The Plasma Pedal embodies a revolutionary approach to overdrive and distortion; it's an entirely new and previously unexplored method of achieving signal clipping. Instead of using LED circuits, transistors or vacuum tubes to produce overdrive, the Plasma Pedal transforms your instrument's live signal into a series of continuous high-voltage discharges within a xenon-filled tube - sounds pretty sci-fi, right?

what an awesome pedal!
Is there a time signature when it sounds good?
@betty-697 who are you? I fact I don't care.....
@julia Florida
Jacksonville in da house 🏠
We'll all look back on this day as the day Rob and Lee started their Shoegaze Band.
I want to hear the Miku and this pedal together, PLEASE
How do I add more likes to this comment, the internet needs to see this!
This was my thought exactly!
I'll try and make that happen, hopefully L&M will get some of these in
Yes please
OH YEEEEEAAH!! DOO EEEET!!!
A lot of people were understandably skeptical about this being a gimmick but I really think it has a 'thing' that is unique and quite different from a transistor / diode driven glitchy fuzz. You guys did a great job of stepping outside of what you usually do to demo it. Great video.
Me too.. Completely agreed
Spot on
Yes it is great to hear more experimental sounds being made; that's how you know you've got a really cool new toy!!! Much more helpful than the usual boring blues licks :D x
finally a pedal that does something NEW...im saving this video, its exciting
Yes, distortion is so innovative.
Distortion based on Xenon Tubes is definitely innovative.
Regarding an actual new effect: What do you suggest to look at?
If you buy a boss ds-2, and when you try it it sounds like this, you wouldn't say you're lucky cuz your boss sounds new and different , you'd toss it in the garbage since it kinda sounds like a drunk fuzzface played with a 40 years old cheap cable in a line 6 spider 4, it just looks cool as fuck xD
Last video: "We are not doing any more pedals"
This video: " Look - a new pedal!"
And this is fine. That's a very different and cool pedal!
PSA: Not an AFOD
The video about how Chappers and the Captain met. Lee said he doesn't want to do videos with 'just another overdrive pedal' that's basically the same as the pedals that are already out there.
I thought "JAFOD"?
@@samvimes5124 didn't really say that, just said they had an aversion to reviewing endless, similar enough ODs
ruclips.net/video/Dgh1F0Wq_Og/видео.html
Jafod indeed, Just Another Something (Fucking probably) OverDrive
THIS IS ONE OF THE COOLEST PEDALS IVE EVER COME ACROSS. Excellent demo. I'm sold.
There's a fine line between ambient horror sounds and high-gain wet farts.
THIS! XD
farts! AHAHAHA the same description I was using. It's really farts.
Thank you for naming my next album...Ambient horror sounds and wet farts....or AHS&WF
@@joshramsey6893 haha
Made my day
Okay, mixed bag of response to that pedal but I loved it. And the jams between you guys were beautifully haunting. I'd listen to an album of that sort of music.
Addendum: might be the delay pedal I'm loving but I think the combination is superb.
Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky might be up your alley, then :)
@@adonaisantanna2 Yep have heard Explosions and liked their stuff (although am more into heavier stuff really) . Not heard much Mogwai but will check 'em out. Thanks!
@@murphyia1980 check out nothing, true widow, cloakroom, lume, etc. If you like that heavy shoegazey sound
@@Pinewellgaze Will do, cheers!
Sounds like the alien space ship from close encounters of the third kind
If the spaceship were broken down, then yes.
pig chop the starship enterprise failed its MOT
Every Sperm Whale within 1200 miles will be on the beach in hours after some of those sounds. That stuff sounded so cool!!!
This one would be great for some dark ambient or drone project. Amazing stuff!
Definitely my favourite intro jam since the captain growled product specs.
tnexus13 what video was that?
@@markuskoivisto I believe he's referring to the Brendon Small Snowfalcon signature V video.
how to make me feel uneasy with sounds - the pedal
Sunn O))) will probably love this thing
i was thinking the exact same thing
Stephen O'Mally is testing one currently.
Mr Captain, the music you created in that intro was awesome. One of my favorites of any of the jam moments of any of the players of any of the videos. Tasteful isn’t the right word, ideal is closer.
I think it would be cool to see each of the guys come up with a logo or something and have it stamped or burned behind the headstock or something or the guitars and gear you demo. You could play around with throwing them in your stock at random in specific lots so one customer gets it or something. It’s a great way to get viewers even closer to the action.
