I was reading on another site that excess sugar consumption can cause HBP. I have 3 friends with HBP issues and they all have one thing in common. Pop/soda drinkers - 2 to 5 cans a day.
All 10 things are so good. I’ve applied only 2 things long time ago, my blood pressure is 110/70 now even I have genetic high blood pressure. - Reduce salt: Just a little bit that our tongue doesn’t feel the difference, after two weeks, you will get 50% less than the salt you used daily. - Walking 45 minutes a day. No more medication needed. ( I’m 74 year old )
I don't use much salt already, and use the redmond, Himalayan, etc. not 'regular' salt. Walking isn't a good option in my area. already to fish oil for many years, all fresh greens almost every day (including spinach, arugala, etc.). Am working on increasing potassium and magnesium - think I am severely depleted on that last one. Don't drink alcohol - VERY sporadically. I like the cold water immersion - Just did it the other day (and it wasn't even extremely cold - my son-in-law does the ice water immersion regularly ) I went in when it was just "cold" and it helped heal things immediately - by the next day.
How high was your blood pressure. What medication were you on and how long did it take to lower your blood pressure. Do you suffer anxiety? Hope to get your response thanks
@@emmag879I would love to know this as well. I do everything that this lady did but my BP is still high I have digestive issues too having NO gallbladder!
I am 74 years old. My doctor told me your bloodpressure is too high and gave me losartan. I took it for a week and became so sick. I decided to do it another way and now its normal for my age. Weight is okay, fitness, dancing, walking. Drinking hibiscus tea and do acupressure on certain points on my hand. And having natural bloodpressure capsules. So glad I made the decision to stop the meds. There still is stress because of persons in my life who are very sick. I have to learn to deal with that. Thank you for your video and everyone good luck with lowering BP. Greez from the Netherlands.
Yes. My issue was how the meds make me feel: dizzy, lackadaisical, just a “whatever” attitude which I don’t want. I do a carnivore diet (5 years) which has made my body beautiful and mind sharp, so I don’t want to eat fruits/veggies. Although last year I tried and didn’t like hibiscus tea and my cardiologist said “that doesn’t work.” I’ll be 75 soon and I’m determined to wean myself off my bp meds (metoprolol). How did you do it?
Great video. Anytime my BP creeps above 120/60, my doctor wants to put me on Losartan. I refuse. Our BP fluctuates throughout the day. My average at home is 117/60. What in the world would happen if I went on Losartan? Doctors are just pill happy, imo.
I was prescribed BP meds . what followed was shocking. I was dizzy. had vision blackouts. palpitations. my GP sent me to 2 opthalmologists, a dentist, had an MRI, and sent to a rhumatologists. I asked my GP to lower the MED. GP refused. I adopted strategies to lower BP. stopped the meds. 8 months later, no blackouts or dizzy spells. BP was 120/82 AT GP OFFICE. 😊
My husband had a stroke due to Cranial Vascular Disease. Immediately he was prescribed the big three: statin-Blood thinner-BP medication. He was told he would need to be on these for the rest of his life. Then he saw a Neurologist who prescribed Whole Food Plant Based No Salt, Oil or Sugar diet. In three week ALL blood numbers improved dramatically and in three months he was off ALL medications! He lost 35 lbs. I have had a 55 lbs loss and my health has improved dramatically as well! That all started December of 2022. It is not easy but it is simple!
It's known that lowering *Sodium/Salt* when dangerous HBP is that High...BUT NEVER Keep Sodium/Salt eliminated completely!! Big DEADLY Unhealthy Ignorant Mistake!! Low Sodium/Salt it's TOTALLY FINE for everyone!! INCLUDING HBP Patients
I was under several blood pressure tablets and had to suffer a lot of side effects. Since I started drinking hibiscus tea I have experienced no side effects and my BP is now normal and do not take any medication.. It may not work for everyone but it is worth a try.

I am a 77 old lady and I found that doing "intermittent fasting" worked amazing for me. It was a bit hard to getting used to not eat any dinner but after a few days I was fine. I did fasting for 18 hours after my lunch till about 8:00 next morning but I ate all what I liked for breakfast and lunch. I lost all surplus weight in less of 2 months about 10 kilos. I am Italian and I love bread and pasta I even ate ice-cream and sweets, not every day, of course. Now I just still do intermittent fasting when I gain 2 or 3 kilos and I wish to get them off....so easy!
I am 71 years old, I lost 5 pounds in two months by fasting from 7 pm to 11 am the next day and eat low carbs, walk 4 miles a day. My AC1 go down from 6.3 down to 5.9, I am still fasting to lower my AC1 more and also use fasting to lower my LDL, triglycerides under 100.
