To be fair to Jack and Rose(and James Cameron), if you're in that kind of life-or-death situation after having just escaped a sinking ship, you're not going to be thinking straight, especially with that frigid cold impairing your thoughts. The chances of you thinking to try tying the life jacket under the board are probably pretty low.
Not to mention that Adam and Jamie each have years of experience building improvised devices and complex comprehension of physics (over 30 years between them! as the intro likes to say). Jack was a 20 yr old artist and Rose was a 17 yr old aristocrat in 1912, it seems a lot to expect of them to think, "let's take this life jacket off and tie it to a door..."

When a great Director is game for having a cute little role as a janitor in a T.V shows proves what a great guy Cameron is. Both Spielberg and Cameron is so down to earth that they dont mind having a cameo on different films. And yes of course Jackson too while eating carrots 🤣

I do think Cameron got the core of the criticism--the board should've just been significantly smaller so that this didn't keep people from suspending disbelief. The story is trying to do one thing, so the prop should've reflected that, not the other way around
My mother's boyfriend, a merchant marine and a doctor of physical therapy, was in the North Atlantic twice in only a life jacket. The second time, he was in the water for more than a day and half. The jacket had a bag and being a sea men he was wearing heavy pants. He lived and was awarded the highest honor of the Merchant Marine A Silver Star. Later he worked with a company in Delaware, Space Shoe. It amused me because I drove by their Mail Box and entrance many times. SPACE SHOE. The made the boots for the Shuttle Crews.

Was the ice water being re-circulated? Cold water flowing (or being moved by tidal forces) would sap heat more quickly from a body in the water.

They always forget one thing THE WIND, the water in your clothes evaporates and takes lots of heat with it, wind dramatically increases that, you all know what happens when you sweat and get some wind blowing on you.
Actually, the night titanic sunk is known to be a clear night with no wind, that is one of the reasons they didn't see the iceberg: the ocean was totally calm, with no waves hitting the ice

I mean come on, Titanic was a disastrous event in human history, lots of victims and traumatized passengers but it suddenly got turned into a love story, lol.
That said, correct me if I'm wrong whether they have uploaded it already or not, but considering they uploaded collaborations, I hope they also uploaded the Green Hornet collaboration, the exploding cement truck, making diamonds out of explosions, exploding turkey, turkey experiments and that one turkey experiment that involved crushing a Frankenstein ballistics gel of a dog.

@@richardelder6519 Hi, thanks for replying. I had to ask because if I were to be frank, this channel's playlist is a mess and somehow, searching around due to the titles and differences makes it even harder, I mean, just look at this video.
Some of their posts has the season and episode mentioned, this one on the other hand just had Rose and Jack as the title along with many others, if I weren't a fan of Mythbusters, I wouldn't even know that this was the episode they are talking about, nor get interested in it in the first place. e.g. click to watch the content.
That said, thanks for replying, I guess, I really just had to search through one by one.

Hmm, yes after the traumatic and exhausting experience of being on a sinking ship, being plunged into to the freezing north Atlantic and almost certainly feeling the effects of cold water shock in near pitch black conditions I too am surprised that Jack didn't think to take Rose's life jacket and tie it underneath the board.