Wow, the sounds you guys got out of this gave me goosebumps! Very cool when Rob was doing the jagged crackly rhythm stuff, but the epic delays were superb
Really dig what Robb's doing here. Different is good.
Wow. Every time you guys do a jam I wonder when we are finally going to get an album from you.
I don't remember ever feeling this relaxed when watching any of the Andertons videos... The ambient echo and delay stuff is amazing :)
Missed you guys! its something new I'm listening after a long time... 😇
That crunchy gated riff at 15:12 is unlike anything I ever heard and it is NASTY ! As always, you are very good at demonstrating the creative potential of very strange pedals, that everyone else dismisses as useless. Since I discovered this pedal, I was hoping for a video showing its true potential, and here it is finally ! I absolutely love it, it is exactly like I imagined, noisy but organic, cinematic, dynamic and responsive, brutal, versatile as well. It's like all the good things in a fuzz but without the unpleasant bits.
Anyone know what reverb they’re using?
I joined their kickstarter and got one of these purely for the new idea and the flashing lights, but have found some awesome sounds that are quite inspiring. I cant wait to see what these folks do next
I pre ordered this pedal and I’ve not turned it off since I got it, it’s awesome!
WOW that intro was sooo awesome! I wasnt supposed to be buying anymore gear 😢
This is hands down ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PEDAL DEMO EVER!!! I'm in Australia and you just sold me this pedal
This is an amazing Gilmour / Waters session from the 70`s ! And because no one can reproduce it, youre great guys ..
Imagine if Floyd had had this!!!
This might be the first pedal in decades that actually does something new and different. Great demo also!
Thought my ps1 was starting up at 5:26
Whahaha exactly
This thing is awesome. Can't wait to see what else can be done with this kind of tech in the years to come.
Love the miku as your BLEEP sound! Haha.
Totally sick pedals - love it with the echo. I was looking out for a spacecraft to come across the horizon. Great new sound for a band.
Genuinely and pleasantly surprised. A YT video that shows this pedal in a good light. Well done!
New wave of British Heavy Grunge 😂
Best demo of this pedal by far! Well done boys
“I don’t even know if my guitar’s in tune anymore and I don’t even care” hahahaha I love reviews like this, just pure joy
Usually, these 'creative mind' pedals have to be used in a very specific context to really work. Rarely do they sound stunning by themselves like this one. Very cool!
That was great thanks.. the pure guitar tone shone through really well and the rest was a delight to behold....rock on..peace....
A year late or so. Been rewinding this over and over again, the whole video is easily on my top ten list of tunes. Ever.
Super dope. Its definitely for someone who already has other pedals to mess around with, but it works super well
One of my favorite chappers and the captain jams. Invigorates me to push out of my comfort zone now.
I’ve been watching Anderson’s and chapper’s Vids for years and Danish Pete still amazes me every time he picks up a guitar good Lord
I guess the difficulty in using this pedal is why they call themselves Gamechanger audio. It forces you into new realms, and that can only be a good thing!
Lee was doing some lovely Portishead-esque scratching at the beginning there. Nice trippy sensibility, Dude!
Best jam you's have ever done I think. Love this pedal so much.
Even though I went in on the crowd-sourcing and was excited to get the pedal, I was skeptical about being able to use it on jam night. I was pleasantly surprised to find it played really well live and my band mates were thrilled with the uniqueness of the sound.
Best intro and video in a looong time! Cheers!
That's the coolest SOUNDING thing Ive ever heard you guys do. Even the Captain sounded good :P
This might be my fav video by you guys
Pretty dang cool
Omg! The faces they make at 5:40. I died laughing!
Mine's just shipped! Can't wait to get it into my rig. Also I bet you this thing kills on bass.
Deet Cologon its semi good on the bass, it farts a little bit!
That’s it - it sounds like static farts - all the time.
@@glee10 I mean, it's a fuzz, soo. Anyway, I've received mine now and posted a demo track of it on my channel. Used it on guitars and bass. I think with like most pedals there's a way to use this pedal, and that is NOT into a totally clean amp.
This surprised me! Loved the sounds, especially the intro
Excellent job making this thing sound cool.
Killer jams, gentlemen. Well done.
That is one “fuzzed” up pedal. Amazing sounds! 🤟🏻
Awesome sounds.
The jams in this video were tastier than anything Hartleys makes.