For months this is what I've been doing: ride my exercise fan bike 5 plus miles daily, I don't eat red meat or pork for over 8 months, no sodas for 2.5 yrs NO soda, 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil, 2tbsp of ACV, and 1cup of beet juice with3 cloves of garlic along with meditative breathing, along with a 2mins COLD shower not saying it's for everyone but it works for me
Wow! Congrats on your success. I am looking for a way to bring my bp down. Taking 4 meds and still getting readings such as 145/93. Ready to faithfully follow these recommendations and thinking positive!
@@gmarounf7472 Thank you for your words of caution. I am feeling discouraged because a 30 pound weight loss goal with intermittent fasting is not showing results. Making healthy food choices and daily walks. BP diastolic still high 80s to lower 90s.
@@Julie-u2z I had a reading of 155/136 the other day and my doctor still won't send me to a specialist and family still think I'm being a hypochondriac. So you could be in a far worse off position.
@@gmarounf7472 oh my goodness that reading is very significant. I would say a doctor visit or immediate care visit is in order. Sometimes we have to go ahead and make decisions like this while we can. I’ll be praying for you that you get care and improve. At least have your BP checked and make sure your BP monitor is not broken! Take care.
My mom is 84. I reduced her sugar and carbs intake drastically. Only use Himalayan pink salt and olive oil for our cooking. Almost no fruits, consume mainly on lean meat , fish and veg. After 3 months, I threw away all the doctor prescribed blood pressure and cholesterol medication ! Indicators are normal now. I lead a natural bodybuilder lifestyle. As such, my mom and I eat the same kind of food. Has been working well for the past 3 years.
I've had hypertension for at least 40 years, was taking 3 meds to control. I have been drinking Hibiscus tea, one cup a day since last March. Both numbers dramatically lowered. Miraculous at 78 years of age! My primary Dr is following me
I have been going to try this. Have a few bags of it. Taking a tablet a day for high blood pressure. How many spoons in 1 cup please and are you taking no meds at all? How many cups a day do you drink?
My blood pressure wanders around quite a bit, no idea why. But thinking about breathing deeply, I’ve come to realise my giving up playing the saxophone was a mistake. It requires really controlled and deep breathing, especially if you use the higher reed strengths like 4 or 5 which require much more muscle strength. Plus the concentration required and the calming nature of music is of benefit. So I’ll go back to annoying my neighbours and tell them it’s for health reasons.
When my son was choosing his instrument at school (age 11), I suggested the alto sax because I love listening to it. He went on to get an honours music degree. Your neighbours are fortunate!!
Weight Lose, Magnesium, Exercise, and 3 Garlic Cloves a Day. I drink garlic Water, and eat 3 Cloves and My BP is Now Normal after being High for 30 years.
@@rags-hs1fz I also once used garlic it lowered my blood pressure but now its resisting the garlic. I chew it whilst raw with other food . When too high I suck and gradually chew it.
I recently started taking the beet gummies. I totally agree with you on anger, getting upset over things and stewing over dumb stuff. I am seriously working on that. Turning off the news is helping, lol ! Also a big one is eliminate simple carbs because too much insulin raises blood pressure!
I lost 40 lbs and normalized my weight on carnavore. No hunger, no cravings, no binging. Was able to come off my blood pressure medication after 30 years on it. I also walk 6-10 miles a day and do a resistance training program.
I am working on lowering my blood pressure naturally. I used to take a statin but I got off of it by eating salmon and oatmeal. So this morning, I made a smoothie from canned beets, grapefruit juice, a banana, and a little extra stevia. Sometimes I cook frozen spinach so it will blend easier and use that in my smoothies also. I love spinach and beets.
One of the 4 personality types is the Melancholic type. We are deep thinkers, overthinkers, analysts, worriers, strategists, introverts, tend to see the glass as half empty. Changing behavior based on those brain genetics is a big challenge, and a continual job.
Because of family history I’ve had cardiovascular disease since my mid 30s. In my mid 40s I discovered a Whole Foods plant-based no oil diet. This diet caused my blood pressure to drop to the point where I didn’t need medication anymore. Then I hit my 50s, and like this channel spoke about, my arteries became more stiff, and the blood pressure went back up. Also, as this channel speaks about I had to start focusing more on cardio exercises and less on weight training and that made a good difference. Personally had to drop alcohol to special occasions only.
