Northern Nigeria will continue to remain poor, because they give priority to Islamic culture and not education. The women are not economically empowered to engage in any endeavor that will challenge their male counterparts. Economic empowerment coupled with education is a must for the women.

I’m from Niger state and I actually stay there. The house member helps pay for orphanages wedding quietly. Some girls came to ask for help to get married in mass and the malams and even lawyers were called to make sure everything was on legal side contributions were also gotten. My point is it wasn’t just something they woke up n decided to “forced” to marry. Those women actually “asked” . I say leave that which does not concern you.
