    When demand is high and supply is low, price goes up.
    For some reason, I feel like Nigeria is a goldmine waiting to happen for world-class professionals

    But this shouldn't be a problem. We have the population and very smart young minds here. But the problem is we deliberately deny people the opportunity to study medicine here.

    • @Pianoinsitu
      @Pianoinsitu 3 месяца назад +1

      How? Please...

    • @okoangel5208
      @okoangel5208 3 месяца назад

      @@Pianoinsituthe high score in jamb and post jamb exam, regulated number of admissions, over reliance on grammar and certificate at expense of skill. Abroad there are bridge courses and apprenticeship programmes to encourage people to qualify to study. The high school fees also deprive people who are intelligent but poor while rich people with average intelligence get slots. Some ended up not passing and drop off to another course later

    • @Pianoinsitu
      @Pianoinsitu 3 месяца назад +1

      @@okoangel5208 if you compare admission requirements for medicine abroad to that of Nigeria, you'll realise Nigerian requirement is quite easy. Talking about fees, Nigerian medical schools are one of the cheapest in the world. People dropping off the course is part of what makes it a professional course. Now can Nigerian government do better? Yes. Most medical schools in Nigeria are ill-equipped, so they can start from there. Secondly, another way to encourage young bright people to study medicine is by paying and taking good care of the medical doctors they already have like other countries. In so doing, senior drs won't have to leave the country and medical students will have lecturers.

    • @Maras_Channel_talkshow
      @Maras_Channel_talkshow 3 месяца назад

      @@PianoinsituI agreed that it is quite cheap compared to other countries but is not affordable to average Nigerian. Other countries gives student loans and grants, offer bridge courses and apprenticeship. The number of Nigerians that needs to be trained is still very large. No matter the equipment and better paying of older ones, the number of trained will still be a joke compared to our over population. More people should be admitted and trained. Yes, some will drop out but sometimes we score English neglecting skill forgetting that English is majorly not our first language. Chinese study medicine in their language. The rate of failure is not necessary not understanding or being able to study or do the work but difficulty in relating with a second language

    • @Pianoinsitu
      @Pianoinsitu 3 месяца назад

      @@Maras_Channel_talkshow i didn't want to bring in the student loan stuff. Students pay their loans after graduation and getting a job in foreign countries. In Nigeria, how long do you think a doctor would have to work before paying off his loans with this meager paycheck??
      About ppl failing out cus of English?? That is not correct. First to get admission into Nigerian universities a minimum Credit in English is required. This is not solely applicable to medicine but many courses in Nigerian universities.

    Every rear condition is always concluded by my members as witches and wizards. I had a rear condition known as Addison disease, for over 10yrs it could not be diagnosed by doctors. I was tagged with all sort of names I was deserted by family and friends, until I got a new job in that state. It was the critical stage of the illness. I almost died. My new company invested in me sort experts for me and finally found a doctor that diagnosed it. Just one tablet tho not common, got me back to normal. Our doctors are horrible
