  • Today I am going to show you how I changed out my 50 tooth sprocket with a 60 tooth on my Coleman CT 200U EX Mini Bike which I call "Trail Force One". This offers a 17% increase in torque to get up those steep hills.
    I'll demonstrate the torque increase on my trails at "Hemm Roid Hill", which is way steeper than the video makes it look. I will include the Amazon Links below for the sprocket itself, the chain, etc. Thanks so much for watching and consider subscribing if you aren't already! Enjoy!

    Cool video. I own that same mini bike and I love it. I was listening and I dont think you were into the throttle very much. When climbing hills you have to wind them tight at the bottom and dont let off till you get to the top. My coleman climbs hill with ease, but im giving it plenty of throttle. When in doubt, GAS IT!

    I highly recommend a predator 212. Cheap to build, also easy to work on. If that's not an option, if you get a jet kit, cone filter, and exhaust (probably 100$ kit) you will have a noticeable increase in power in about 20 mins.

    Hopefully you keep the 60 tooth with the torque converter. That's the way to go. I run a 9/60 tooth on my Coleman. The only issue is that I have to be very careful with the throttle at slower speeds or it will wheelie out. Otherwise it's near perfect for trail riding.
    I see they raised the price on the 60 tooth. I paid $28 shipped last year for mine.

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching and the advice Deucealive. The torque converter install went well and I did keep the 60 tooth sprocket in back as you said. I am still running the stock front sprocket, which I believe is an 11 or 12 tooth. It doesn't seem as snappy out of the hole with the torque converter, but it definitely goes up the hills excellent once it engages. I think that I am going to buy a set of springs and experiment, which will be a an entire separate video. There's going to be a lot of future Trail Force One videos coming up. I try to mix it up between mountain biking, tools, mini bikes and a little home projects.. I think that the mini bike vids are the funnest ones to make.

    • @Deucealive75

      @@themostlymikeshow2582 Cool. The "standard" sprocket they come with for our 420 chains is a 10 tooth.
      Surprised the "out of the hole" isn't better with the TC. In theory the final gearing would be 16/1 (2.68 x 6). As opposed to the 12/1 with the jackshaft.

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  2 года назад

      @@Deucealive75 it seems much more powerful when it gets moving, but seems like the rpms need to get in a certain range until it engages. It then seems to slip a little. I noticed that the belt seems to be pretty slack. I got some other belts in that will hopefully be a little tighter fit so it engages tighter faster. Does that make sense to you?

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 2 года назад

      @@themostlymikeshow2582 I don't have any experience with non stock belts. The engagement RPM on my stock TC driver is higher than the stock clutch. Very different engagement feel.
      The belt has to have a certain slack to it to be ok while the engine is idling. A tighter belt would put more pressure on the bronze bushing which is there for when the bike is stopped and the engine is idling.

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching Steven. I really don't see any reason why you couldn't install it with the wheel off. The only reason I can think of that I did it the way I did is because the break linkage was still hooked up on the opposite side and I would have been forced to do it in place whereas with the wheel l completely installed everything is held better while I turn wrenches. That is the only reason that I can think of.

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  Год назад

      Thanks for watching Victor. I forget how many links that chain finally had after tailoring it to Trail Force One.
      The process is pretty easy. I usually loosen the Adjusters on the rear wheel to about 3/4 of the way loose. I then thread the chain as it would normally go and just break it where it touches. They are pretty forgiving and those slack adjusters will take up at least two links worth of slop.
      I added a link for the chain in case you needed one. The new chains come with plenty of links, which I have one in my new Amazon store as a suggestion which comes with extra master links as well as the chain break tool. I'll put the link below, and include it in the description. I hope that this helps.
