Not all families can maintain a dog (this is part of why there are so many in shelters), in my case is not even about money (I'm highly allergic); I'd have to go with a fence and/or not letting the kid out of sight. Dogs are wonderful though, I wish I could adopt
@@deco4k677not to mention if people embrace a religion which teaches that the dogs (and pigs) are blasphemy. That is why dogs are not popular pet in my country and cats dominate them. I cant adopt dogs, aside from the environment and financial, also because my neighborhood and society here are not dog-friendly. So yeah there are many factors dogs ended up in shelter and even on plate.(some people who not embrace religion which ban dogs, still eat dog meat in my country. Only some.)
A family friend of mine has a son with autism, and when he was younger, he really struggled with crowded spaces and would just take off running when he was overstimulated. They got a service dog for him for a multitude of reasons, but one of his jobs was that he could track their son's scent and find him when he would run off. I was lucky enough to be there during a training session when they first got him and seeing it firsthand is so interesting. The dog sadly passed away a few weeks ago, but lived a long, happy life full of love helping his boy partially the exact way you brought up. Service dogs and the training that goes into something like that specifically are a huge luxury though, so I don't want to assume that that's a need or even possible for this family, I just wanted to share because yes - a dog could actually be a valid solution to a runaway-prone child.
What's that supposed to mean? Can't stand when ppl say that dumb "we don't deserve dogs" bs. The dog in this video saved a little kid's life. Dog is man's best friend. Yes we deserve a world with dogs
God I love dogs. My lab was the same, if I brought a new tennis ball home for him in my pocket and walked through the door he sniffed it out immediately sticking his nose up to my pocket. Great dogs. God bless this little child, so glad he was found.
My nephew is a K-9 officer. One thing I never knew about the dogs is that they live with their handler. So they work a shift just like their human and go home at the end of the day to relax. At home the dog has two dog “sisters”, to socialize and play with.
What happens if the dog retires or gets injured? Ive heard that police have to fight for the dog to retire peacefully with its handler. They’d rather euthanize. Idk if it depends on the department or the job or the dog. I’m guessing a dog meant to attack on command is different than a dog meant to sniff out things. I hope your nephew can adopt his working companion when his years of work ends.
@@auditamplifier8493and they wouldn’t have been close enough to hear him cry if the dog didn’t lead them to the area where he was, you would’ve been stuck like a log trying to find him so how about be quiet 🤷🏽♀️
OUTSTANDING POLICE WORK! These officers and the K-9 trainer need to be rewarded for their fearless service and decision making! God bless them! Jesus is coming back and he is all ready working miracle of saving the lost and those who need to be found! Amen!
did you see the body cam? the cop who picked the kid up used his face to push back branches... good decision making? the only injuries were scrapes after the EMS looked at him and guess what, they came from that cop not from a toddler's slow walk at ground level in the woods... the dog and the handler did great, but saying they are fearless and have great decision making as a whole is corrupt ignorance.
Fantastic outcome! That beautiful dog found that little boy in less than an hour, and I know that the whole community there is happy to have that dog and that officer on duty to do this work. Great team! This story made my day!
Especially if he's autistic. They wander. My daughter is in her 30's and is still a potential wanderer. I have a lanyard with a key to a two sided deadbolt around my neck 24/7. Once they sent canines on the scent of my daughter but they couldn't find her because of the rain. Thank God for people willing to call the police when they see something not right. In our case it was some people that called 911 when they saw a teenager walking down the road past dark in just a bathing suit. My daughter was walking towards the pool we often frequented.
Great job Officers and Midnight you are such a good boy. You knew this was a child and not a criminal. Thanks to your Officer/ Handler for training you to know exactly what to do.💙💙
Oh my goodness. I love Midnight...when I was 4-5 years old I named my stuffed "Pound Puppy" { Midnight}...what a champ...my "Midnight " was only for me to cuddle with not a real dog but what warm memories this brought me amid a happy ending
Midnight is beautiful and healthy looking. Good boy! Loved this ending. The best. Peace!
They should get a dog to guard that boy so he never gets lost again, so many dogs in shelters waiting to be adopted.
So many stupid ignorant parents

My dad's K-9 saved my brothers when they were little.
Very smart pup. I'm sure he got plenty of play time with his favorite toy and his favorite treat. Along with loads of cuddles.
