- Struggling to cut clay pots for your fish? In this video I'll show you how to cut clay pots with clean edges that will be safe and attractive in your home aquarium.
These half pots are particularly useful as shelters and spawning sites for breeding dwarf cichlids and cave spawning fish. Животные
The tape line is a good trick. I do this process over the sink with the faucet set to a drip, and use a compact hand hacksaw with the 24 TPI blade it came with for around five bucks at the discount tool chain store. Make the cut under the drip to keep the blade clean. I can halve a three inch pot in a couple minutes.
just what i was looking for, thank you.
Thanks for this, very informative
Thank you! Very helpful video😊👍
Just the video I wanted to see, and not only great information, the video is expertly presented and produced. 2 Thumbs Up :)
Very informative and well explained! In really like the subjects you choose for your video's.
Very good useful video
Im so glad i found you i have a tall ceramic lamp i want shorten i will try you method. 😁
Nice. I'm sure you could also use the hot water cold water trick for cutting glass also.
Thank you for the demonstration. I have been watching your videos today. With the idea of cutting some flower pots for a breeding project. Your video just took the guess work out of it, thank you so much.
Thanks for this! Using to make a toad abode.
Perfect I even have all the stuff except for the pot LOL
I broke a plant pot so I sanded the edges down to use it as a fish cave. Not as clean cut as this because it was a random break but it works well enough.
Hello sir my ram any time I have from the store like couple day they die I don’t know why can you tell me what your way can keep the ram thank you
Thank you so much! Do you think it would be good to have the pot wet or soaked first?
Soaking the clay might keep the dust down. I think it reduces unintentional fractures too.
How about for a bigger clay pot like 15-20" 22lbs
Angle grinder would be my approach
My pot wheel keeps burning up and I put water. Is it because it's on low setting? Do I higher it to 4 or 5?
Hard to say without knowing what you're using but I found I had to use a higher RPM. Wheel burning up sounds more like its too fine an abrasive for the material you're trying to cut. I would double check you have a cutting wheel appropriate for the material
Hi. Can this tool cut thin ceramic like a coffee mug?
With an appropriate abrasive wheel, I would think so. Though I've never tried it. Be very careful.
@@MakeMoreFish Thank you.
I messed up so bad.. I cleaned my pots with foam soap.. I rinsed out the pots and out them in with my flowerhorns. I saw foam coming out and quickly removed them. Didn't know I wasn't supposed to use soap. Are my fish going to die?
I hope not. Quick water changes
What’s the name of the blade ?
cutoff or cutting wheels
Do you think this setup would work on a glazed ceramic vase?
Also, thank you! This video is perfect!
Most likely, but I would read into the right type of abrasive wheel to cut glazed ceramic
Hahaha 🤪. You just need a penknife to scribe a line on both side. Then just keep knocking the pot on the hard table and it will crack into 2 pieces. Simple.
please post a video
I hit the top of mine with a hammer works fine.
