Yeah. The Mexican pizza is literally called pizza a la Mexicana and it usually has jalapeño, chorizos, bean paste ect. Italian immigrants who came to Mexico were the first to make it since they got used to the flavors of Mexico.

Now she just buys tortilla chips and she puts the sauce inside a pot to soften them. However, my friend’s mom dips the whole tortilla in sauce and cuts them up into four pieces. So it just depends on the person.

Churros are deep fried and sometimes accompanied with chocolate syrup. They are crunchy on the outside but also softer on the inside and they are a dessert. Curiously, there is something called chicharrón preparado, which is a botana(a salty snack) where you have this crunchy flat shell and you put tomato, lettuce, cheese, avocado, crema mexicana, ect... This on the other hand isn't made with pork skin, it's a wheat product base.

Burritos ARE a thing in Mexico. They are from the north, specifically from Juarez, Chihuahua and it is very very different from the Tex-Mex version.

Nachos are not a thing here in Guadalajara. There are “tostilocos”, but those are new and don’t really seem like a traditional Mexican snack.

I've had the damndest time finding nachos or burritos in Mexico. Corn tortilla tacos for days, but almost never nachos.

Both have their purpose. Some times you want authentic Mexican food and sometimes you want Taco Bell.

I never WANT Taco Bell... I only eat it is I'm on the road, and it is all I can find. Living in Texas, I have so many options for Mexican and Tex/Mex food, I never have to eat Taco Bell when I am home.
