This is just like Taco Bell and that total bastardization of a place Chipotle. They try to create something better than the original, that is time and tested, and fall on their non Mexican culos! Mexican street food will always taste fresher and be cheaper and also taste better 100% of the time. This goes for any international cuisines! Nothing beats an Italian, Mexican, Jewish, Jamaican, German ect. abuelita making fresh food for your belly!! You think a food chain is going to make a better Jamaican jerk chicken, than someone who has lived all there lives eating the food religiously in their country? No..mijo..tek dat somwherj else! lol Why do you think that the the pastrami at Katz's Deli and the bagels in New York are so hard to replicate?

@kinetic Kennons believed or not over 20 years ago my friends and my self we name tacos Los chupacabra. When they use to be located right outside of metro coyoacán, across the street of Centro coyoacán. We use to be students and I remember that we made two tacos from one because they use to be so huge and they use to have a bunch of clay pots with different sides like nopalitos asados, papitas encebolladas, frijolitos, rajas con papas etc. etc. etc. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 . The owners use to give us credit 🤣🤣🤣 because we where there so often and we become friends with them.

Chupacabras, at last!! The legendary and one and only! Oh, man, the memories…
BTW: «campechano», besides of «born in Campeche state» also means something like «combined» when applied to food. At Chupacabras that means chorizo, pastor and beef.
Now, heading for some suadero tacos for dinner.

One of our favourite sit down restaurants here in Cozumel had these wonderful shrimp tacos. Not breaded and covered in cheese. 3 on the platter with a few sidings for $90 which I thought was a steal. BUT...then they raised the price to $190. WTF????? That's more than over 100% raise. We don't go anymore. Their loss.
Oh ya. $70 for a plain cheese quesadillas is a total rip-off!

Here in Panajachel, Guatemala, you can get 3 tacos for 10 quetzales at the cheapest place and up to 3 for Q25 at better places. So that's 3 (three!) tacos for between 25 and 60 pesos. And gringas have meat in them! My favorite street cart gringas are 2 for Q25 and they have al pastor meat and lots of cheese on a wheat tortilla. And now I'm hungry! :D

Got hooked on Mexican food almost 50 years ago. Okay, it was a combination of Mexican and native American in New Mexico but it was much better than Taco Hell. I still can't quite take the heat from some of the chile peppers, without worrying about searing the taste buds off my tongue but I've always like the spices and flavors south of the border. Can't wait to retire to Mexico in 2021.

Yes, here in Texas you can get a lengua taco or a rib or brisket taco for about $3.00. But they would be "Texas sized". Beef tongue and rib eye are about 5.50 a pound here. Beef tongue used to be 99 cents a pound just a few years ago..it WAS considered a poor mans Mexican leftover food along with tripas, beef cheeks"beef heads"barbacoa de cabeza" and tripe"menudo". My butcher told me that once "The food Network" started to showcase these leftover organs and low cost meats all over EL MUNDO..then Japan, France and other countries started to outbid the U.S. and brought the prices higher and higher...that's why a 4 lb beef tongue that used to be 5 bucks is now 20! And cheap beef trip for menudo that used to be 67 cents a pound is now 3.50 a pound.

Well I believe that tacos Taquearte ( btw you forgot to pronounce the letter e on Taquearte ) they are for people that don’t want to eat street tacos. They wanna sit down at a nice clean fancy place with ambiance and have a beer. I do agree the lack of presentation didn’t help with size or flavor. But also think about which ones might also be healthier. But do agree I would always prefer street tacos almost anytime. Till next time. Continue with the videos !!! Ciao

Greg and Güera, try a taqueria called El Caminero on Lerma street, it is in the area of El Angel glorieta. It serves grilled meat tacos. GOOGLE the location. When you go order consome, a soup, on any of the combinations you can order 3, 6 or 9 taco order. As desert l hope you early and ask for pastel, they have two options I prefer the one that is rectangular, they get them from a bakery called La Vazca, simply delicious, there have cafe de olla or americano. I have gone to that place since 1970! Their salsas are great, especially their guacamole. Put salsa Mexicana on your consomme, careful they serve it hot! It is on the expensive side, but it is worthed. I usually order 3 tacos of Chuleta con queso tocino y Cebolla. They have tables outside, but if you want to get the whole experience of how your tacos are cooked, sit on the inside tables, it could be a little hot with the grills at full ballast. I hope you can visit it and enjoy it as I do. For Güera, there are quesadillas con queso and chicken alambres.