I just came accross your channel, listened, wrote notes and subscribed. I am so impressed with, not only your knowledge, but your down-to-earth presentation. You have confirmed what some of my other favorite Drs are saying about our power to keep ourselves healthy. I am a 77 yr old lady. I have weaned myself off of BP meds (slowly) over past few months. I am doing most of the things you suggested. I monitor my BP often, it is staying within a normal range. My energy level has increased. I still work 20 hrs a week because it is good for me, it connects me to people, gives me a sense of purpose and keeps me young and healthy. I look forward to watching many more of your videos. Thank you for encouraging us to stay healthy! 😊
Thank you for this video. As a stroke-surviving vegan-pescatarian(I eat fish but no other meat except SOMETIMES chicken/turkey-- once or twice a year at most) and absolutely no egg or milk products, I can't have much salt after I had a stroke but I have hyponotremic seizures sometimes, and that clashes with my migraine condition because when my blood pressure goes up too much to have caffiene, that means a headache is pretty-much inevitable. I stay away from alcohol (most of the time)at all costs because I don't like headaches and high blood pressure. I used to eat veggie burgers but then I hesrd there was too much sodium and other thhings in them....I do like portabello burgers, though! Mushrooms lower blood pressure, and that's why I like them.).
I got off blood meds by taking potassium with dr permission. Added bacon to my diet and added small amounts of mineral salt . Eliminated sugar, gluten and started walking . I also am eating more meat . Keto like diet helped me I only lost a few pounds but I’m still trying . I highly recommend the book Salt Fix
Taking fish oil too! Hard to say in what’s working the best but I would say going on a high quality multivitamin and having my vitamins tested to see where I’m borderline so I can add to my supplementation really helped. I’m seeing a functional medicine doctor not only is my blood pressure normal, but my Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is at zero right now. We have the power to make big changes in our health!!!
I’ve been a vegan for 5 years. My doctor watched me carefully and ended up taking me off both blood pressure and cholesterol medications. I’m 70 years old.
nice! I (when I remember!!!) will take a couple of cloves chopped up and swallowed; and also drink so many different types of good teas - hibiscus is one of my favorites; also rooibos, red clover, oatstraw, nettle, burdock, etc.
Yes hibiscus and lowering caffeine intake is good for me plus a juice drink with beetroot in. I tried Spirulina in tablet form. 3 a day. Blood pressure down by 15. Doctor was surprised so hope this continues to be ok for me.
I always worked out in the past but as I got older, I developed arthritis. It pulled me away from my fitness routine and I have gained weight in the last 10yrs. I never had high BP but lately, my BP according to Red Cross (I donate blood on a regular basis) has increased to possible hypertension. I'm not a pill popper so I was researching ways to lower BP naturally. Came across your video and will be putting your advice to my daily changes. I am 65 yrs old and weigh 194 lbs (lost 16 already) and because of the arthritis, not very active now. I will start walking 30mins a day as my fitness until I can do more. Thank you for your wise advice.
GREAT! I was doing the intermittent fasting about that same time. I haven't been for a few months, need to get back on that once I get back home!! I don't really lose weight, but am not really overweight - maybe a few pounds.
Incredible info! Definitely subscribed! I did the keto diet along with intermittent fasting eating in 12 hour increments.. morning meal at 7am and not eating until 7pm..for example It’s lowered my blood pressure from t60/90 130/84 and it’s totally cleaned up my cholesterol problem
An important thing I have learnt working in a poor country is that you can learn to fast. I took me about three weeks. In the beginning I suffered stomach pains for about one hour and after three weeks or so only for five to ten minutes, before your metabolism changes to digesting fat. I think there is no way around this tough part in loosing weight. I went from normal weight to slightly under weight. I kept this ability to fast easily since then.
Started Carnivore diet 4 months ago. Dropped 40 pounds, weaned myself off my Lisinopril + Metropol prescriptions (Blood pressure + Beta Blockers). My blood pressure now averages around 115/75. Still take fish oil, magnesium, turmeric supplements.
Yeah carnivore is great but you do really need to supplement with magnesium i take 400mg every night before bed sleeping well also it seems to have a calming affect the next day
@@mackyjack3929 Bravo! 👏 I also take magnesium glycinate (500 mg), taurine, berberine, zinc, niacin, sea-iodine, fish oil, K2 + D3, selenium, creatinine and CoQ10.
We are not carnivores (medical fact) when you take something out of your diet you lose weight bp and cholesterol naturally goes down. Then rises. What you're doing to your body is horrific (medial fact scientifically proven) and is also inflammatory. From someone certified in sports nutrion.

