The thing I loathe about Virtue is that the ramps aren't included in the Hopper stock. These are supposed to be premium hoppers, throw in the $12 part (that probably cost them $1 to make) in the box.
Thank you on the height measure and comparison with other hoppers in the market, it help a lot to those who doesnt have local shop and can only buy online. Keep up the good reviews:)
Just got mine, and the neck feels flimsy. The lid was super tough to open the way I'm used to opening my rotor. It's practically necessary to get a speed feed which I just never needed on my Rotor. If it wasn't for the 2 free masks with hopper deal before Christmas, I would have passed on this.
I think Virtue/BK will eventually discontinue Spire and focus only on CTRL. I do not see a point to have 2, internally almost identical, loaders in the same price category.
The benefit for them is that they are their own competition and can still provide different options for those looking for something different that’s not a dye rotor or ugly hk army
If anything they’d discontinue the ctrl. The spire made far better. The ctrl shell breaks open 90% of the time. Unfortunately they don’t make the spire 200 anymore. That was the best hopper ever made.
Great review! I was hesitant on buying the Ctrl since I didn’t kno a lot about it and have been searching for a very lite weight hopper. I’m trying to get the lightest setup possible with hopper, marker, and tank. I think I’m a pick one these up when it goes on sale (hopefully lol).
Paintball Ruined My Life you’re welcome! I’m curious if you have had the chance to check out Kinetic’s pants (KP1 and soon to be KPS)? Would love to hear your opinion on them.
Just got mine last week. I like the hopper but I can't stand the power button. Terrible placement and hard to push. I understand that they were trying to keep it as light as possible but it drives me crazy.
The thing has over everything else is how trully smaller it is. Its crazy how small it is compared to a spire 4. If i would have known b4 getting my spire 4 i would have got this. Spire 4 is solid af though ngl
I like that you can reprogram sensor, you could actually gaf tape a arrow scope to your marker & find out exactly what the longest shot can be before the ball starts to drop drastically this would making your Y axis perfect every shot if lite was green so you would only need to think about X axis & timing of enmy
I think it is nice to have all that detail on the inside, but it's really dumb that when you put those spring ramps in it covers up "We Kill Suckers" it would've been nice if they just put that on the spring ramp too
Hey man during these times we think you should make more videos I know paintball is slow right now cause everything’s closed but there are a few new products lots to talk about lv1.6 and geo 4 make videos on those
You'll just need to give him a bit of time. He's He's great about making vids he's probably just got a lot personally going on as well with the events this year.
I got my CTRL for 175 with ramps... so i feel like I lucked out but yeah it’s super light and I like the flexible plastic compared to my old school view loader evo2! It was time for an upgrade and well super happy with my purchase!
Ive had this hopper for a while and I have mixed opinions. My biggest concern is that it doesn’t take a full pod of paint easy. You have to shoot your hopper to almost empty and the you have to tilt the hopper down while aiming down to have a chance of not dropping 15% of the pod on the ground. Its almost impossible to get in a full pod if your shooting at the same time. TLDR; hopper is too small to take a full pod easily.
Still relatively new to paintball and it took me a good minute to get used to shooting enough paint to fit a whole pod reload into the iR. Is the CTRL going to be even worse!? Like do you have to shoot to the last balls to fit the whole pod? Not too concerned with dropping balls on a reload, just thought it kinda sucked to have to be so conscious of how full it was
I am currently using an original rotor. My biggest complaint (and the reason I am looking for a new hopper) is that I have to practically run the loader dry before dumping a new pod if I don't want to wasn't a bunch of paint. Would I have this same problem with the Ctrl or should I go for a spire?
Yeah, more than likely. I run an R2 expanded for this reason all the time for 2 reasons (I did pre-order a CTRL, have tried, and did keep the CTRL too). 1.) there's no drive cone in the way of the paint being dumped in the loader, reloads are faster and more complete. 2.) I can dump a full pod with a half full load and not ever worry about running out of paint, or a popcorn effect. I don't get all the hype surrounding spires. I have them, they load paint. The rotor also loads paint. I have a 3 year old R2 I'll bet I have 30 cases through with a grand total of 2 jams (1 inexplicable, one was horribly deformed 2 star). I don't get all the crying about that. Check out the R2.
@@BR-zt9no I have an R2, I'm debating if theres any reason i should get ctrl. Or just stick with my R2, these sales are tempting. You thoughts on the ctrl?
I wanted to test it but didn't want to open up a bag of paint if we cant play until 2039 🥳 Bunkerking say 200 without the ramps I trust that, with the ramps probably 180.
spire 3 is a little bit more robust but the control is lighter I would say see if once paintball picks back up ask people at your local field if you could shoot both
Do not fall for this company. Virtue/BK just sent me half a loader and they've gotten rid of any way to contact a human there. I think they might be liquidating their stock before they go out of business.
Great Review. This is for the people that think a seatbelt cover adds 5hp.. just learn how to shoot nerds. 250 for a hopper is ridiculous... and dont forget the 12 dollar spring ramps.. GTFO here lol..
Another overrated expensive product from virtue. If you're willing to spend $200 + get a tfx 2 it comes with a ramp the speed feed & a rechargeable battery plus it's a similar profile
Weird that you've edited the video title, kinda dishonest, this video has nothing to do with the Spire V. But hey, clickbait is more important than honestly I guess.
Dude. All the knows 🤷🏼♂️, anecdotes and general lack of hard evidence for any of your statements makes your review pretty wishy washy. Like PROOVE what you’re saying and I can actually take it seriously.
Agree some basic testing methodology would put so me facts behind what he says he's feeling and then he can turn those readings Into explain what he says he's feeling.
Getting back into paintball for the first time in 15 years and these videos are super helpful! Hopefully this sport can keep growing
Well did you get back in?
The thing I loathe about Virtue is that the ramps aren't included in the Hopper stock. These are supposed to be premium hoppers, throw in the $12 part (that probably cost them $1 to make) in the box.
Yep im with ya, I think it should come with the speedfeed too.
Buy a rotor then.
Virtue have included the ramps with every spire since the Spire 3.
We missed you for sure. Great review, as usual!
Thank you on the height measure and comparison with other hoppers in the market, it help a lot to those who doesnt have local shop and can only buy online. Keep up the good reviews:)
I just got mine. Noticed the difference in weight when loaded vs my rotor since it’s lower. Love it.
Been excited for a review of this loader. Good work!
“We Kill Suckers” has to be the worst catchphrase for a brand.
It’s very much of the era, when it came out in the early 2000s it made sense l, but hasn’t aged well lol
Why does he say spire III in the video for the comparison, but it says spire V in the title?
Love the content as always! Keep up the grind.
Appreciate it!

