It was just a little "meh" for me, I for one am tired of the Bruce Timm designs they should get a top animation studio and put more effort into it or at the very least give the characters more human features.
Tony, cutting me out of a Batman episode after I told you my Dark Knight Rises story... That's almost as bad as Frank being cut from Joker. But great episode as always, and I definitely agree. So long as these characters stay within the spirit of who they are, I dont care about changes made so long as its interesting. I think the biggest missed opportunity is turning the Penguin into a mother and then immediately killing off her children.
@@Eisenwulf666 I wasn't exaggerating. Yes you could. You could even do better than this audio quality on Team Fortress Classic over dialup when the new voip codec came with steam like 19 years ago. But video? No, I didn't mention video, although he's barely moving so it's possible to have done it with RealPlayer and a variable frame rate of 5-15fps.
@@Eisenwulf666 You could put up a fight and say I implied it. I did. Come on. Go savage. Lol, but I just cant believe what we got to do with such a skinny data line back then. Had to give props for this one for Thoney and DC Frank because Animal Instincts was my favorite anime from Batman. These always put you in a retro mood, especially at 1am. Good feel.
Batman and Harley Quinn was retconned out of the DCAU because of the backlash and people need to realize it was Ryan Johnson would ruined Star Wars in not the other guy.
I think what bugged most people (including myself) about the Gender swapped Penguin, was the way Bruce Timm tried to justify it, by saying they had to since Batman had no good villains.
I'm not one to complain about minor or slightly annoying video/audio flaws, but Frank's microphone makes this utterly unlistenable. I can't understand 85% of what he's saying.
The running gag: When a lot of the lady characters first see the bat mobile they all say the same line: nice car "Chicks dig the car" This was a great show :) Great episode Tony!
Alfred did lose the pound in the 1944 batman serial. Clay faces dress look like the Shadow. and nod. to Gray ghost all based on The Shadow.Alfred was read a book.
No one ever mentions why Robin wears bright colors and Batman wears black... it's easier for bad guys to see them while Batman gets the drop. If you think about it, Batman is getting older Robins are always young... I'm not saying he's using them as human shields. But he might actually be using them as human shields.
I couldn't finish caped crusader, I got to the point where batman fights a ghost and checked out. It was a boring show, I wish we could have gotten a 2nd season of beware the batman rather than crusader
It isn't the best show ever, but there is much, much worse Batman material out there: Batman Odyssey and Batman : Year One are probably on my shortlist of best of the worst
This shit was barely watchable. Just bad episodes despite all the woke nonsense. Horrible plots and pacing. And did I mention all the WOKE NONESENSE!??? There’s a reason why WB shop this out to any stupid streaming service that would pick it up. It’s been cancelled for TWO YEARS NOW
Its odd that Tony didn't like Harley and Ivy since those two has been together almost as long as she has been in the original cartoons and the comics. Harley has had some flings but in grand scheme of things after she left Joker its been Ivy.
In Batman: the animated series she appears in a total of 9 episodes( plus a scrapped one) and she is either in love with the Joker or thinking about getting back with him. She is just friends with Ivy. It's arguably more than a friendship on Ivy's part, but Harley never behaves as anything but a good friend. What happens in later series is one thing, but in B:tas they were just friends. Harley thinks about " Mr. J." all the time. Since she was created in that series, i would argue that was the intention. The character eventually grew into something else, but saying " they've always been together" is just untrue.

The two face episodes were dope, and the clayface ones. i overall liked it despite the weird penguin thing they did.
Wasn't Barbara a defense attorney in this series? Def not a cop.
@@matthalomeux you're right. My brain went there cause she's constantly in the police station. My bad.
King tut and fleisher era Lois were great Easter eggs.

How did your buddy find a dollar store microphone from 1996 AND somehow find a 56k dialup line to use?
Frank's setup could be better, no doubt about it, but i remember dialup, you couldn't do this kind of video call on 56k 😂

😂 I will be improving my set up for future episodes. I’ll admit that sounds and looks a little rough.
No Egghead? Denied.
Frank should remake over the top as an Uber driver

It didn't bother me that Penguin was a woman. My worry was if they were gonna make a sexy Penguin and I'm glad they stuck with the ugly Penguin