Hi....I'm 76 yrs. old & have done beet juicing over the last several years & what Dr. Story says is absolutely true. There's a noticeable drop in pressure within 4 hours from drinking the juice. I use a large beet, spinach, any fresh fruit, carrots, tablespoon of honey, fresh squeezed lemon juice & sometimes fresh juice from and aloe vera plant(don't use the skins). My blender gives me about 3 servings. It truly is amazing how quickly this process works...So, give it a try!! Jacky : )
This is perfect timing for me. Ive just been told that my BP is high, I will return in 3 months to have it rechecked before I decide on taking meds. I plan to reduce my BP following all 10 of your tips. Your advise sounds so 'easy' to follow, you make it sound so doable. Thankyou for sharing . ❤
Mine is higher in the Dr's surgery than at home so I've been monitoring for 3 weeks. I've been taking supplements, doing relaxing breathing and meditation, stopped HRT as that might have been the cause, cut carbs and doing a little exercise, and it's now down to normal.
Great doc..i just recorded 180/112 bp 2 days ago i will do all the 10 ways and report back in a week or 2s time,,thanks..vm..for your kindness and concern for man kind...
Thank you so much! This is the best advice I’ve heard about blood pressure. Normally doctors will throw pills at you, which is probably more for their benefit than ours. Putting us in a position to have appointments with them for life, which is residual income for them. Some doctors don’t take time (or want to) talk natural alternatives. Thank you so much💐
They can't or they'll loose their license. And it's unfair to assume that they know about alternative methods anyway. You need to seek out respected and proven alternative avenues.
RE: Salt My blood pressure is a little high so I am on 2.5 of amlodipine. What I believe I need to do is exercise more...I do about 15 of yoga almost everyday and that is it...I am in the car. Apart from this med, I do not have over the counter medicines in my house and for yrs., not even an aspirin. My weight is good as well as my heart. I am most vegetarian and have not had red meat in over 50yrs. My daily 30min meditation uses a mantra so I do not do the extra breathing. Minimum processed food and no junk or dairy. To the salt...a few summers ago, Trader Joe's had this amazing delicious potato chip. I decided to treat myself since I don't buy chips. After a few bags of chips, it turned out that I had doctor's appointment. That day in his office, mu blood pressure was really, really high and I couldn't understand why. My doctor mentioned a few foods that might have caused this... and nada. Finally, he asked about my salt intake. Then I remembered those most delicious and very salty chips. So that was it for me. I never did buy them again although I do occasionally cheat if at a party. This was my first time at your site. It was very helpful and I will try a few of your tips so thank you. Love to get off even this low dosage of amlodipine.
I will not use spinach again neither beetroots it nearly kill me with that oxcilate problem my kidneys was in serious trouble.cIndid not I didn't know anything about oxcilate until I read about it I will try anything else . Thank you 🇹🇹❤️
Thankyou..I have a phobia of having my BP taken for fear of the readings..it stops me from keeping appts with Drs..im going to try all these cupboard foods and the list of 10..im excited to see the results.
Many other experts I follow explain that controlling insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are very relevant in lowering blood pressure. I would start there if I was providing suggestions on lowering blood pressure. One way to test insulin is with a fasting insulin blood test. An optimal result would be around 5 uIU/mL.
All of these are great suggestions. Thank you for putting them into a list. I would add getting good sleep as a factor if there are issues with quantity, regularity, or possible apnea. But I have to point out that getting 5 grams of potassium per day is not anywhere as easy for everyone to get as you make it out to be. I eat all whole foods and as a 76-yr-old woman, I'd have to eat far more than my metabolism could handle to get to 5 grams. I struggle to get over 2 grams at times. In fact, that recommended 5 grams is often reduced in recommendations for women, and it takes even more focus as we get older. I challenge your listeners to really track their potassium to see how much food is needed to get to 5 grams. It's not "nothing" for many of us. Having said that, I have increased my potassium relative to previous years, lost weight, exercise just a bit more, and a few other measures, and my blood pressure has gone down considerably.
I was able to decrease my systolic blood pressure by 45 points by eating pant based diet(mostly raw). My mental clarity is best ever. I also think decreasing my intake of processed foods is a benefit because they are loaded with sodium and additives that are toxic for us. I feel so good I can’t stop
I have noticed coffee can raise my blood pressure, even decaf. Always the things we love. Salt as well, I can't imagine anyone arguing with that. Likely the fluid retention causes bp to go up.
refined salt is the enemy. if you consume unrefined salt, that is a total game changer. Unrefined salt has minerals, example is Real Salt, Celtic salt. Do not consume any salt that is PURE WHITE, that's the easiest way to tell it's been refined.
Tomato sauces are typically very high in (added) sodium (and sugars) whereas pureed tomatoes, chopped tomatoes and tomato paste tend not to have any added sodium or sugars.