Thanks man, I've been looking for a new electronic hopper. Love your vids!

Michal Bajo I think they’ll look at sales at the end of some period of time and keep whichever one sells better

They are on sale on Amazon for about $160.
You missed the sales lol got my ctrl, speed feed, and Ramps for 119$ shipped a couple weeks ago with their promo
Great review! Always love your content

The spire also feels more solid because of all the lines. Lines don’t Bend easy but the dome shape does
Just got mine last week. I like the hopper but I can't stand the power button. Terrible placement and hard to push. I understand that they were trying to keep it as light as possible but it drives me crazy.
Yeah very true, it is kinda of a paint to power on and off when its on a gun.
I've tried all the spires including. The spire 3, and I like my r2 better....added the ncharge and it's the best of both worlds...
Its crazy cause i was coming to RUclips to find a review on this hopper an here one is lol

Great video as usual. It’s worth saying that the spire type loaders don’t use gyroscopes for shot detection, they are accelerometers.
I think it is nice to have all that detail on the inside, but it's really dumb that when you put those spring ramps in it covers up "We Kill Suckers" it would've been nice if they just put that on the spring ramp too

For sure at $175 they are a great deal!
just got one off virtues site with speed feed and ramps for $165, at that price i feel totally justified in it replacing my 9 year old spire lol
1:07 👋🏻👋🏻
For me why does it matter if it shoots faster we all shoot 10.5 so speed isn't really an issue

I would say that it's going to be very very similar to the Spire IR.

Colten LaFrance they also used to make the 260 capacity shells for the older spires. Or the 280 shells on the spire 3s
The CTRL holds about 20 more paintball that the Rotor, and the Spire III is about 50 more so both should be a bit better.

I think I'll wait till 2.0 version. Spires are just too good and at this point proven reliable. Or ill buy when mine breaks lol
They really shouldve gone away with the angle indicator....
A little electrical, grip or duct tape will fix that.
@@MRIsomewhaereguy or just turn the led off
There's an opportunity to add a reload indicator.
What is the total capacity with ramps? Just curious, thank's
about 200

@@PaintballRuinedMyLife I feel bad I want this but want an extend lid so I can have the best of both
Those spring ramps couldnt be more than a 90¢ added manufacturing cost if they came with every hopper...
Would you sell me that CMD that you have? I like the color way and they dont sell it anymore...
Did you ever made a review about the tfx2 loader?
I have not, unlikely to happen at this point.
Nioce!
Pretty cool! But for $235...
on virtues site you can get one with speed feed and ramps for $165 using code NXL25
Dunno if you're still interested but I just bought the ctrl, ramps, speedfeed and rechargeable battery pack bundle on ebay for $209.. check it out!
Ctrl or spire 3?
spire 3 is a little bit more robust but the control is lighter I would say see if once paintball picks back up ask people at your local field if you could shoot both
I assume it works with the virtue app via bluetooth, right?
It does not, no bluetooth.
Where’s the geo 4 video
yooooo I have one of these coming in tomorrow I'm so pumped
What’s your feel so far?
its not a gyroscope. Its an accelerometer.
I’ll stick with my spire 3
Is the hopper small, or are your hands just freakishly huge? Lol
He has huge hands

It is technically a spire so only the shell is new.
He compares everything to Dye cause they set the standards.
