The ball stack tension is exactly why the rotor is the best hopper for mechs. If you notice alot of the automag guys uses rotors because of how quickly they can start feeding. It is also the reason i use the rotor in my shooting videos. I tend to outshoot spires, revys and the like. I tried to bring this up to virtue years ago, it seems like they want to handle it all through board logic not a mechanical assist.

For anyone who doesn't have a preference, bias, or sponsor, the Rotor is pretty damn perfect. I can deal with it being a few ounces heavier, because when it's dialed-in, which isn't difficult to do, it doesn't fail.
Did you try adjusting the torque screw? There are a couple videos on RUclips that show how to dial it in. I followed the instructions for it and I've never had feed or jamming issues with my LTR.
The R2 shell is perfect IMO. To go from 200 to 260 is great. Unfortunately it just jams too much (and severe jams where the anti-jam doesn't work). I've replaced the internals with LTR internals and it's helped a lot; it jams a lot less but I just don't trust it anymore. A shame because my og Rotor v3 was a champ. LVL was running experimental internals this last season so hopefully we get an updated Rotor soon.
the spring tension in original Rotors is very similar to the Halo rip drive. you get a spring tension when you stop shooting, then when you start again, the tension is released as the feeding cone starts to move.
I will forever use my Halo Too. It’s fast and I’ve never had it jam since I got it in 2021 (when I started playing paintball). Hands down my favorite hopper
The fact that they won with it should tell you a lot about gear it’s never the gear it’s always the player and how that player makes the best out of what gear they have 💯
Sheer Rate of fire isn't what matters, responsiveness matters. Tension can be a bad thing as it can microfracture paint.. but you want enough present to ensure as soon as you squeeze that trigger the marker launches paint with zero delay. Your hopper outrunning your software capped marker does matter in your favor.
Always likes halo loaders. Maybe let’s go back on classics. Evil shocker was one of the best markers I’ve ever shot. Heavy but shot sooooo smooth. Anyone who hates that marker and owns it. I’ll buy.
I shot a lot of halos still with my Autocockers (One of the few feeders that fits), and I feel they feed better then my Rotors on my newer electros. I don't know why but every now and then I get some paint that the Rotor simply doesn't like. And I spend the whole day racking my Rotors manual feed. Ironically one of my fav loaders is a cheapo Valken V-MAX Plus+. Works with my older guns and seems to be soft on the paint as I've never seem to have any miss feeds. I don't really know why people look down on them other then they are cheap?
Two questions Why doesn’t the team use the z2 instead of the halo 2? The z2 is a much lighter hopper. Does the z2 have the same feed rate as the halo too?
I'd say you could still compete with the original halo, and with the empire version of the halo I'm sure they may have made some small changes but idk...
I honestly prefer the halo when I take hard dives, my hopper doesn't split open. As for cleaning I haven't broke paint inside the hopper or use a speed feed where dirt enters the compartment. I like popping the lid open like a Pringle bottle. Satisfying sound for me

The last ones I had always had jamming problems, thinking about picking at LTR up and trying again.

I've never had issues with the Spire V, if that's worth anything.

OGs remember halos with the RIOT feed mod for halos/empires for angels... it would feed on every trigger pull vs its own sensors

I heard the teams were just made to use halos because the JT Triad is unuseable and they want their players using empire/JT gear.

they were heavier, but i miss my halo. great loaders. not super thrilled my spire but its ok.
I have a triad, i like it, speedfeed kinda sucks its a little stiff so gotta put in a little more effort than a normal speedfeed

Halo plus brittle paint = disaster. They are waaaaaaay to rough on paint.
How I feel but I know these teams are using the brittlest paint possible.
The gi paint we use. You can literally drop 10 balls from shoulder height and all 10 would shatter the shell on a piece of concrete tile or asphalt

Battery is easier to change also during games without taking out paint.
