Qantas A350’s “BIG UPGRADE” Shocked Everyone! Here’s Why
Intending to revolutionize long-haul travel with unparalleled comfort and cutting-edge technology, Qantas' Sunrise project has always attracted attention from aviation enthusiasts. As Qantas continues to set new standards in air travel, the latest project updates on the A3 50-1000 were also announced recently. So what are these new upgrades? How will the new aircraft be put into operation? Let's find out in today's episode!
Upgrade
Qantas A350’s “BIG UPGRADE” Shocked Everyone! Here’s Why
Qantas has ordered a total of 12 Ultra Long Range A3 50-1000’s, in addition to 12 Long Range aircraft as part of the launch of new, ultra-long scheduled routes that we have come to know as Project Sunrise. First of all, it operates the Sydney - London and Sydney - New York routes. These routes will be the longest ever, with flight times of around 20 hours non-stop.
The installation of an extra fuel tank on the Airbus A3 50-1000, also known as a third center fuel tank, has been certified following previous incidents. As a result, Qantas does not expect any further delays with the start of the above-mentioned ultra-long-haul routes from 20 26. The Australian national airline can only operate these ultra-long-haul scheduled services as the A3 50-1000 is provided with a greater range, and that is why an additional fuel tank is required.
Qantas A350’s “BIG UPGRADE” Shocked Everyone! Here’s Why
Aviation regulators have asked the manufacturer to go back to the drawing board to design the additional fuel tank. Qantas International chief Cam Wallace said at the International Air Transport Association summit in Dubai that following the tweak, the extra tank was now certified. “The certification of the third centre fuel tank has happened, so that’s now been concluded,” he states.
The price for a ticket on sunrise is going to be the deal breaker! Less seats suggest that the price in economy is not going to be cheap!!
The flight is definitely NOT designed for tourists, the flights are designed mainly for business travellers.
There should not be any economy on sunrise flights.
These A350-1000 upgrades show Qantas’ dedication to innovation and passenger comfort. Well done!
Great sharing!
thanks for your comment
I look forward to trying this out. I had great hopes for the QF 787 and found it to be the worst aircraft I've ever travelled on, in terms of space in Cattle Class. It wasn't the legroom which was tolerable -it was the shoulder room which was so limited that you needed to turn sideways in your seat in order to use a knife and fork. That, coupled with the cabin crew's decision to electronically dim the huge windows for almost the entire trans-Pacific crossing means I never want to travel on this type in the future. Hoping the 350 will leave a better impression.
The new A350-1000 upgrades are exactly what the aviation industry needs. Looking forward to seeing these planes in service!
cant wait
Did you ever stay more than 16 hours in economy class in a plane? If yes, you should know that the less it happens the better it is
The improvements to the A350-1000 are impressive. Qantas is setting new benchmarks in aviation!
Cant wait to fly non-stop from Sydney to London on Qantas A350s.
Yeah, will you try it?
Will Try Out Qantas A350-1000.Great Video And Info

Do you expect this aircraft to fly as part of the project?
20-hour non-stop flights? That’s incredible! Kudos to Qantas for pushing the boundaries of aviation.
Do you want to fly like that?
These A350-1000 upgrades are a testament to Qantas dedication to enhancing passenger comfort and technology.
Qantas always knows how to make customers satisfied
The upgrades (additional center fuel tank) is nothing to do with comfort or technology!! It’s just to achieve the required range. Without the additional fuel capacity project sunrise was not achievable.
Sydney to London non-stop sounds like a dream! Qantas is setting new standards with these upgrades.
Sounds great, right?
20-hour flights are no joke! Qantas is truly innovating with the A350-1000 upgrades.
Looking fwd to flying this option. Will need to fly to Sydney first. Wish Melbourne to London was an option. Sounds so exciting. 👏🇦🇺
same here, I also want to experience it ✈️✈️✈️
MEL-NY and I am almost certain MEL->LON have always been planned for project sunrise. When these start they will be the longest flights(approximately 40 minutes longer than from Sydney.
The new A350-1000 upgrades are setting Qantas apart from the competition. Exciting developments in aviation!
They will be leaders in this field
The advancements in fuel efficiency and range on the A350-1000 are remarkable. Excited for the future of air travel!

Qantas is making history with these ultra-long-haul routes. The A350-1000 is a perfect fit for Project Sunrise!
The redesign of the center tank on Qantas A350-1000 is a significant achievement for Airbus and Qantas.
They have made significant progress
If you are in first class or business class, Economy, not sure there will be a discount option.

