As a girl that grew up in the "hood" I applaud this. I frequently go to my old neighborhood to buy things or see people still there. I will never forget when someone called my sister and told her they saw me driving into the "bad" part of town and I had better be careful. LOL My sister wisely told them, "Its 'bad' to you, not to her... she grew up there. She knows the protocol of being in those streets." LOL. And at the end of the day its all relative to what you are accustomed to and know how to navigate. Danger is everywhere, it shouldn't stop you from living life to the fullest. Be aware and go forward. And as always I will say Colon gets a bad rap, definitely not worst than any other impoverished inner city I have been in.
Great video. People need to look within and realize what the US is really like. I live in Fort Mill SC. (used to live in Long Island NY) both middle class areas. We go to church every Sunday. Now the priest has a body guard near by at all times. Nothing has ever happened but since that shooting at the church I forget exactly where, they decided to get bodyguards. Sad reality of what the US is becoming. The priest can't even say mass without worrying for his life.
Just curious if you get a blocked/runny nose here in PC much? I’ve been like that for weeks now, I think it must be the weather. I was in the bank yesterday and everyone was sniffling too
@@Liam25025 yes. I have but a lot of people have been sick as well. A lot is going around. I am going to start paying attention to the stuffy nose and air pollution levels.
I've compared the Air Quality Index with Panama City and a town in rural Pennsylvania. Consistantly, the air quality shows better in Panama City compared to a rural area in the USA. Thats impressive for a city.
I am not surprised at the peace index score. Crime is everywhere. There are places in the US that I feel extremely safe and other places in the US I dare not venture into. Need to be cognizant of surroundings and take steps to protect yourself no matter where you are.
Love your videos, thank you for the ongoing helpful scoop! Regarding smoke, I've seen on other Panama channels, that there can be smoke around the Coronado/Nueva Gorgona area from people burning something but not sure what...trash...? (Can't remember which channel at the moment.)
Brush burning. People do it all the time. Even in towns here in the US. All over in SC. Just yesterday I was watching tv in my back porch and someone decided to burn brush. Heck, even in Long Island NY.

In the mid 90s I visited my family in Panama. It was customary when you got pulled over by a cop and he was hastling you casually give him $5.00 and he would leave you alone. I have been back to Panama since then but have not driven a car. I would imagine the bribe would be at least $20 or more today. In Mexico when cops try to shake you down they call it La Mordita the bite. They would shake down locals as well as tourists. I have walked around in so called dangerous parts of Panama and felt relatively safe.
Ive been pulled by cops and they never asked me for a bribe, been living in Panama for over 25 years. Honestly corruption is always a problem, I mean in the US you have powerful corporations and rich people “lobbying” aka bribing politicians all the time, but most US citizens find that “ok”.
25 years here, never had an issue.
