I’ve gotten a lot out of the Green Turtle Talisman. After unloading all spells you tend to be low on stamina which limits how much damage you can start a fight with and leaves you vulnerable when you’re out.
Using the other soreseal gets you 5 Vigor, the 5 STR to use MLGS, 5 levels to END for armor and stamina, and 5 DEX for weapon reqs. Depending on what you need more, it might be the better soreseal (Don't use two unless you want to have 0 defenses, or possibly negative).
I combined both on my high level int/faith build and it worked well for exploration and most bosses but against malenia I had to take one off for my own sanity.
It also helps that Radagon's Soreseal can be gotten _way_ earlier than Marika's. I'd personally build around that than Marika's unless I wanna do a mixed scaling thing like using Prince of Death staff at 80/80 int/fth. Sorry for necro-posting.
At the imp tower, you can also use the imp summon to access it. Available if you go to main gate of raya lucaria, turn around and run down the bridge, where there will be some wolves and a merchant further down.
I feel you're underselling endurance here. You can only chain cast as long as you have stamina, and a higher endurance will also let you equip some heavier armor to further offset the extra damage you'll be taking from the soreseal
Yeah but you only need like 2-3 casts to kill most of the time, which will pretty much happen at base lvl. Not much need when all ypu gotta do is wait 1 sec to get full Stam
Another advantage of Marika's soreseal is that the +arcane makes your adult's moon blade a bit better and allows you to hit the minimum requirements for the underrated big bubble spell
5:10 you can also make the imps fight each other by throwing crystal darts at them which are relatively easy to craft or find by the time you reach this area incase you don't have any bewitching branches to save you visiting the merchant 👍
Radagon Soreseal 5 STR 5 DEX also completely counteracts the "negative" of reducing your absobtions because defense (gained from stats) trumps absorption so long as the absorption is not negative it won't matter if you have enough defense. Plus it helps you use things that scale really well with int but have higher physical stat minimums like Dark Moon Greatsword.
For the Graven Mass Talisman, you can also use the summonable imps to unlock the tower (if you go to the academy site of grace that's after the barriers and follow the bridge leading off to the east, you'll find a merchant at the end of it selling the ashes - simply weaken the enemy and then let the summons finish it off).
Agreed. Is especially annoying because he has that annoying "I grew up watching European youtbers" fake over enthusiastic cadence they all pretend to have. Super obnoxious. Wish people would just be themselves instead of a caricature.
Hitting the imps with 2-3 crystal darts will also cause them to frenzy and attack whatever is nearest. Works on all golems and other such constructs, very handy with the watchdog statues.
1:32 No, the HARD CAP means you can’t level it up further (ie: 99 Int). The soft cap is 80 but those are different things (soft cap is basically when leveling after you receive a much lower bonus to actual stats)
The easiest way to get 2 imps fighting is by using the Fanged Imps summon. You can buy this summon from the merchant near the Raya Lucaria Academy's gate, from the inside
FYI. The imp puzzle just requires you to summon the fanged imps and let them fight, that's it. It can be purchased from the trader west of Raya lucaria main gate.
Amazing videos man, this game is so complex that, when someone like you brakes it all down , it's just a treat. Honestly I was pretty much there, but you just put a cherry on top of my build with that primal blade.
For someone who has reached the hard cap of cast speed at 70 dex, I tried comparing the cast speed with and without Radagon’s icon and there’s practically no change. We can then take that off the menu and use other talismans. If you reached that cap at least.
Depending on your starting class Radagon's soreseal should easily be superior because even if you're running a pure sorcery build it still helps to have a backup melee weapon like a Moonveil where you can benefit from the extra strength and dex to meet the weapon requirements. Compared to Marika's where you're essentially wasting 10 points on Faith and Arcane that's not going to get much or even any use. Marika's may provide 10 levels worth of Mind and Int but Radagon's can provide up to 20 levels worth of melee stats which can free up actual levels to pump into Int and Mind
This is such a good point!! I’m going to respec for this. I could get to 60 INT so I can use my end game staff and comet azure while being able to use moonveil. I wouldn’t use arcane or faith at least on this character anyways so all points would be well spent! Thanks for the idea😊
It's far more efficient to use the Radagon's Soulseal, a potential 20 levels saved, say if you wanted to use better armor or like the Dark Moon Greatsword or the flail from Astel. Plus because it raises defensive stats, the increased damage is mitigated, especially at lower levels.
