    Perhaps it's because I've spent more time in halfslices than anything else, but as a rapidly progressing beginner I have to say the Scorch L makes me feel much more in control, fluid, and connected to the river than the other top creekers I've tried. I'm 6'2, 208, with size 12's. This boat fits like it was moulded around me, and edging is so intuitive with this boat it's incredible.

    Great review like always
    I am looking for the Scorch. The problem is that as per manufacturer specs with my 186lbs I am at the very upper end of the M and very low end of the L. Looking at the volume I think the M has enough.
    I am an intermediate paddler of class 3-4+ doing mostly low volume runs and a lot of boulder rivers.
    But I also want to unlook the speed of the boat. I do not want to overload it.

      I struggled to find any cons to the medium at my weight only thing that kinda stood out was it didn’t like to rub rocks if you watch you can see few times it just came off rock style Boofs little awkward with that rail hanging up in rocks so flare type boofs off rocks could cause some issues but the pros far outweigh that minor issue

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 года назад +1

      Well normally I would say yes but looks like we are close to the same size and because of the design of the scorch I think you would be better suited for the M the bow rocker and sporty feel at heavier weight really unlocks the features of it but still I’m suggesting try to demo both and let me know what you think I like hearing feedback on this stuff..

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 года назад +1

      It’s definitely more sporty feel
      Then the 9r2 but not as fast and as user friendly as the 9r2 I thought the 9r2 was very predictable and smooth down River and fast the scorch it very aggressive and zippy and has a better rocker profile and that back edge is something have to tune in to truly unlock this kayak and at you weight you will be able to paddle either the medium or Large but 90% sure you will want the large

    It looks like it could also surf ocean waves. The stern is a little like a half slice, without too much rocker and the bow has rocker that would help avoid pearling. The rails would grab the wave and maybe not need so much rudder to avoid side surfing the wave.
