@@user-nd2ej4pk3cMost Muslim countries encourage female education.
Indonesia and Egypt are encouraging people to have two children as part of the measures to reduce poverty. Well in Nigeria, family planning isn't strongly promoted and what makes matters worse is that the population growth rate exceeds the he economic growth rate this means the country is becoming poorer.
Doesn't Nigeria have an army? Why aren't they being used EFFECTIVELY in Niger state?

While i don't condone the actions of the state and their decision to marry off these young girls instead of educating them, how is the north dragging Nigeria down? How? Has every nigerian president been a northerner, who intentionally keeps the region underdeveloped? Are our governors and other constituents not keeping the baditry alive in the region? I dont see FG soaking all its resources in the north that could keep dragging this country "down". If that's the case, if the north is a back water region of the country, then the south should look something like Dubai or Disneyland right now. Even the US as great as it is has many states that look like barren wastelands filled with uneducated residents compared to places like California, New York etc. Yet despite everything the US will still take pride in everyone of its citizens, come hell or high water.
You can sit there and continue to complain and point fingers at each other on whose to blame for the state that Nigeria is in, but remember out of Nigeria we are all one people. Nobody cares which region you come from or your ethnicity. We are all one nation. Let's try to work together. Stop putting the wronv people in positions of power and then you will see real progress 🙏🏽

Honestly Adeola, if she wants the best interest of these girls, what we would do is ask them, "if they really want to get married" or want to go to school " or learn a trade or skill of some sort.. their rights as a human being is what should be considered, they are not objects without feelings you know. Marrying them off won't solve any problem rather it will reproduce a cycle of such again and again, the same reason why we have them around in the first place will be multiplied over and over.
Am just tired of this country sef. 😢

Why didn't the so called honorable think of empowering the girls like the women minister ?
Adeola made a good point about the Northern part being the way they are because the girls or women that would become mothers to raise generations are not empowered trained to be who they need to be , its going to be a cycle of mediocrity.
I just pray we will have more people like the minister whose aim is seeking for the good not selfishness.

What a shame!!! We are in a malady.
We're raising a bunch of lazy people, this is what the speaker and imams should have done first not the minister of women affairs taking a lead.
Marriage is not a ticket to respect, we must break this religious improvishment.

This is so unfair to these women. Education is best thing you can offer anybody especially women, if women are educated they will educate their children. Years ago when Oprah Winfrey asked President Mandela of South Africa what she can do to help South Africa , Mandela told Oprah Winfrey that help educate the young women they will educate their children , so this man what these young girls to get married and destroy their future God is watching