Love when gear inspires you guys in these vids.
holy shit. chappers and the captain went experimental, it's sick!
Omg, thats awesome, im pumped. Could you imagine this with a baritone guitar?
Tried it at the UK guitar show and you can really create awesome sounds with this unit. I love you guys but this video doesn't do it justice. This pedal is unbelievable.
You should totally let the other guys have a few minutes with each pedal at the end more often, its great to hear the different styles and see what they come up with!
The sound reminds me so much to a vintage fuzz. Moreover, when you low the current that goes to the tube with the voltage control (the modern NOS transistor fuzzes have a bias control that allows that) it behaves as a NOS fuzz transistor sounding like broken sandy without sustain which is named velvet in fuzz argot.
There are many videos about this pedal but you guys are the few that found an amazing application to it. Yet it requires delay, a reverse ambient reverb, and maybe a cranked tube amp to sound like that, it allows me to “justify why I have to buy that new pedal”. Thank you,
Bet it would be cool to put their sustain pedal in the mix with the plasma?
Yeah man, or with a Sustainiac. Or an EBow.
I did
Sitting side by side, they want to connect. The monster needs a companion.
That sounds amazing!
That atmospheric, fuzzy intro jam was fuzztastic! \m/
I love mine and you guys gave me some ideas to try out.
Through 4 amps at once it’s frigging awesome. I experienced that last night. Bad ass pedal.
Not even one minute watching and I am already convinced, take my money. So much fun
This is so sick! I actually want a pedal for once.
Cool opening gig bros! Just my kind of sound! Add some dark synths and orchestra and you got some nice hybrid soundtrack style music.
Oh my.. amazing sounds :D
TOTALLY AWESOME!!! If I had the dosh I'd be ordering one right now!
Man, that telly! Even with the worst distortion it sounds so f#*@in' awesome!
Really enjoyed this! I just LURV those ambient sounds, and if they added a swooshy, zingy, yee-oingy sweeping filter I would buy it yesterday.
I'd love to see more of the ambient sound video :).
That was an awesome intro guys!!!
Wow, loved that intro! Note: I’ve been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd lately..
Who cares
For $150/hr your psychologist might pretend to care that you hate yourself. They might even try to help you
@@Whodidthis12345 I do hate myself. But that has nothing to do with what I said
Obscured by Clouds has a similar sound, check it out.
At about 13:20 it reminds me a lot of the opening of “Sorrow”.
The Gamechanger Audio Plus pedal is unbelievably good. Best practice tool ever and some awesome musical uses too. This isn’t my style but looks cool. I still kinda want one.
Also, I’d have to imagine this could be used to create a MONSTROUS cover of Black Sabbath. Or Pink Floyd. With the delay, it sounds like what I’d imagine Tony Iommi and David Gilmour duetting would sound like. Sorry for the comment spamming, but I’m friekin stoked on this sound
Absolutely loved the intro. Could listen to a 15 minute jam of that
Love the captain's face at about 0.53,, because he knows it sounds gooooood xx
I always love hearing anything that is not blues from you!
Just ordered one as there don’t seem to be many left in the uk.Mainly for my bass but will definitely be trying it out on my guitar:)
On point lads
I bloody love these!!!!!!!!
This would naturally steer me towards sci-fi/horror movie soundtrack sounds. Reminds me a bit of that obscure (and enormous) Blaster Beam instrument. I also suspect Billy Gibbons would love it.
Anyone else see Chappers making weird noises with a Tele and a pedal and rush to the comments? lol
Great vid guys! Love it.
These are the types of videos that I like watching most
Freakin amazing sounds
That opening demo is amazing, sounds like the soundtrack to an 80s Arnie film directed by David Lynch
Great intro!
Saw this pedal on a NAMM report a couple of years ago. I think it’s great for getting your MUSE on, without the chaos pad! Also, reminds me of when vocals are mix’s through a lo-fi input, like a telephone mic.
One of the coolest intro jams ever!
That is FANTASTIC movie mood music, sounds like it belongs somewhere in the same zombie movie as Rob's ending jam in the Ernie Ball Tremolo expression pedal video. Badassery all day!
EPIC OPENING JAM!!!!!
This is AWESOME
bloody awesome
Sounds like a horn of a tanker ship!
In a good way! haha
damn, sounds wicked with these ambient pedals
U guys are f’ing geniuses! Amazing!
