I own a PE and the undertray already had a pre-cut slot/tab so no drilling required, wish I’d checked before ordering a set of Christmas tree drill bits lol 🙄

great vid, just what i was looking for. my mrs has a ST-3 in silver fox on order and i'm getting things for it before its anywhere near ready haha, just wanted to see how easy this was to install for her. i don't think i'll mention the word 'drilling' when talking about her first brand new motor lol

@@JBCTR induction kit is easy to fit direct replacement of the oe box with KN filter and useing the oe top ! I wouldn't say there is a massive difference in performance but there is a slight difference in engine response as I'm still running original exhaust !
Reckon a galaxy s9+ would fit into that gap flat and still charge? Does anyone know?

To use carplay you need to connect via a cable that charge your phone anyway.... so whats the point !?

My Ecosport 2015 has nowhere that fits Samsung S20, too sad this won't work for me. Great video though.
Many thanks for the video! I followed this tutorial yesterday to install mine! I used the OEM Ford one.
I do have a couple of gripes with the Ford version though:
- I'm not sure about the quality of the included cable. I had a faff with the cables as the cars connector kept knocking the pins out of the chargers cable when I tried to connect it up. I managed it anyway, even though the pins are sticking out a little!
- Surprisingly the mat on the Ford version doesn't fit perfectly well. It's ok, but I think it could be better. The third party one in your video looks like a better fit which is a bit mad!
- My phone (Samsung s21) is a little picky about where it likes to sit on the mat.
It seems to do the job ok though! I've now ordered a wireless android auto dongle so I can go full wireless and stop having to plug my phone in each time I get into the car.

The dongle works well but there is an issue with wireless charging while using wireless android auto...
The wireless android auto must use more power and the wireless charging speed isn't really fast enough to keep up so the phone doesn't actually charge when used in this way.
It's still convenient not having to plug in the phone and the wireless android auto is surprisingly more reliable than the wired, but the fact that it doesn't charge is a big downside given the phone charges pretty quickly when using wired android auto

Will you mod your interior lighting, the mk7 which had an amber glow looks better than the blue
I probably won't change it too much as I actually quite like the stock lighting in the MK8!

GreenHola ST’s have red needles. ST Line’s have the blue needles (I believe!)
Looks good, but the only thing that you lose on is CarPlay and will it take an iPhone XS Max in that space?
Leon TheProfessional Not tested an XS max so I’m not sure. I had the same concerns about CarPlay but the wireless charger is a good option if just using Bluetooth, or for the passengers 👍🏼
I have it my st feista, pity my phone doesn't fit in the space provided.

Richard Atkins Hi mate, there’s nothing in the blurb to say that it is. It is a dual coil charger, but in reality it charges at about the same rate as my 5w charger at home.

So what's the charge rate on this pad? Factory equipped Focus Mk4's charge pad is known to be a very slow recharge. It's a little better than keeping your battery on the same level.
nilzr1 It’s a dual coil pad, but in my testing it charges at approx the same rate as a 5W wireless Charger in the house.
@@JBCTR Iphone's wireless charging is rated up to 7,5W , Samsung up to 9W. Do you find the charging sufficient?
nilzr1 It’s enough for a quick top up, or to keep it topped up. Don’t expect a rapid charge but it isn’t bad 👍🏼

Michal Bernard Your phone will need to support wireless charging. I don’t think the 5s supports wireless charging unfortunately.

As with most of jonnys mods surely if he is on a lease his mods will void his warranty, especially the revo map and exhaust system.

Nice video but one thing, I thought Fiesta ST already has a wireless charger there, at least the ST3. Am I wrong? Maybe in the UK specs are slightly different than Europe?
Update: Turns out the new Focus has the wireless charger as an option but Fiesta does not. Well, my phone doesn't have wireless charging anyway :D

why do the original thing, has a key drawn into it? I thought it was a key charger. so the key is not charged? you have to replace the battery?
UltiMo_ GR Presumably as it’s a good place to keep the key? It certainly doesn’t charge it as there is no power down there, so you’ll need to replace the key battery anyway. However they do last years so nothing to worry about :)
@@JBCTR Since there is an option for a factory wireless charger extra, I was under the impresion that keyless versions, have the wireless charger as standar. Well ok.. Good thing my phone doesn't have wireless charging. (I am about to receive my fiesta this week hopefully after 3 month of waiting and binge watching fiesta videos)
The key symbol is because thats close to where one of the key receivers are so if you are setting up a “my key” or “master key” you have to put the key in that slot, I have just fitted my wireless charger with the help of your video so thank you but I am now worried about battery drains as is this not the same as just leaving something plugged into the lighter socket? So far with mine with everything on the vehicle turned off and locked I can still see that my phone is charging through the window. Any thoughts?
@@ostomyjack6602 yes mine keeps power on for about 10 minutes. some versions do the same with the floor lighting as well. mine thankfully switches off 1 second after locking. but the 12V power is on for about 10 minutes
Just installed mine and have to warn anyone who has a bigger phone like mine (Samsung s10 5g) which is similar to plus models the phone doesn't sit flush if you have a case it will not charge , I have a very slim not bulky case and it doesn't sit flush, if I remove my case and wiggle the phone in certain way it just barely fits and will charge but can't be doing this everytime and the risk of phone getting scratched 😔 only other thing I'm thinking to do is trim the plastic surround but afraid if it will look obvious I have customised it 😡

Thanks for answering this mate, I have the S10 plus and really wanted the charger but it just doesn't look large enough so never risked it.
@@leokuu89 to be honest est tge s10 plus is slight smaller than tge s10 5g that I have so I might fit even with a case so don't rule it out , I still have mine and it will add a little interest to the car on resale plus ford do £10 off new customer so get it for £60