I know it would take some time, but a video about armor reductions versus their weights would be cool, especially for sorcerous builds. since we only have so much endurance to work with and a forth slot talisman option could open up so much more!...
I think one thing to keep in mind about HP percentages is that it sacrifices MORE health the higher level you are. So really the advice would be the opposite: use it at low levels since it wont take nearly as much hp away, but stay away from it at higher levels and late game content because youll lose wayyyy more hp. Same goes with the RSS and MSS
So frustrating to be locked out of the magic scorpion talisman because I did the Ranni quest asap. Not cause I'm good at dodging just from a "I dislike being locked out of something before I even knew I could get it"
Unfortunately you’ll find that happens a lot in this game lol, but this is why there’s the option to go onto ng+,++, and so forth. I’ve played up to journey 4 on one char and journey 2 on another, have every trophy, and I watch a lot of content about the game and there are still places and items I’m just learning exist
I absolutely prefer that fromsoft not give a fuck if we find anything rather than a Ubisoft game with a checklist and giant arrows pointing you to literally every piece of content.
Radagon’s sorseal gives you, more health, more stamina, higher equip load, fulfills stat requirements on weapons and is accessible at the start of the game and doesn’t require you to kill a single enemy. Marika’s gives you more FP and more spell damage and is a very endgame talisman.
Godfrey icon is only when you charge the spell not just if it can be charged. Have tested that extensively. Also the magic scorpion icon boosts all but rock sling 🤔
the Graven-mass talisman The puzzle can also be done with the imp ashes that you can aquire in Raya Lucaria Academy Gate front just go down the path around it and "DONT" Speak with the seal you will pass some wolves and at the almost very end is a Vendor that sells the Imp Ashes further down the road is another bloodhound encounter but i doubt many people have fun fighting those. anyway back on topic the seal also unlocks if the imp ashes kill one of the imps near the tower
@5:23 Hmmm, never even thought about that. Awesome. I just used Imp Ashes. I love how so many things can be accomplished by my than one method in this game.
You can absolutely take advantage of all or almost all 20 levels of Radagon’s Sorseal if you plan on using basically any physical weapon alongside your casting tool. Marika’s, on the other hand, is almost impossible to make work unless you’re going for a very abnormal multi-casting tool build. Whether or not you should use either at a high level is a whole different conversation, though. The increased damage taken can significantly impact the number of hits it takes to kill you, especially in conjunction with a Scorpion charm. Personally, I’d recommend against it in the endgame as long as you can keep your vigor above 40 without sacrificing other main features of your build.
I think a good talisman for any build for that 4th slot personally would be the one where it gives back your stamina faster since you need a good amount for spells as a sort of quality of life thing, I think it’s a turtle talisman but not sure but it’s very useful for quick recovery for dodging or just more dps faster.
I"m not at all convinced by your argument in favor of Marika's sorceal. It gives you 5 mind that stargazers doesn't, but that has to be realocated to vigor to make up for using Marika's, and I somehow doubt 5 vigor makes up for the increased damage you'll be taking. In other words, unless you value faith or arcane, for something like a fire sorcery or bubble spell, I think it's strictly worse than stargazers, at best it's equal.
Did some testing and I think Meteorite Shower is considered a Charged Spell. The Albinaurics used to take 728 per Meteor with 55 INT, Meteorite Staff, Graven Mass and the SpellBlade Set and the Damage +Infinite FP Wonder Physick- but now it's hitting for 979 with Godfrey's Icon.
If youre running sorc you might as well full send into mind and int, its not like you need to be in range and if you do youll likely not have enough points for vigor without full sending to not get one shot without sacrificing for def talismans
Please stop telling people that Lusat's Staff has an additional 8% damage increase. It doesn't. I commented on your previous Staff video with the testing I did to disprove this, and it's quite replicable if you would like to verify it. All you need is to have another staff with within single digits Sorcery Scaling as Lusat's to test this (perhaps Prince of Death). If you have a second character that hasn't upgraded Lusat's yet, you can back up your save and test a respec easily. Meteorite Staff and Lusat's+4 have similar Sorcery Scaling at 60 Int, with Lusat's being just a few points lower. They're close enough that if Lusat's had an 8% damage buff on top of its scaling, it would deal more damage with Pebble than Meteorite. Since it does NOT, then we know that it does not have an additional damage buff. Thank you for reading, I know you put a lot of work into these videos and do a lot of research, and I'm only bothering to even say anything because I watch a lot of them. Be well.
