Of the three big German car brands (Audi, Mercedes, and BMW), Audi has by far the best-looking electric cars. You can tell they are having fun designing them.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but whilst I appreciate the Audi looks efficient, I don't think it's as good looking as the BMW i5 but the Mercedes EQE/EQS are much better looking, albeit they don't offer estate versions and I don't like their SUV versions.
What it should be is: Estate name in BMW: Touring Estate name in Audi: Avant Estate name in USA: Wagon But as Mr. Reid is obsessed with America and everything American, he has forgotten that he is actually English, so has subsequently decided to adopt and apply Americanisms whenever and wherever he can.
Novelty of EV's is wearing thin these days, but I think something with bigger implications might be happening, which is a mutual silent majority coming to a conclusion that cars with internal combustion engines represent a more exciting and involved driver-oriented experience than any EV is capable of replicating. The lack of sound doesn't attract onlookers and once the silence of an EV becomes commonplace and no longer represents wealth they will be about as attractive to the ladies as pulling up in a golf cart. EV's have many benefits but I don't see how they could ever be more scintillating than something mechanical.
I don't think you grasp what is going on with EVs. They will replace ICE cars because governments collectively decided to mandate this shift. Manufacturers aren't switching to EVs by choice but are doing so under duress. By 2035 new ICE cars will be banned in Asia and Europe. Manufacturers don't have an incentive to continue to develop ICE cars because of upcoming bans.
The estate configuration is just the better option for people who need more space - especially in an EV. I'd go Estate over SUV any day. No performance compromises (vs. a saloon) like you get in an SUV. Just a longer roof line. This one is especially good looking. Bring back estates!
As an Audi owner, A8L and a Q7, who always loved their sleek, modern yet still classic designs, what the hell has happened to them?! They were doing great with their designs, inside and out, but they decided to follow Mercedes and BMW's lead and mess up their entire heritage of building beautiful machines. This for example, looks like they just ripped off the front end of a Hyundai Kona and slapped an Audi badge on it. The interior is just as bland and cheap looking as every modern car, screens and glossy black trims aren't luxurious, never were never will be!

The Etron will be way better since its systems can operate much faster since its not just the differential but the whole engine just turning on and off. You can see that in a German Carwow video with an SQ8 Etron and an RS4

The Avant exterior looks pretty good. The solution for front fascia is to get dark trim and smoke out the headlights with tint film (if legal in your country). The interior is just so so, not as impressive with too much gloss black. The features/tech and performance are comparable to high end Chinese brands but at a significantly higher prices (30-50% premium). The German “luxury tax” is not as easy to justify as it once was, in a world dominated by well made Chinese EVs. Big range = big battery = need for super-fast charging = costly recharging = very heavy car = impractical. EVs are only suitable for urban, short journeys.
WTF that is wacko absurd nonsense. You even state Big Range thus not just suitable urba short journeys. FYI Cars with this amount of range on average over many runs have done the 2,800 Mile Canonball Run in 42 hours (yes there is better records). Costly Super Fast Charging is only for those days when you have to drive 300 miles plus considering how much range this car has. Vast majority do not drive 300 mile in a day often, charging on slow Level 2 AC is a FRACTION the price of petrol. It's like you ignored the number just to force your agenda which defies logic.
Nope, absolutely not I will NOT have my Audi look like a Hyundai Kona. How dare you Audi chasing Asian designs YUCK!!!!! How far we have fallen in exterior design
I'm honestly puzzled by this Hyundai Kona comparison. This looks neither like bother generation of the Kona. Heck the new Kona is abit too SciFi wacky for my taste. Yet this eTron is a more refined subdued design. Kind of interesting how some people are having wild perceptions.
Umm you need to get your eyes checked, looks nothing like a Kona both old and new generation. Clearly this design is getting a lot of praise as it's gorgeous to anyone with taste. A Petrol version would be pointless as this niche is soo tiny and BEV will cover the segment just fine. Also a modern Petrol engine with performance close to this is a nightmare to own long term. Meanwhile power trains to this are being used as commercial work horses.

Im sad I like this interior more than the RS6 but unfortunately for Audi I don’t want an EV. Also unfortunately for Audi I still like their older interiors even more so I’m not updating my car anytime soon.
Wow 😍 Audi 👌
Audi decided to take away to the V8 RS6 at a age i cant have money to afford it.😭
My lovely brother Rory...😊😊
Remember though all those nice features are options. To get the big sound system, you first have to option some sort of MMI package at a huge cost.
Sunshine and smooth roads…not in the UK then 😂
Big range = big battery = need for super-fast charging = costly recharging = very heavy car = impractical.
Nice car but at around £90K I don't think it's going to sell very well.
Especially as it'll be worth £25k in 3 years time.
Where's the new jag video?
The whole car looks too complicated, which means money in the future.
I'm staying with the audi RS with odd numbers
Why did he hold the winner hostage on the call for a youtube video
Idk why they all look ugly asf these days! And i hope they'll equally work on a Petrol one. Also does this car remind you of a Kona😅
Still can't get over how much the front looks like Hyndai Kona
Audi keep cooking 🎉
Might be going down a dead end with electric but at least it doesn't make you throw up like jaguars project 00 sales.
This is what Jaguar copied with their new concept
WTF Jaguar concept is a 2 Door Gothic GrandTourer that looks like Lady Penelope's car. Half the length seems to be just the front bonnet. This is a sleek elegant estate wagon family car. Maybe try to be somewhat relevant and accurate.
It’s football Rory 😅
You lost me at Electrified 🤷😒🤦
If it uses the Same Audi Previous Electrified plataforms efficiency will be bad
I wish Jaguar had gone in this direction 😔
The new headlight design looks weird....
hi, when talking about side profile, please show proper side views.
Looks pretty fantastic, to bad it's electric ...
BMW designers need to go to Audi school.
i want this without piano black and in a body of Minivan - ID Buzz proves that in 5 m there is planty of space tof 7 adults. Just make the front much more slick. and please rory, You are cmpering rear legroom with taycan? You should say - it is not much, much less than in ID 7....
Love an electric estate car