The future of air travel looks bright with Qantas’ A350-1000 upgrades. Exciting times ahead!
What a joy for them
The new fuel tank certification is fantastic news. Qantas is gearing up for some epic flights!
Big step ✈️
Non-stop flights from Sydney to New York are going to be a game-changer. Qantas is leading the charge!
I'm very curious what that flight will be like
Qantas A350-1000 with these upgrades is going to redefine long-distance travel. Cant wait to fly on one!
The extra fuel tank is a smart move to ensure the reliability of these ultra-long-haul flights
thanks for your comment ✈️✈️✈️
Qantas’ Project Sunrise is set to revolutionize long-haul travel with non-stop flights from Melbourne to several international destinations. The initial routes for Project Sunrise flights from Melbourne are planned to include:
Melbourne to London: This route will connect Melbourne directly with London, offering a non-stop service that significantly reduces travel time.
Melbourne to New York: Another ambitious route that will link Melbourne and New York without any stopovers.
Following the launch of these routes, other potential destinations from Melbourne under Project Sunrise may include:
Paris: A direct flight from Melbourne to Paris is being considered, which would offer travelers a convenient connection to another major European city.
Frankfurt: Frankfurt is also on the list of potential direct destinations from Melbourne, providing access to Germany’s financial hub and Europe’s largest economy.
Miami and Sao Paulo: These cities have been mentioned as possible future destinations for Project Sunrise flights from Melbourne.
nice, thanks for your your comment✈️
Sydney/Melbourne to Sao Paulo will be an interesting one... to my knowledge the first commercial international route to have to fly over part of Antarctica 🙃
@@FLIGAVIA No worries mate, I absolutely love your content and always learn a lot so thank you!
@@jonnies Thats really interesting! Thanks for bringing that to our attention. I find it particularly interesting as I have flown over Antarctica (well parts of it) once before and will be again on new years eve this year. Qantas operate a few sight-seeing flights every year in partnership with a private company who handle the bookings and get other aspects of the experience together. The last time I did it was over a decade ago on a 747 however now they do them with the 787. I would rather the 747 lol I miss them!
The certification of the third fuel tank is a big win for Qantas. Looking forward to seeing these planes take off!"
Would you like to go on a trip?
Great news for the safest airline in the world … go Airbus family
The new king of airplane
Think Qantas lost the title of safest airline to Air New Zealand 2024
@@mikerussell3298 ahhhh no you are so wrong … Qantas has had no fatalities and no hull loss … Air New Zealand crashed a DC10 into Antartica killing 257 peps
The A350's new upgrades are impressive. Qantas is really stepping up the game with Project Sunrise.
Sounds great, right?
The addition of the extra fuel tank for the A350-1000 is a smart move. Can't wait for those non-stop Sydney to New York flights!"
The Sunrise project is worth looking forward to, it will be something really big
“New standards in air travel” it is a shame that it doesn’t extend to customers or staff
Are you looking forward to this project?
Qantas' Project Sunrise is going to be a game-changer for long-haul travel! Excited to see the A350-1000 in action.
same here i love Qantas's A350
Big newssssssss❤
yeahhh
Excited for the unparalleled comfort on Qantas A350s ultra-long routes.
Would you like to experience it?
I'm interested to know what the operating costs of a Sydney to London flight will be compared to a flight with a refuelling stopover in Asia or the Middle East.
Let's discuss it in the coming episodes
Impressed by Qantas A350s cutting-edge technology and upgrades.
Same here ✈️✈️✈️
The new upgrades on Qantas A350s are a game-changer for long flights.
When do you think this project will go into operation?
I am actually, looking forward to experiencing direct Qantas flights to Australia from the UK.
Because at this point you have to go the indirect route via Bangkok or Singapore.
yep thanks for sharing your thoughts
These upgrades on the A350-1000 are a testament to Qantas' commitment to excellence in air travel.
qantas has never disappointed me
The certification process must have been rigorous, but it's worth it for these groundbreaking flights.
yep that's big step
I think they can upgrade if they're doing so like a twin engine a380
nice idea
The unparalleled comfort on Qantas A350s will make long-haul travel enjoyable.
Everyone is very excited, right?
I rather have a stopover on the way to Europe, usually in Singapore or Hong Kong
yeah thanks for sharing your thoughts
Qantas is leading the way in ultra-long-haul travel with their innovative A350-1000s.
always my favorite airline
The new A350-1000 upgrades are essential for Qantas ultra-long-haul operations. Exciting times ahead!
Let's wait for Sunrise project
Qantas A350-1000s new upgrades are the future of long-haul travel. Cant wait for 2026!
cant wait
Project Sunrise is a revolutionary step for Qantas. The A350-1000 upgrades are making it all possible!
Are you looking forward to it?
Qantas should have Starlink to provide on flight wifi
yeah nice idea!
Certification took longer than expected = a certification agency who do it's job unlike the FAA who does delegate everything to the manfacturer.
nice thanks for sharing
nobody was shocked, the upgrade is available to any carrier that wants it!
Thanks for your comment
Qantas’ investment in the A350-1000 shows their commitment to providing top-notch travel experiences.
Qantas, they always do well
Qantas A350s new upgrades are worth the wait for aviation enthusiasts.
yep, are you excited?
When does Qantas get its first A350-10 ?
you mean A350-1000? maybe 2026
It was mentioned - 2026.
Hope airbus comes up with a A319 xlr.
✈️
Qantas A350s cutting-edge technology is leading the way in aviation.
It's not disappointing, is it?
Project Sunrise by Qantas A350s is the future of long-haul travel.
cant wait to see, right?
Sonking as there are more redundant systems and pitot tubes!!!....more computers more systems to agree or not with each other
20 hours in a plane is still amazing
Even though there are quite a few people who are afraid of it, I'm extremely excited about this project, and so are you, right?
Qantas A350s extra fuel tank ensures longer flights without stops.
Exactly my thought too
Flying non-stop from Sydney to New York on the upgraded A350 will be an amazing experience.
yeah many people are looking forward to it
Qantas A350s Project Sunrise is making history in aviation.
I’m sure, you’re right
Qantas A350s Project Sunrise will set a new benchmark in air travel.
✈️✈️✈️ can’t waitt
i flew on the qantas 747 before it retired, and i miss it so so much. i’m not excited for the future tbh
thanks for sharing your thoughts
20h non stop travel! Will be challenging for passengers and crews.
Not sur customers will like it. Will see.
thanks for your feedback, but it's worth a try in my opinion
Fine if we’re in Business. I’ll save up. Great experience. 👋🏻🇦🇺
Hopefully Qantas will go for the intermediate seating options rather than the cheapest, nastiest options available they always go for 😁👍
For 20 hrs... You need a decent seat