I take beetroot powder if my blood pressure is up during the day. It really does help. I also take fish oil capsules for inflammation and blood pressure and it also helps.
@With-one-wing, I have beetroot powder, I mix it in my smoothies. How do you use your beetroot powder? I like to use it another way I don't already was a time to make a smoothie in the mornings. Be running late some morning trying to get the work by 8am. SMH
# 1 for me is stay vertical and move, even housework counts. I've had several health issues that kept me (so I thought) from doing this. One was hyperthyroid, which stole my muscles, so it's really difficult to even stand and wash dishes. Another thing was B12 deficiency along with low iron, making me feel tired and overwhelmed most of the time. At night, I've had trouble sleeping, so all I did all day was try to get back to sleep. A big part of my problems were side effects from BP medicine, but, in all honesty, the biggest problem was me, not believing that the body needs to just MOVE. I should have listened more to Jack Lalanne. I'm now 61 and trying not to be depressed about digging myself out of this hole. One step at a time.
So crazy because over the last year I’ve lost 60lbs, completely given up meat, almost complete vegan, walk almost 5-7 miles per day, never smoked or drank, started juicing daily and my pressure went up. My doctor was confused by that. But my cholesterol dropped 40 points! Copying the list, I appreciate the advice and will start MEDITATING!!
Congrats on the achievement! Sometimes when we lose weight (it's happened to me a few times), our bodies can go into stress mode because they're used to more food and stored fat. This messes with our hormone levels, and our bodies freak out, releasing more stress hormones like cortisol, which jacks up our BP. Meditation helps. Lite entertainment, laughter etc. Oh, and someone mentioned, make sure to check the sugar levels in everything you eat, 'cause it's one of the big culprits for high BP.
I got off BP meds with Carnavore and normalizing my weight and daily exercise. I do drink a lot of coffee and have some anxiety and I believe this causes fluctuation of my BP. Here and there I get BP constantly above 140/ so I'll take My BP med.
New subscriber here! Great info! I'm 66 yo, I've lost 60 pounds ( about 7 more to go) this year by doing clean Keto. And I do IF. I walk about 12-15 miles weekly. I feel GREAT! I DID go back home to Tx for a weekend visit, and we bought my favorite brand of pickles, my bp went up for DAYS! Love magnesium! Thanks for the info. ❤
My cardiologist doesn't recommend eating spinach as it tends to make the blood prone to stickiness and so can for some lead to clots. Your diet and weight loss are the most important elements to hone in on.
I’ve heard that lemon juice combines with oxalates so you don’t form kidney stones so put lemon juice in water or on your spinach or kale. Also something in milk combines with oxalates so have a little milk with your beets.
In just a week of focusing on potassium high foods, and mag at night for relaxation, add no salt except what is in a garlic butter I use on potatoes, and red lentil flour noodles, I don’t drink any alcohol, I am under weight at 5’5’ 105# but small boned. Blood work is the best my doctor as ever seen and told me gaining muscle mass will in prove my BP. He was shocked how my BP go from very high to too low on BP meds. Even extended release maximum dose had no effect. I meditate daily but adjusting to a new climate that I have never lived in. But I am already seeing go results with out the meds. I have never had a kidney stone so will see in a month or so. Just took my BP after a bowl of cooked black eyed pea soup with onion, garlic butter and a 5 minute walk to the store: 126/83 pulse 74 and I gain 2 pounds this week. Fruit for breakfast and apples with all natural peanut butter with sugar, oil or salt added. I’d add salad if I wanted to not gain weight. No processed foods like grains in my diet. Which make it hard to gain weight. THANK YOU DOC!!
My Cardiologist recommended the Mediterranean diet 3 months ago & I love it. I have lost 15 lbs along with walking about 45-75 minutes every other day. I had a hip transplant in May & a endarterectomy in August. My BP is now spot on!
Never had my BP this low. I usually have 122/74 these days, but during this 60-hour fast (so far), I’ve registered a 113/70. The gauge on my BP device is all the way down which is the best reading.
@@michelangelobuonarroti916 Your right, maybe next time he'll talk about both sugar raising ones blood pressure and the benefits of fasting to lower it.
Regular Keto (not a very low fat vegetarian version of Keto) caused a lady I met online to have a stroke because it's too high in Saturated fat and salt.
Dr Michael Moseley here in the UK recommended eating beetroot to lower blood pressure. I love beetroot, so will try and have some every day. He also invented the 5:2 diet to help people to lose weight - fasting 2 days a week - 500 calories for 2 days and normal meals for the rest of the week. I might try that too. Thanks for all the advice!x
I can confirm beet juice does lower BP as I used to juice beets and cucumbers. I stopped juicing though so now I don't eat as much beets as I used to but will try to get back into it for BP control by eating cooked beets.
