You’re both right and wrong about Jason Trosen. He’s pretty middle of the road and non biased at the NXL that is very true. But when it comes to the ICPL he runs it on a good ole boy system and is completely biased. Quite a few players and teams I talked to quit playing the ICPL because of him. It’s sad to me how he be good at his job when he’s at the NXL yet completely apathetic at the ICPL.

You can tell that he really did not research this before recording and posting.

speedball kinda isnt watchable, but if you change the way competitive paintball was or if you made some other slower version of competitive paintball, i do think it would be watchable. i think you could record the arena from an upper angle, and stream each players pov with some sort of action camera and constantly change pov's in order to give the spectator some idea of whats happening. could look similar to what watching a game of counter strike looks like.

I've been playing paintball since 06. Taken multiple breaks from the sport only to come back and feel like the tech really hasn't gotten that much better. I've been waiting for a gun and loader sync standard since the mid 2000's. Back when your Vlocity would run out of paint to feed and signal to the entire field that you were out of paint with its loud winding motor. I can't really spot a difference between these guns anymore besides air efficiency. I don't really know what is left to improve.

there's need to be a main thing to do like someone deliver a type of thing to the other part of the field so they are attackers and defenders with less time and pods limiter

1v1 hormesis style sure. 5v5 is too boring and hard to follow to watch for the vast majority of anyone that doesn't play paintball.

To start there would need to be an international federation. With so many different organisations it would be impossible to coordinate an international standard.

Change the name and move on, or license their name unless they just hate you and will not cooperate.

to be fair in the early 20th century there was dueling in the Olympics using real pistols with wax bullets, so I think 1v1 paintball in the olympics would be great to watch. as for Calcio Storico, it should be a more popular sport than just one area of Italy. I have watched that sport and it really is amazing to me.

Paintball for the olympics would need to be 1 on 1 or 2 v 2 doubles so its easy to follow

The current 5v5 format would be a nightmare for Olympic viewership.

Maybe adding new gadgets to the sport could make stir things up. Someone needs to invent a new type of feild , or shield 🛡, , a working grenade .maybe add classes to the sport. Snipers control zone play. A type of jacket that had 3 cans on it that need to be shot off before the player is out. I dunno. I dunno something ..

Tv companies are executing their cuts and restructuring plans now. That means anyone pushing to TV either knew this 18 months ago and was keeping up. If they didn't know, they're the fish sitting at a poker table and got taken. Streaming first wouldn't have been the answer either. I'll drop that nugget right before that one hits. You'd think with so much of current paintball's roots in LA some industry insights would have been leaked out. Guess those guys don't know which bars to hang out in from Calabasas down to Dana Pt. Simply, their "homies" treated them as a lead for a couple final commissions.

1 on 1 or mabey 3 on three cameras up above the field have prelims . Explain the angles part of the game. Make the field small with not alot of bunkers nake em run dive and shoot or get bc you can't hide in a bunker long enough or the opponent will get the angle on you.

Only way its watchable is 1 on 1.

I remember the push for the Olympics back in the early 2000s. I think there has got to be a way to make it work, but I don’t have the answer. But when you look at some other sports in the Olympics they are unbearable……curling anyone lol

SO hard to watch 😂 stop making good points.... BUT not sure we have tried EVERYTHING to actually make it watchable... better field layout, better camera angles, cameras on markers / goggles, format could be better, keep the field the same, so many different things to do... 10 man Is the best to film and make a "story" IMO

Let's face it, paintball is a participation sport. It's not a spectator sport. There's just no demand from the public to watch paintball.

Have it as a demo sport. If it flops then we know it is not meant to be in the Olympics.

Thoughts after that bland shit they put on ESPN: we need to go back to private label guns with obvious milling patterns. Looked like a bunch of colorful tubes with a frame and foregrip. We need guns like the Naughty Dog Alias or Ripper timmy if chasing tv is the play.

IMO the CS3 shot feels closer to a 170R/180R than it does to a GEO R5

its def a compatibility issue however i have not adjusted my ctrl2, is there a guide to where you do that? i assumed there was no adjustments on it. i can say i have a 170r, cs3, and geo r5. it is definitely much softer with the geo and in my vids its really noticeable. i know youve shot one but when you play with it for more than a day then need to borrow a 180r as your geos randomly shooting hot going in a finals round at tournament you really notice the difference in shot sound level and feel. my teammate has a R5 with a crtl1 and has zero complaints of compatibility but I havent shot it to see if i notice any stuttering or anything.

The last time paintball was on TV was in 2015 when the NCPA was still on CBS Sports. This tho will be the first time that pro paintball in the US has been on TV since 2011. To me the fact that this is happening is so huge and such a great thing to further the legitimization of the sport of Paintball! I’ll be at a bar somewhere getting them to put ESPN2 on at 1am haha🍻

I have an R5 with a JT Triad and have had ZERO feeding isssues!

CS3 for me is the best, cause the shot is short, crisp and firm, other guns are like old Luxes, slow and airy, feels mushy for me, other that that all of them can shoot 5 Star paint without problems

CS3 it's an all together better marker than most on the market !

I actually just shot a Geo 5 for the first time at my local crew's tuesday night practice and holy smokes is that thing smooth. I almost need it to kick more because I thought it was running out of air. Suppose in a couppe years once the price comes down some i might consider getting one, and by then hopefully the hopper issue is fixed even though I used my spire 3 and nothing was wrong. Rather eliminate the possibility of something being wrong, than saying something works currently so it's good

R5 sounds like a gun running out of air.

Greatest thing about the R5 is the Geo 4 just had another price drop. Give it a year and Geo 4 will be cheaper than 3.5's

2024 and there's still no G7R. Life is suffering.

Paintball had a shot at unifying its content creators like every other idea or thing that's sold for consumption. But most paintball content creators are working under an old model that scatters and reduces engagement. They could have pushed hard, but there's no Brandon Herrera/Garand Thumb/Fat Electrician with Leviathan behind them to focus the market via content. Hell, firearms managed to intertwine with Call of Duty at certain topics. Paintball has no chance of doing anything close as it stands.
