I've been off for over 5 years now and unfortunately haven't healed yet, but I try to remain optimistic that maybe that day will come. The one thing I do know is that if I can ever handle stress again the way that i did prior to taking benzodiazapines, that will be the moment where I feel like I have truly healed from this nightmare. This entire experience feels like a prison sentence, but you don't know how long the sentence is. You basically just have to deal with it as well as you can and live your best life in the meantime.

My taper was a month after being on for 15 + years at 20 ml a day (valium). In retrospect I'm glad I jumped off how I did because it cut the cord. During the first few months though I thought I had made a mistake.
You're going to be ok! Trust me on this.

Yes, definitely. I tried protecting my cns. I notice I was slowly going down that path of avoidance. I think avoiding will cause unhealthy fear. So im trying a different approach of being in myself & train not to get affected by any outside stressful experiences/activities. Finding that right balance. This is much harder but affective.
My issues are leaving the area, by going into my car, my room, finding a empty quiet place alone to calm down then sometimes come back. If in my mind i dont have these things, I wont go to any places that dont have access for me to have any way out to do this.
Being at work (fulltime) is very hard
There's many times my symptoms would elevate, flare up & I'm practically disabled, but I cant show this to any of my co-workers, especially when there's physical work. Going home im get so exhausted/fatigue like wanna die. So I do mindful meditation, slow breathing exercises. Its a cycle daily. 😢

Thanks for your video. Listening to your videos gives some comfort. Because everything I can relate. I'm doing the same thing. My usual life is not normal because my super sensitive cns. It's more like navigating through my life carefully because this physical body I'm in is in a heightened state. Every day can be different for me. Slowly & straight through is all we can do. 😊

Everything that I do I realize my nerves are on fire. Not like they were though. I am so thankful I have made the progress I have. I'm so calm now at 9 months in. I am so, even. Haven't been that way forever.
When you told me you were mixing paint at 6 months I was blown away. There is NO way I could have done that at that time.
Dan, thanks so much for posting. I really like your videos. I'm just so thankful for everything now.

I'm under so much stress it is unreal. My nervous system is shot. A light conversation stresses me out. I've been out of work. This video caused me stress. I can't do much of anything between the mental anguish 24/7 and the symptoms I'm minute to minute and I'm still on 2.75 mgs of k after being in a rehab.. off in 9 days. Almost died, an Ashton taper over 10 months was way too fast and back up to 3 mgs of k with very little help and 6 weeks ago went down to 2.75 mgs. I don't know how I'm gonna make it. Everything bothers me. I could go on and on. I'm on disability and do what I can. For me it's 95% mental anguish. I have muscle pain. I've lost 40 lbs. No appetite but am doing fruits and plain chicken. 20 months and feeling like this? I feel I'm in crisis 24/7. I'm 57 and this is simply toooooooo much. Dont get me wrong, great advice but I can't even put into words what is happening to me. The only thing i can do is the breathing exercises. All the other stuff is overwhelming and ive tried many, many things. Also, the derealization is non-stop... People are so different like you said. Any advice?

Your story sounds like mine! I’m 58…and was told age and length of use can determine the severity withdrawal symptoms. I felt like I had the worst hangover imaginable every day for two years. I’m now 4 years out and still have some lingering issues. I was on disability, but forced to work because I couldn’t afford to live on straight disability pay. Thank God I worked from home. You can do this! I saw tremendous improvement between my second and third years.

You will be OK. I'm nearly 6 months off V after a 24 day hospital detox, after 26 years. I have seen tremendous improvement. I'm 56. My advice is to simply rest rest rest. Whilst still healing, stay away from as much stimulus as possible, light, sound, drama, energy sucking humans, shopping malls etc etc.
I still get everything delivered to my door. I still go out and really do love driving with my music playing. I play music from happier times in my life, 70s and 80s music for me, I can almost FEEL it soothing my soul. You can and will do this !! ♥️

Benzos cause nuero inflanattion. An doctors can detect it threw a spinal tap. But yiu could eat anti inflamattory foods. Drink green tea or white tea it's anti-inflammatory . Also steriods could help but you'd have to diagnosed by a spinal tap. Exorsize even short walks are good ways reduce brain inflanattiin. Could be some type of encephapathy aswell. You should ask your doctor to look into a spinal tap cause if you can get diagnosed they can help you more. But thats your choice tho. Hope this is helpful. Godbless you.

Nuero inflammatory illness causes Dr dp sound an light sentivity anxiety an depression. Tinnitus. Head pressures. Headaches. Tension. Phycosis. An it is caused by long term benzo or ssri use. Even long periods of opiod use can cause it. Cold showers may help aswell to stabilise the nervous system. Unfortunately there is no quick fix tho. That we know of ofcourse. I know how it is tho. I'm suffering myself an it is hell on earth.
