    Many will like it, many will hate it. With that being said, Lindy is the epitome of Buffalo. No one would want a cup for this city more than him. He definitely knows how to coach and he will get the most out of his players. You don’t perform? You don’t play. He brings passion and can be hot headed. The Sabres-Ottawa brawl where he was about to go after Brian Murray is legendary. Sure, it’s nostalgic but what a story it would be if Lindy brings respectability back to the Sabres..can you imagine if he got the Sabres to the cup? This city would go nuts..

    • @danjay7
      @danjay7 25 дней назад +1

      I don't think many actually hate it and most are supportive of the hire. Lindy's track record and history with the Sabres speaks for itself. He took two different teams to levels we haven't seen since his departure. And the fact that he still owns a house and calls Buffalo home speaks volumes. We will NEVER have to question if our coach is 100% invested or not as Lindy wants a cup in Buffalo juust as much if not more than most fans. When you take into account his lengthy NHL career, spanning multiple decades... for him to say that his biggest regret ever was not winning one for RJ really says a lot. I liked Granato but he seems more suited as a developmental coach or an AHL coach as I think he lacked the ability to take the team to that next level. Lindy will bring accountability, structure and discipline. Also, the fact that he mentioned improving on faceoffs in his presser, shows me that the gears are already moving and he has been following the team even while employed in other markets. The guy is the 5th winningest coach in NHL history and that doesn't happen by chance.

    Old Sabres fans love him, going back to his rookie season. He wasn't the biggest or toughest but he had a presence, aggressive and never backed down. Maybe he can help find at least 2 players like him, because right now only Cozens has that spirit.

      Brett Murray down in Rochester is a very good player like that except he has size to go with it. Cecconi is a physical defensive defense man who also has offensive talent but only uses it at smart times. Let a guy try to cut in front of our net with the puck... Cecconi will sit them down.

Get ready Sabres cuz practice is about to get a whole lot harder but in the end ... playoffs

    Joe, I don't know if you were old enough to ever experience a Lindy Ruff led team. RJ retired and passed, and now we are bringing back another well known piece during a lot of RJ's iconic calls. I see this as a win/win because all the fans know Ruff well, and will likely do a 180 and be excited going into next season. The other win is the young team have no idea as they have never played under him. So this is a "new" coach to them. This is an absolute win for the Sabres.

    I love lindy getting back home!
    But my concern is that there is so much presure now on the team, fanbase, management and organisation that it also feels like a very dangerous final grasp some how.
    The sabres need to make the play offs, i mean this is it.
    and i would feel very sorry for Lindy if it doesnt gonne work out for him or for the team.
    For a true passionated and dedicated amazing coach Lindy doesnt deserve to end his carreer with faillure and dissapointment with the team he is so connected to.
    You just dont fire him twice, he dont deserve that. But hey thats how the world works and we all know that.
    I dont want to be to negative or disrespect the choice of bringing back Lindy but it just concerns me a little.
    But mayb all those circumstances, the situation were all in, the hunger and desperation for results is just what we need to get fired up and show some good old blue and gold hockey again!
    Lets go Buffalo!

    This franchise deserves every bad thing that happens to it. Let’s bring in a 65 year old who underachieved with Dallas. And then went backwards with a young loaded offensive team this year, that was lousy defensively (yes I know their goaltending wasn’t good either). So let’s bring him in to try & take a young team with loads of raw offensive talent, with goaltending questions & who also stinks defensively, to turn things around! Makes perfect sense logically…😂. I give it 2 - 3 years & Tage Thompson will be wanting away from this dumpster fire. Just like Eichel, O’Reilly, etc.