I'm a little sad more people don't take advantage of the Primal Glintstone Blade. The amount of spells this lets you get off is insane. It's just all around quality of life, without leaving blank space past 40 mind that cant be restored in one mana potion. Primal Glintstone Blade is my swap talisman. I mainly use that, but if I am using sword arts a lot, (see Moonveil) I'll swap to the Carian Filigree Crest (does not effect Spells) Or the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, which leaves me sitting at a comfortable 31 physical bonus instead of 14 with the scorpion charm or soreseal.
@@asain3586 15% hp for 25% extra mana, after a certain point you gain way more health than you do mana from the same number of points. It's much easier to get extra health than it is extra mana! And increasing your mana this method doesn't mess with your potions, which stop getting stronger after +12.
If you equip the staff with increased fp cost in your offhand and something like Moon Queens staff in your main, not only do you boost damage but prevent the cost increase
I would argue that radagons soreseall is better, unless you are going pure magic with no side wepons. Reason being that you get use out of all 20 levels. Dex = faster casting speed + less levels for minimum requirements on str wepons + more damage for Dex wepons Strength = more damage for str wepons + less levels for minimum requirements on str wepons Vigor = more hp is always welcome Endurance = more stamina is always useful + heavier armour is never bad
I tested it today - Godfrey icon doesn't give you any extra damage just because an attack is chargeable - you actually have to charge the attack to get any benefit
the % damage increase from Magic Scorpion charm is worth a LOT more damage than 5 int and 5 mind. You could take 5 points away from int and put it into mind and still have more damage with only 75 int and MSC than if you used Maricka's soreseal to get to 80 int.
Nice video but can you tell us the requirements before moving to each location? example you will need this summon or this item to acquire this talisman.
You can also summon imp ashes to fight the imps to get the graven mass talisman and best part is you dont have to wait for them to kill the imp just hit it and then you can kill the imp. The seal is gonna be gone and you can climb up and get it.
I think the thing that makes spell memory kind of pointless is that the more spells you have, the harder it is to cycle to the one you need when you need it. I find myself already leaving 2-5 slots empty just so that I can cycle the 3-4 spells I might actually use faster. This would be easy to fix though, make it so that while you can only memorize new spells at a Grace, you can go into the inventory at any time and toggle spell slots "on" or "off" at will (they'd maybe turn red or something?). What this would allow you to do is fill up your max memory at a Grace (retaining that balance function that you can't pull out ANy spell without doing so), but then you could disable the ones you mostly don't use, while still having them in reserve if you find yourself needing them. This means max memory is always handy to have, because it allows you to pack more niche options.
@@asain3586 That creates a seriously unfair situation for non-keyboard players though. I think their goal is to keep the control schemes fairly well balanced.
I like the radagin soreseal cause it also increases str and dex meaning I don't have to spec into those to use the moonveil and Darkmoon with my starting class of samurai
Brother, that's everyone making faith builds rn. For PvE the best faith build is probably ungabunga with supplemented faith (e.g. Rykard's Sword + a few support spells) since incantations SUCK at PvE dmg. So basically the most effective faith build is (sadly) likely just leveling up to a breakpoint of e.g. 40, using Rykard's for melee and Lightning Spear for range, as well as throwing out buffs whenever they run out. Kinda sucks that all "good" incantations suffer from cripplingly long cast times, as well as surprisingly low damage or range. For PvP I'd recommend getting your main weapon Endurance and using that to prevent getting staggered out of your cast animations.
The wiki says Godfrey’s Icon increases damage of charged spells and skills by 15%. Is it 12% or 15%? Love the vids, by far my favorite Elden Ring channel.
2 minutes and 16 seconds into this video. I cannot wait any longer I have to ask the question: What on EARF are those devastating 1 hand swords you are power stancing??? Played strength on my first play through and dex on my second... So forgive me if its an obvious answer. Thanks. Great video so far as of 2 minutes and 16 seconds :P
If you are going from the first vigor softcap of 40 to 50 using the extra 10 levels you get from Marika's Soreseal you go from 1450 to 1704 but with the extra 15% damage taken you effectively have 1448.4 health which is slightly less than you would have had without the soreseal. So you effectively have the same amount of vigor, the same amount of mind, and the same amount of int and you're using up 1 talisman slot. Marika's soreseal just isn't worth it as a lategame talisman.
I couldn't stop laughing at Godefroy because he sounds exactly like the weird featureless fleshtone meme mannequin head that says "succ" version of Godfrey.