Hi, I am emailing you from Hawaii. It was so classic because I was just going to say to you that beat juice and spinach does have a lot of oxalate. It’s all over the Internet I think if you use beet root juice moderately and not consistently and follow your doctors instructions. You will be a happy camper you were mentioning Meditation. There is a CD that I use for Meditation. I just don’t want to sit down for five minutes 10 minutes wherever I’m at and stop meditating so I’ll listen and you actually do breathing during this meditation it’s called brain by Kalidy meditation, revitalizing your brain with deep meditation and breathing itches by ilchi Lee. It takes in your breathing and a lot more than just Meditation. It has nothing to do with religion whatsoever but it’s just a thought that I put it out there. Great information I am beginning my fasting today following many of your suggestions. thanks a lot for listening Tricia in 😢😂Hawaii.
thank you very much for this time away from the video! What works for me since I’m so sensitive it’s a low salt blue zones, Mediterranean diet. 73 with peripheral artery disease and I stopped it in its tracks. I found that exercise was the only thing that helped control my blood pressure. I also take magnesium and eat a lot of potassium foods. I am not a vegetarian, but I am very careful with saturated fat. I just recently added more protein to my diet in the form of some cheese, two eggs, a week and even beef occasionally. My partner is on a keto diet to gain weight, but he eats some of my beans, brown rice and organic chicken along with his cheeseburgers. Aloha.
Absolutely! I had high blood pressure pressre 30 + years ago. My BP issues started again when I lost my job, gained weight and during the pandemic I lost a lot of people among my family and friends. I’m still working to come back from that. I realize that sounds like either a blues or country song, but it is real. I have lost the weight and I am actively working on the bp and employment.
Currently im on Bystolic 10mg a day. I've been using GABA, L-Arginine/L-Citrulline, Magnesium and K2 supplements to help get mine down. Now where I'm gonna focus is weight loss, exercise and Beet Root Juice!! I've never heard of beet root juice and I'm not looking forward to it but to lower my bp and possibly get off this bystolic, I'm absolutely gonna try it. Thanks so much for this list. You are absolutely correct. People take one thing and don’t put it in context. In reality a good keto diet plan is easy for most people to follow. With all plans you really do need to supplement. I’m very glad that you are practical, and you recognize the danger of medicine. Thank you very much is the first time I’ve listened to your channel. I love your practical approach.
Thank you for all your wonderful expertise and dedication. I use the pressure points you have shared in other videos to lower my BP in a pinch. I wonder how long a pressure point application lasts??? I also have increased my magnesium intake and exercise, something I never did consistently in my life. I found my old iPod with so many wonderful songs on it and so now exercising is a pleasant experience. I'm up to 2 miles a day I the treadmill. It helps with my balance too, something this 67 year old needs. Thanks again Dr Story😊
I have one of those but not that brand. My son used to have ear infections a lot and it kept me sane and going to the dr. All the time. He recently had a bug flew in his ear I was able to look in it and see the bug and then took him to urgent care. By the time we got there the bug came out because we swished it with some water but doc checked it out and everything was fine. She have some ear drops for irritation but it’s a good instrument to have when u have kids
I don’t think SALT is the problem at least not solely it. I love salt in all my food and eat salty but I use ONLY sea salt, Himalayan or Celtic. I use only organic coconut for all cooking and extra virgin olive oil for salads, green smoothies with some fruit and anti-inflammatory teas.
Another way to lower blood pressure that has helped me is to sit and breathe in a relaxed manner for 10 minutes prior to taking my blood pressure has lowered it considerably. Usually at the doctor’s office they take your BP right after you walk in. Normally at the doctors office my BP is so much higher then when I take it at home because the doctor does not give me that 10 min time to relax. For gradual and effective healthy weight loss I recommend “the starch solution” by Dr. John McDougall or his book: McDougall Program for Maximum Weight loss. Cutting out processed foods, salt, sugar and oil will help people get extra weight off. I listened to a podcast once with a BP expert and he definitely recommended cutting out salt and also increasing potassium. Once of his recommendations was actually drinking V8 juice for potassium. I now buy the low sodium version of V8 vegetable juice to drink.
