@USERNAMEfieldempty A few months ago, John Bentley invited me to a secret Squeeze gig in London. I went to a tiny gig with about 15 people a year ago in Brighton where Chris was doing a solo rehearsal for his new release, a couple of years before that, I did the sound for Glenn for a gig in Brighton, a couple of years before that, I met Matt Irving, a couple of years before that I met Chris and about ten years ago I played a couple of songs with Glenn. Squeeze is Squeeze without Holland.
Hi Nick, I know this is a long shot but if you have this gig on vhs or dvd would it be possible to get a copy. I was at this gig, travelled from south London! Idid have a copy (taped from Ch4) but a disgruntled ex disposed of it, lighter fluid!!! Thanks Lynn
Yes, I always think that Jools looks a bit embarrassed, as if it's slightly beneath him. Not the same bloke who was making "penis jokes" on 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' just over a decade earlier!
@USERNAMEfieldempty And to say that Holland isn't a great pianist is not silly at all. Because he isn't a great pianist. He can only play in one style (boogie woogie) which he spreads over everything. Most of the keyboard work on the early Squeeze stuff was played by Glenn Tilbrook and to suggest that Holland was the most musically talented is laughable! Apart from Glenn, what about the absolutely fabulous drumming of Gilson Lavis?
@suest A recent comment from pixieland brought me back to comment on my own channel and made me realise that Jools Holland ain't: a) A great songwriter b) a great singer c) a great pianist In fact he's Squeeze's weakest link
@USERNAMEfieldempty Oh sorry....could be a misunderstaning there. You mean you specialise in shit? Well I don't. Which particular area of shit is your interest? Human? Pig? Dog? Sheep? Horse? Well I'm sure there are many sites on the internet which you can visit which cater for your interest but this ain't one of them, so fuck off! Thank you!
I was at this concert can see my young self in the audience and still have my ticket. What a great night it was..

Fantastic tune and Glen is a far superior musician to Jules Holland
