I picked up a yard sale TC-:42c1 and got the 7 blink code which changed to 6 when the SC cables were unhooked. Bug was the flat cable going to the SC board. The set had gotten wet and the flat cable connections had corroded. Thanks for flagging us on the 7 to 6 blink tip.
You have to check out page 74 to 76 of the guide in the description. That covers 10 blinking lights problem. I would start by checking the SD card slot for any problems/metal objects shorting out the board. basically follow the chart on page 76. Let me know how you make out.
Have the same failure on the same generation TV (TC46PC2). Ran the same test, however new board did not fix the issue. Unfortunately no way of knowing if the new board is bad or if it is another issue. Very frustrating!
Mine did the same but on a TH-P50VT30A which the flow through chart says the SC board possibility but there are other checks to do with a multimeter to make sure this is the case
I guarantee if you do a continuity test on that board you will find that it has bad IC's. With the tv unplugged hold down the power button for 10 seconds to discharge any residual power, put your DMM (digital multi meter ) on the sound marking, touch the black probe to a ground point on the SC Board ( screw ) flip up the brown ribbon cable connections for easy access and slowly run the red probe across the pins that you just uncovered. If "when" you find the pins that makes a sound, you have found a shorted IC. They are about $ 10.00 + s&h each but if you are not an experienced solderer I would not recommend trying the replacement yourself !
Mine has separate boards, not just one whole one, hoe would I go about troubleshooting each to determine which one it is? Just unplugging the other ones and testing one board at a time? Not really sure what I’m looking for
What model do you have and what part of the world do you live in? If you are in the US/Canada, it may be cost prohibitive to fix it at this time with the cost of TV's as low as they are.
Hey nice video, I have a question. I also have the 7 blinking lights and when I opened it up and disconnected the SC board, I get 8 lights instead of 6, if I'm understanding this correctly, that means the SC board is not the culprit correct? When I disconnect the SS board, it gives me 7 blinks just like before. Does that mean that it's the SS board that is faulty? I have a TCP60ST30 but apparently the "SOS blinks" indicate the same problem across all their tvs.
At 39 Seconds into the video there are several Brown Connectors to the left of the circuit board. The horizontal lines appear if those connectors are not seated right. Redo those connections and you should be in the clear.
I have FILIPS 42PF9966. hard turns in the morning when it is cool. When you turn it on after 10 to 20 attempts red light flashes me one and 8 times in succession. If you turn it off while hot and turn it on again, then fell without problems immediately. I do not know what the problem is, so please help me. Thank you.
I replaced my SC, SU, and SD boards. Power light stays on now but when I powered the tv on it made a loud pop noise. What's the problem now? Did I break something??.

+Radioman56 thats a tcon issue. also check for a inverter fail. im assuming this issue is the same for plasma as lcd but they backlight might be out make the room dark as can be a check the screen with a flashlight and see if theres faint images if not then tcon usually P.s. i know its old comment but others have this problem i just fixed a 46 in samsung with this method.

Can the firmware for the replacement board(s) be updated by connecting the TV to the internet after the replacement cards are installed?