I just quit my medicine was taking blood pressure pills for 1 year but it was giving me headaches trying things naturally now green tea is very good 😌☺️
A weird thing is everytime I take a 6 oz red wine occasionally, that's the day my blood pressure shows 117/74/57 most of that day. I don't do any specific diet but I exercise a lot, daily lap swim, 1 hour walk and resistance training with bands at home and I fast daily from 14-19 hours variation.. blood glucose always stable below 100 fasting. Am 71
What I keep hearing in the fasting/higher protein/higher fat on salt is that it is usually that the potassium and sodium are not balanced, and not in most cases) that there is too much sodium but that the diet is lacking potassium.
1. Lower Weight
2. Lower Salt
3. Increase Potassium
4. Take Magnesium
5. Fish oil (omega 3)
6. Stop alcohol
7. Do exercise
8. Meditation/Deep Breathing
9. Attitude Adjustments
10. Take spinach and beet root juice
Thank you so much 💓
Thanks! that helps a lot!

Thanks for your advice. Don't forget to pray.
To Yvonnekalkhoven3459 wat bedoel je met ‘natural blood pressure capsules’?
Thanks for you comments. Good luck with the stress
Yes. My issue was how the meds make me feel: dizzy, lackadaisical, just a “whatever” attitude which I don’t want. I do a carnivore diet (5 years) which has made my body beautiful and mind sharp, so I don’t want to eat fruits/veggies. Although last year I tried and didn’t like hibiscus tea and my cardiologist said “that doesn’t work.”
I’ll be 75 soon and I’m determined to wean myself off my bp meds (metoprolol).
Smart person, you are right
Yes they are! I’m dismayed that they are telling me the same thing I heard 40 years ago!
I'm so encouraged by your success story. Thank you.
Congrats to you both!
I’m also encouraged by your story! Keep pressing on!😊

My liver enzymes went back to normal fasting after 4pm till 9am the next day!!! And keto
Me too Lost the weight without any strenuous exercise, 60 pounds 5 months
Starting 8am breakfast and lunch at 2 pm. Hopeful…
It also makes you feel great too doesn't it? I get so happy when I fast
Harder to do though when you get older. For me anyway.

I've been doing carnivore/low carb diet and no longer need bp meds. Bp was around 180/100 and last night it was only 127/74. Yay me!
Wow! Congrats on your success. I am looking for a way to bring my bp down. Taking 4 meds and still getting readings such as 145/93. Ready to faithfully follow these recommendations and thinking positive!

My moms BP was very high for years even with meds; she quit drinking soda; she drank about 6 cans a day. She has normal BP now at 81!
My mom is 84. I reduced her sugar and carbs intake drastically. Only use Himalayan pink salt and olive oil for our cooking. Almost no fruits, consume mainly on lean meat , fish and veg. What brand of the tea do you drink, please??

Good for you! Music is a wonderful way to address stress etc! Sax music is calming and mellow lol
I love that ~ definitely get back to that saxophone (it will enhance your life in many ways)! Our world needs more music right now! 😊
When my son was choosing his instrument at school (age 11), I suggested the alto sax because I love listening to it. He went on to get an honours music degree. Your neighbours are fortunate!!
My sax is unusual in that it’s a contralto in C
Yes, I know what you mean. I used to play the clarinet, another reed instrument requiring breath control. I'll have to take it up again.

Yes hibiscus and lowering caffeine intake is good for me plus a juice drink with beetroot in. I tried Spirulina in tablet form. 3 a day. Blood pressure down by 15. Doctor was surprised so hope this continues to be ok for me.

How much potassium do you take? My cardiologist discouraged it.
Fasting, I lost 20lbs in one year. 137 down to 117. I'm on an 18 hour fast daily.

Incredible info! Definitely subscribed! I did the keto diet along with intermittent fasting eating in 12 hour increments.. morning meal at 7am and not eating until 7pm..for example
It’s lowered my blood pressure from t60/90 130/84 and it’s totally cleaned up my cholesterol problem
I do Grounding/Earthing walking barefoot. 30-45 mins daily. 85 days so far:) Helps lower BP.
Lost 52 lbs. Off BP meds. Mediterasian foods, exercise after every meal, glucose normal.
Wow your BP sounds great!
Yeah carnivore is great but you do really need to supplement with magnesium i take 400mg every night before bed sleeping well also it seems to have a calming affect the next day

I'm so glad I'm not the only saying and thinking this. "Doctors" just give you meds and no alternatives. It's frustrating!

Thank you!
I totally agree with the information you have shared here about lowering blood pressure. I have proved all these for myself. Very useful vlog. Thanks
I was able to decrease my systolic blood pressure by 45 points by eating pant based diet(mostly raw). My mental clarity is best ever. I also think decreasing my intake of processed foods is a benefit because they are loaded with sodium and additives that are toxic for us. I feel so good I can’t stop
Awesome!!!! So excited for you.
