R2 was awesome for years until I started playing at an indoor field with reball. The reball is undersized to the point that my smallest barrel insert is still too big. The reball is also dry and has more friction between balls than normal paintballs. Tried adjusting tension in the R2 and oiling the reball which did help but still wasn't reliable. Sometimes the feed mechanism hand 2 balls into a single space and the anti jam fin just jams too. Tried my old viewloader 12V revolution from the 90s/2000s and it didn't like the reball either with balls wedging between the paddles and the shell near the feed neck. Ordered a spire 5 yesterday, partially due to this video. Thank you. Wish me luck!
New studio looks cool but audio has some echo.
I run both a Spire 4 and a R2 and honestly still my day 1 R1 rotor. I honestly use them for different purposes at this point. If I'm playing mech I'm running an r1 or r2. If I'm shooting 10.5/10.2 electro I'm shooting the spire 4 or the r2. I used to also shoot a rotor on any of my blind or uncapped semi vintage electros but I've gotten them to all be able to shoot legal ramp modes with the new modern boards leaving me with just my classic Adrenaline Angel LCD having to specifically use my R1 rotor only because I sanded the feedneck of the loader to fit snug into the Angels non clamping feedneck.
Also For a brief period of time Virtue made a crown for the R2 Rotor. I love this speed feed for my r2. However it's been years since they made this. Think it uses SF II style fingers if im not mistaken.
The Spire is a rear load mechanism and the Dye R2 is a front load mechanism. All the weight is to the rear of the Spire 5 with makes it an EASY choice for any player. I've never seen a review of these 2 loaders that discusses this key advantage the SPIRE 5 has.
Used Rotors for over 15 years, never had a jam, always fed, always worked. Tired of Spire shells coming apart when they touch the ground with any kind of force.
That's insane to me, I don't think my OG rotor ever made it through a full point without me ripping the shark fin at least once.
Only time I’ve had issues with any Rotor product was when I overfilled them.
@@ChristmasMourningcrazy. My OG Rotor and R2 have never jammed to my memory.
Ctrl ftw
I have a dye and been thinking about getting the spire 5🤔
Both are really good but the spire 5 man Is really dope and super fast for anything you do from cleaning quiet is good trust but if you have a r2 and is old already go for it you will not regret it
Triad bout to take over the loader game
😂
For a hopper that at its heart is basically 20 years old and still one of the best in the game, have to respect what Dye has done with the Rotor family. If only they could lighten it just a bit! Also you didn't mention the NCharge ability of both hoppers.
What is NCharge?
Also does the spire 5 have the option of using the Ncharge battery.
Only issue with rotors has been in mid nh summer with 100+°F
Does ncharge fit into the spire 5?
Yeah studio is dope af
The spire is so loud
