footer, I grew up on Both 35/40 foot RTS with this engine at Lansing, Michigan and Gary/Hammond, Indiana.

    Man I swear this sounds just like MARTA 1978 Grumman Flxibles plus the Grummans that were in Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. Good old memories I tell you :-D

    Hmmm love this bus but that's not an 8V71 in there. It's a 6V92 repower. All 8V71 have heavy deep gurbles to their sound. And you will be very hard pressed to find an RTS with an original 8V in it.

    • @jorgefigueroa4437
      @jorgefigueroa4437 5 лет назад

      Not 6v92, maybe you refer a 8V92 engine prototype, never came, but fits a repowered unit. The 1984 Flxible's offers the 8V92 prototype unit

    oh yeah, I stand corrected!!!! The exhaust plumbing and whinny tranny really covers the throattyness of the 8V71!! Kudos

    What ever happened to these? You don't see them anymore. I see all the other old ones still pushing along but I don't see these ever. Hmm

    This unit also fits the Detroit 6v71, 6v92 and the Series 50 engine perfectly for repowering purposes.

      @kesando84 5 лет назад +1

      Jorge Figueroa yup. All NYC MTA RTSs that are left are running Series50 engines. Haven’t seen one with an 8V71 in a long time. The 6Vs were quite common though

      @@kesando84 except the demo 200 in 1979 is an 8v71 RTS 03