Meanwhile, at Boeing, greedy executives are gladly accepting their full pay & bonus packages,
despite the company stumbling & bumbling, churning out sub-standard products.
yep Boeing needs to change
Qantas A350s Project Sunrise is set to revolutionize ultra-long routes.
✈️✈️✈️ yep you’re right
Qantas A350s new upgrades promise unparalleled comfort and efficiency.
Passengers will have more private space
Waiting too long. I want to be able to avoid being forced into a stop halfway to Europe. Why? And the layovers, and opportunities for luggage to go missing are just a pain in the arse. Not to mention the BS prices for even simple meals in airports.
thanks for your comment✈️
Economy seat 33inch, still nightmare for economy is it 9 or 10 abreast .
a non stop 20 hour flight? No thanks.
Trust me, most Sydney to NY/London travellers will prefer it over a 5h layover in between.
@@jonnies no chance....I'm a fairly regular Sydney - London traveller ....a 20 hr flight? No way.
@@smithy280663 just sleep it out, read a book, watch some movies lol. Get up to stretch your legs every hour or two.
I would way rather this than moping around exhausted at Hong Kong airport for 3 hours waiting for my connecting flight lol.
Also, as mentioned in the vid, this aircraft variant will have fewer than 250 seats - meaning that it will be more spacious for all passengers.
There should be a massage service on board.
These flights will have to be done with Sustainable Aviation Fuel to avoid an enormously excessive carbon footprint per passenger.
yep that's right
I disagree. The fuel usage and thus carbon footprint per passenger from say SYD to LHR/JFK with a stop at say DBX of LAX respectively would be WAY more than flying direct when you take into account descending, landing, taxiing in then taxiing back out, taking off, ascending and getting back to cruising altitude and airspeed which is the most efficient fuel usage thanks to the thin air.
All is shit; closed many many hours in a long tube sitting over fuel tanks is crazy
U still ride on horses huh?
@@Bryan-nx8zt It's also an experience worth trying, right?
Makes a girl think....

20 hours I.dont think.so. I prefer EK with a stop in Dubai and on board showers in first class. Qantas a sht airline
Thanks for your feedback
So sour
@chrishalious8194 yes bitter like a campari and soda
Qantas would be more profitable to concentrate on India and Chinese markets. Most Aussies are not Anglo anymore. We have been taken over.
yes maybe ✈️
At the time of the last census (2021) almost 60% of Australians were of a European background and only 17% of an Asian background. We are still a long way from "being taken over".
What an ingnorant remark. You must be a PHONy voter.
Calm your farm mate, the US and UK are still important destinations
