Artillery makes very good printers for the price they ask. I got one and I am happier with it compared to other brands for which I paid double the amount and got similar results. Plus, you can print with all materials, unlike some other printers whose bed or nozzle can't handle ABS or ASA even with an enclosure.

The hot end situation bothers me a lot as well. I am still very happy to see Artillery begin to produce printers that are good though. Previously I felt like their offerings were subpar at best.

I thought that the Elegoo Neptune Max was probably the best large format printer on the market?

Makes me glad I bought the Kobra 2 Plus instead.

I can snag a Sunlu S8/9 for sub $200… 310x310x400 and i can put Klipper on it for cheap. I’d rather do that…

I have added klipper to printers that didnt natively have it to begin with, and there are always drawbacks, but I do agree, of you only want a large build volume with klipper there are cheaper ways to do that if you're willing to put in the work. I really appreciate the aesthetics of this machine as well, so for me that is worth something. I think the biggest thing though is that because this natively runs klipper, someone that doesnt want to fight with the install has the option in a relatively budget category.

if You want a big bed printer with klipper there are options. This is not the printer you are looking for. K1 max is only 180 more and a better printer.

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  6 месяцев назад

The K1 max is a similar size and definitely a better option if the money exists, but it is significantly more expensive. K1 Max is $899 which I would definitely classify into a different price category.

@@ThePrintHouse It can be had for $699 regularly and comes with a better extruder, an enclosure etc. I am waiting for Bambu to come out with a 400x400 x 400 printer

@@jhnstuhlmiller hmm that's news to me. I am not saying you're wrong, I just hasn't seen it. I will say though, there are quite a few people on a VERY strict budget and can't even go $50 over let alone $270, so for someone that wants or needs a large printer, there is still value here. It's all very user dependent honestly, but I see your point.

"Despite its past challenges, Artillery has made a commendable comeback"
The challenge was almost for their customers. Trying to bring to life a coasty piece of sh*t
"Klipper firmware-based option for enthusiasts seeking value for money"
    Money, yes, value, no...
"the attractive price point of this printer."
With artillery, you always get far less than you paid for.
    Even the screws are garbage.
After two shitty artillery, i'm perfectly happy with my sovol.
Artillery can continue to sell machines only because some suck.... errr... influencers received a free machine to make the promo of such a shamish brand

Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus, Anycubic Kobra 2 Plus, Artillery X4 Plus = Exactly all the same with small differences. What is common: Garbage customer service, almost no replacement parts, very bad firmware implementation.

the artillery is a POS , the spool holder is crap the spools fall off,the feed system starts slipping after a few prints ( cause its plastic and not metal), the cooling fans are crap hence why it has a massive heat sink, and the cables are all sub par and will require replacement after a few prints. Good luck trying to get replacement parts for these printers. I can't believe a printer like this doesnt have auto bed levelling. I will stick with my Neptunes and Magicians which are way cheaper and have a bigger build volume.

@@matchugg547 it's the same quality as everything else I own. Ankermake is the only company with a "good" spool holder

@@ThePrintHouse mate i run a print farm it is NOT the same quaility as everything else. Yes it works great for a week or to and then because of the cost cutting where the feed mechanisim is plastic instead of metal will fail and you even said yourself you couldnt dismantle the hot end because all the screws were stripped. Why defend a product that is inferior to its competitors has no after market services and you can't buy parts for........Oh I see they gave you the printer for free!!!!
