Wow! Two alcohol drinks in a video, that's so chill! Glad you are enjoying your day and I enjoyed the Nishiki market virtual tour! Love this market too. Mint chocolate is an acquired taste :) just saying! haha! Love it too!
A change from your usual Universal Studios, Disney etc. Appreciate it. As I said in my comment to your previous video, I understand why you do what you do, but really appreciate a change of scenery.
Oh, wow! I enjoyed your street food hopping adventure of yummy shrimps, scallops, sake and draft beer, too!😊It was fun to explore the pleasant yet busy atmosphere at Nishiki market for Kyoto's culinary delights.😊
Another great video. I am glad that you have found jummy food while strolling along that famous Kyoto market place. It was certainly your pleasure to eat comfortabely and relaxed in the really neatly kept restaurants under AC. A little amount of sake and craft beer added to your happiness and best mood. Great idea to show us those tigny Kyoto streets with charming atmosphere. Night shots of Osaka around the station were also suprime. Take care due to typhoon and let it pass before your shinkansen ride back to Tokyo. Looking forward to next adventures. GAAOOO!
I loved Nishiki Market when I visited Kyoto in February 2019. Thank you so much for this, it brings back wonderful memories. Can't wait to return to Japan; beautiful country and beautiful people.
Let’s go to Nishiki Market, Kyoto, 3:13 Very creative rice crackers and cheese ice cream 😯😋👍. 4:27 Wow! for me, I would eat two skewers of this shrimp 😄🤤😋! 8:26 Various fish cakes and unagi😋! 8:47 I really like the various Japanese pickles, they are delicious 😍😋! 11:50 perfect snack 🦐🍺😉👍! 15:00 ~GaO~👏! 16:03 Very fresh scallop with ikura, luscious😋! 19:08 The old store is still preserved, very good! 19:58 very nice with misting spray at the bus stop, a necessary tool for summer 🌬️☀️! 22:50 The trees on both sides are diverse, and the way are extremely clean, scenery are gradually fresh. 24:25 chocolate mint matches with coffee jelly meccha Oishiii , I like mint flavor, it tastes ice cold, super delicious😋👍, yes ! when I smelled the strong smell of mint leaves, I refused, but I can accept it when making desserts 👌😄! Thank you so much for Rion’s Street Foods Tour at Kyoto Nishiki Market video, watching all kinds of food is irresistible 😋🤝.
I love the adventure! So relaxing to watch after a long day. The gatchapons were super cute, especially the usagi ones. You should have gotten one since it brings back such good memories of your childhood. Please be safe during the typhoon and rest up. I'm estatic to see you are enjoying filming and your confidence blooming with each video 😊Let's keep walking! Keep it up. 153k subs!!! I'm rooting for you, Rion 🎉
Haha, seeing that shooting game again & again, I think it’s a sign… for you to make a video about it. 😁 I didn’t like mint at all growing up (and the only toothpaste flavor my parents would get was minty 😫), but after I tried the American Girl Scout cookies “Thin Mints,” chocolate & mint is the perfect combo! 🤎💚 But yea, I never ate the actual mint leaf. It’s usually just a garnish/decoration. 😊
Stay safe out there, Rion! Keep making great content. I look on RUclips everyday to see if you have a new video up and I get so excited when there is one. Thank you for being honest and for always showing us new places. I can’t wait to visit Japan in September and I really hope we run into ya! Keep Walking!
This brings nostalgia. I miss Kyoto. I miss Nishiki market. I was there last March until May for Japanese language school. Too bad I didn’t have the 100yen sake. If we go back there, I’ll make sure I’ll try that.
Hey Rion, long time subscriber. Just wanted to wish you well, and I hope you and your family stay dry and comfortable through the typhoon. Best of luck!
And hey, since everyone in the thread seems to be foodies, do a Supertamade video at midnight sometime! I think you did one years ago, but 30% off! 😂😂😂. I think you’d agree it would be nice to show some bentos or quick side dishes, and the locals who buy their stuff. Izumiya or Life would be cool too! But you have a way bigger viewer base now, and it could be nice to see an update!
Just say Mahal ko kayo! Filipino sa gawapong gangyan sisikat ka😊pero pinag mamalake mo Ang Bansa mo Muna Bago Ang iba I am so so so proud of you😊keep it up
It’s like I’m re-watching my trip! I ate at the place where you had sake and had the wagyu gyoza at the other. Love Nishiki Market. The vendor who roasts Hojicha is phenomenal. And my kids dropped some serious cash at the Gachapon place. I took that train a few times as well! Thank you so much Rion!!
Your attitude is wonderful,I’m 68 years old and I go to Kyoto once a year. I love Japan so much and your videos are down to earth just like you! Thank you!
Rion, are you planning to do any walking tours? 🙂I think that would be a fun idea. I would certainly appreciate something like that for my next trip to Japan!
When I went to Nishiki Market, it was specifically to visit Aritsugu, an 18th generation knife shop which was founded in 1560. I bought a chef's knife there which I use regularly. If you ever go there, make sure you bring cash, since they don't (or didn't a few years ago) accept cards.
Hi,Rion.. I Like your blog ,by the way we just come recently in Japan with my family we went to Osaka Kyoto and back to Tokyo we stay 15 days at Inter Continental Tokyo bay ..Japan is the best Country for me so ,we went there twice unlike in the other countries ,Although most Japanese people do not speak in English but they are vey kind and hospitable specially us tourist I’m very happy and my family too ,we’ve been in Europe and the UK many times but I really want Japan ❤and my Family too as well ..I’m your followers from Doha,Qatar
What a really entertaining video and a significant one to me. We are coming to Japan in 3 weeks time ant the countrys food industry will be facing a huge challenge in the shape of my wife. While I love to try the local food wherever we go she is strictly a western cuisine diner in particular UK cuisine. What I am hoping for is she will throw caution to the wind and try the street food which I cant wait to taste and after watching this I am a bit more optimistic. Great viewing!
Hi Rion another great video to add to your list of eating walking adventures. I totally got jealous of you eating my favourite flavour of mint ice that looked delicious but funny how you then found a super parfait after you had the other ice oh well Always next time to try it . Rion do you have an view's on the price increase of 70 %for the jr rail pass.
love osaka so much. unfortunately, can't say the same for kyoto. the last time i was there for a day trip we left earlier than scheduled. too bad the ktc tools museum isn't open on sundays, even so we can't buy tools for souvenirs.
Typhoon now but after this would be better! I just filmed typhoon day, hopefully I can publish the video soon, it was really interesting in many ways. pls look forward to it😊
Thanks for sharing Nishiki Market with us! It's so fun to see all the food~ Personally, I like exploring the side streets. They tend to be quieter and sometimes you can find interesting things. Like the old sewing machine just sticking out on a ledge. I'm not a big fan of mint, so I avoid it. Small rant about getting cash abroad: Years ago, most American banks allowed you to use a debit card at ATMs abroad without an additional fee. Now only a few banks offer that, mine doesn't, so I have to order (pre-purchase) foreign currency to get a decent rate. Kind of a hassle >.
wow Jalapeni beeing to spicy for you oO? I do know someone with some kind of disorter who also says bellpepper is to spicy but for someone withouth this ... I think it's great how friendly you are to your fans of your video in public
Now, anytime I'm outside and it's nice I think to myself "what a beautiful day!" I hear it in Rions voice in my head 😂.
Great video Rion! I might visit Nishiki Market on my trip after seeing your video. Also congrats on 153000 subscribers. Let's Keep Walking! GAOOOO 🦁
It’s worth it. Great food

Eating & drinking your way through Nishiki Market sounds like a fun day!