Personally, My headcanon for why Godefroy exists was that Godrick had too many spare parts laying around, so he decided to graft them together to make another version of himself. This body double would then be sent out on errands, and tasks that he simply couldn't be bothered with. Godrick: "What's that? Meetin' at midday? Send Godefroy, he'll handle it!"
I like Moonveil and Dark Moon Greatsword as sidearms, so Radagon’s is better than Marika’s for me because it’s 20 free levels, letting me reach the requirements. Marika’s can only ever give you 15, the extra 5 being if you’re a FTH or ARC hybrid with INT
If you talk to Rinni once, after getting the blade, it throws the WHOLE questline off. People don't fill in all the blanks with other videos. You go to watch a video like this and you lose out. Because of one line with her, trying to turn in the dagger, it's locked after doing all that stuff....
Radagan's scarseal is much better than Marika's scarseal. If you run Astrologer, you need only level up to 5 below the requirements of your weapon, making use of both Str and Dex, whereas with Marika's scarseal, unless you're doing a hybrid build, the arcane and faith are always wasted.
I’ve been using basically all boost talismans that lower your damage negation because I didn’t realize how much they actually do. I just thought the enemies always hit that hard... 🤦♂️
Yes this was made before the update but its not changed anything here except the FP talisman at the end is even better now.

Did you just find the hard mode bh combining the 2 talismans?
A note about the magic scorpion: it increases all magic damage, which includes your weapons.
The other way you can do it is to summon the imp of ashes
This video could have been 4 minutes long if you didn't like the sound of your own voice too much

Agreed. Is especially annoying because he has that annoying "I grew up watching European youtbers" fake over enthusiastic cadence they all pretend to have. Super obnoxious. Wish people would just be themselves instead of a caricature.

@@JerdMcLean Just put the fries in my bag and quit the yapping
Hitting the imps with 2-3 crystal darts will also cause them to frenzy and attack whatever is nearest.
Works on all golems and other such constructs, very handy with the watchdog statues.
1:32 No, the HARD CAP means you can’t level it up further (ie: 99 Int). The soft cap is 80 but those are different things (soft cap is basically when leveling after you receive a much lower bonus to actual stats)
4:20 had me CRYING because I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one that was so confused LOL
The easiest way to get 2 imps fighting is by using the Fanged Imps summon. You can buy this summon from the merchant near the Raya Lucaria Academy's gate, from the inside
I did the same
When getting the mass graven talisman, you can also summon your fanged imps to break the seal for albinuric rise
Please keep making videos, you are both informative and highly entertaining
So, the way I see it:
All round: Radagon's Icon, Godfrey's Icon, Graven-Mass
For the part with the imps. Just use crystal darts instead. They charm the imps and they fight each other just the same.
Thank you! I was so mad when I realized I missed the Magic Scorpion Charm. Now I feel better.
For someone who has reached the hard cap of cast speed at 70 dex, I tried comparing the cast speed with and without Radagon’s icon and there’s practically no change. We can then take that off the menu and use other talismans. If you reached that cap at least.
If you're willing to give up a talisman slot, you can take 40 dex, and radagon's icon gives you virtual 30 dex points of cast speed
My dude what armor set are you rocking?
I absolutely adore both you and your insightful Elden Ring videos.

I give you a like for the intro alone, well done
I think one thing to keep in mind about HP percentages is that it sacrifices MORE health the higher level you are. So really the advice would be the opposite: use it at low levels since it wont take nearly as much hp away, but stay away from it at higher levels and late game content because youll lose wayyyy more hp. Same goes with the RSS and MSS
So frustrating to be locked out of the magic scorpion talisman because I did the Ranni quest asap. Not cause I'm good at dodging just from a "I dislike being locked out of something before I even knew I could get it"
Same
Unfortunately you’ll find that happens a lot in this game lol, but this is why there’s the option to go onto ng+,++, and so forth.
You can also use crystal darts on the imps instead of the more valuable bewitching branch
Watched ur vids for monster hunter and they all were on point and now for eldin ring. Best content on youtube.
Amazing video! Also the cut to Godrick screaming made me choke on my coffee cause I started laughing. Well done lol
Be well.
Broh ur commentary is the best lol. Love your guides! Please make more and more content.
Watched so many elden ring vids you've made finally pulled the trigger and subbed tybfor the content!