Even decaffeinated coffee????
Are u sure?😮
Tomato sauces are typically very high in (added) sodium (and sugars) whereas pureed tomatoes, chopped tomatoes and tomato paste tend not to have any added sodium or sugars.

Have you tried CoQ10? I just started on it. Supposedly drops blood pressure about 19 points. Hope this helps.
Make sure you aren’t drinking herbal teas with liquorice in them - it can increase your BP by increasing potassium excretion.

Yes, I take fish oils and I take magnesium at night to aid with sleep.. I get in 10,000 to 15,000 steps daily ..I agree with this info.
HIIT exercise helped mine more than anything I have tried so far.
Up your protein with quality meat and saturated animal fats for weight gain, and add in resistance training to build muscle and bone. ;0)
You haven't eaten anything for 2 days?
Yeah, he left off fasting, which is most likely the best way to lower BP. Not all that easy for most people, though.
I did 5 days of fasting. The chronic inflammation I had on my chest for more than a year disappeared.
@@michelangelobuonarroti916 Your right, maybe next time he'll talk about both sugar raising ones blood pressure and the benefits of fasting to lower it.
@lindywheeler4192 I have read in articles that sugar raises blood pressure more than salt does
Thank you, I find that certain teas lower blood pressure such as hibiscus and dandelion tea. Ginger also lowers blood pressure.
Thank you so much for these 10 methods of lowering blood pressure.
❤ Vegan. Exercise daily. No alcohol. No smoking. Pet owner. No medical problems. No weight problems. Carefree. ❤
Thank God. 🙏🏽
Aloha.
What’s your favorite potassium rich foods of choice?
@@ReasonablySpeaking9808 veggie chili with beans and tomatoes
@@MarilynMayaMendoza that’s sounds delicious!
I totally believe that negative attitude and emotions really contribute to elevated blood pressure.
Can't I eat beets (in apple cider vinegar) & get the same result!? I only ever hear about the juice lowering BP. I love beets💗
Dr. Story you sir are the VERY BEST thing going on. You tube thank you so much for your info
So nice of you
What type of magnesium, there's so many types of magnesium
Currently im on Bystolic 10mg a day. I've been using GABA, L-Arginine/L-Citrulline, Magnesium and K2 supplements to help get mine down. Now where I'm gonna focus is weight loss, exercise and Beet Root Juice!! I've never heard of beet root juice and I'm not looking forward to it but to lower my bp and possibly get off this bystolic, I'm absolutely gonna try it. Thanks so much for this list. There may even be more things on it that i try but I'm starting with those three, lolz. Thanks again, Doc!!
Be cool, don’t eat it everyday! Just start off slow, not gun ho!!!!
@@ReasonablySpeaking9808 Excellent point! Thank you so much for the response. I definitely start off too gung ho and end up burning myself out.
@@christysivley me too! That’s why I spotted your sentiments right away. Many have told me to slow it down, and now I’m in-tune and am listening. I got you! 🌸
I tried diet and exersize ontop of a busy life for years , keto is 1st that has helped me get started loosing , 50# in 4 months. Now i keto cycle , I am still loosing. Slower but Its happening
THanks for your video. I found it extremely useful. Even if half of them work, it can make a big difference.
Glad it helped!
I play pickleball four times a week. My Fitbit shows I do about 600 active minutes. It has greatly helped my bp and I love it! My heart rate goes to 135 sometimes. I am a 68 male.
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much! That was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
So base information, it's almost public service!
1000 thumbs up.
Very useful information given, thanks so much for beautiful video 🎉🎉🎉🤝👌
Been lowering salt. Weight loss has been rough for me. 320 down to 270, up to 290 down to 245 up to 270 and so on. Got on cutting salt.
Healthier if you can make your own.
I just quit my medicine was taking blood pressure pills for 1 year but it was giving me headaches trying things naturally now green tea is very good 😌☺️
Thank you sharing this information! Have a great day!✌️
Thank you too
Thank you Doc,this is quite helpful, trying to find a way of controlling my blood pressure naturally,I’m starting on it,will give you feedback 😊🙏
Am 71
Very good information on lowering blood pressure. Thank you ❤❤❤
What I keep hearing in the fasting/higher protein/higher fat on salt is that it is usually that the potassium and sodium are not balanced, and not in most cases) that there is too much sodium but that the diet is lacking potassium.
Great information, just what I needed to hear 👍
i bougtht that book and it did help but I never made it through the whole book~ the first 3 or 4 chapters helped😁