But my hp though
@@asain3586 15% hp for 25% extra mana, after a certain point you gain way more health than you do mana from the same number of points. It's much easier to get extra health than it is extra mana! And increasing your mana this method doesn't mess with your potions, which stop getting stronger after +12.
If you equip the staff with increased fp cost in your offhand and something like Moon Queens staff in your main, not only do you boost damage but prevent the cost increase
video was funny af and informative, thanks man keep up the great work
I would argue that radagons soreseall is better, unless you are going pure magic with no side wepons. Reason being that you get use out of all 20 levels.
Dex = faster casting speed + less levels for minimum requirements on str wepons + more damage for Dex wepons
Strength = more damage for str wepons + less levels for minimum requirements on str wepons
Vigor = more hp is always welcome
Endurance = more stamina is always useful + heavier armour is never bad
Would you ever do a video just on best leveling options for sorcery + etc.? Love these videos! They help tremendously
A video not about a katana.. I’m auto interested
I tested it today - Godfrey icon doesn't give you any extra damage just because an attack is chargeable - you actually have to charge the attack to get any benefit
Im leaving a like just for the first 10 seconds alone 😂
Some times using ragadons and Mario’s scorseal will bring you really boosted up at the risk of extra extra damage
Does godfreys icon also work with the darkmoon greatsword?
Wait so godfrey increase damage of the spell even when not charging it. So carian grandure or peircer lvl 1 still gets that 12%?
You can't call 80 the hard cap, that would simply be incorrect
Hard cap is 99
the % damage increase from Magic Scorpion charm is worth a LOT more damage than 5 int and 5 mind. You could take 5 points away from int and put it into mind and still have more damage with only 75 int and MSC than if you used Maricka's soreseal to get to 80 int.
Imo you can just farm the lvls and not use marika talisman and use something else
Nice video but can you tell us the requirements before moving to each location? example you will need this summon or this item to acquire this talisman.
Is there a video of the armour he is wearing?
Man...John Oliver has really gotten into Elden Ring!
You can also summon imp ashes to fight the imps to get the graven mass talisman and best part is you dont have to wait for them to kill the imp just hit it and then you can kill the imp. The seal is gonna be gone and you can climb up and get it.
Godfrey Icon, Radagon Icon, Graven Mass, and the Scorpion is nuts for level 200+
Or set it like mmorpg for keyboard user. Letting us bind every spells to 1~9 number. Life could be better for mages lol
@@asain3586 That creates a seriously unfair situation for non-keyboard players though. I think their goal is to keep the control schemes fairly well balanced.
Or just make it possible to scroll down
@@Junior_G_Silva There aren't enough buttons for that. They can only allocate one button for "rotate through spells."
The talisman that reduces the cost of ashes of war is nice if you commonly use WA’s and you want to save yourself some FP for your actual spells
I like the radagin soreseal cause it also increases str and dex meaning I don't have to spec into those to use the moonveil and Darkmoon with my starting class of samurai
the beginning of the video actually jump scared me dude
I would love to see you do a video on a faith build! I'm lost with my build right now.
Love the vids, by far my favorite Elden Ring channel.
i did some experiments, and it does an extra 15% when *fully* charged.
It's worth noting that some sorceries scale with arcane, which is just another small + for using Marika's sore seal. Plus, bubbles. Lmao
Only crap thing about sorcerer is as follows..
Lack of boss weapons that are made for sorcerers.
All the cool ones besides maybe 3 are str/dex/faith
Old moon greatsword sword of moon and flame theres options

2 minutes and 16 seconds into this video. I cannot wait any longer I have to ask the question: What on EARF are those devastating 1 hand swords you are power stancing??? Played strength on my first play through and dex on my second... So forgive me if its an obvious answer. Thanks. Great video so far as of 2 minutes and 16 seconds :P
For the rise that needs two imps to fight, I used the imp spirit ashes and it worked.
Super useful ... you don't just tell us what to use but also explain the thought process so that we can make our own decisions.
Thank you, great video! Can you do one for faith?
your supposed to summon your imps to have them fight the imps! this worked for me.
You don't need to get the Imps to fight each other, all you need to do is summon the fanged Imps and let them fight the enemy Imps.
I prefer stat rune over dmg taken increase, and switch that with the turtle talisman to make up for low END.
there is also an fp reduceing head piece hidden behind an illusionary wall at the academy in the boulder spawning room
Damn raanis questline is basically mandatory for int builds 2 of the best weapons and 2 of the best talismans
