I personally feel like paintball has a better home on the internet. things like smaller creators making barrel cam videos or live streams. it makes more sense with how niche the sport is.
@@RuinedClipsIts a highly defensive mindset. Paintball manufacturers would prefer to yell down rather than engage in broad conversation. Its affected the entire industry.
Getting paintball back on mainstream TV is really important for its growth as a sport at all levels. Internet should be for shows like this and our channel. Hope it goes well.
I think the modern high speed, high definition cameras might help. Back in the day it was hard to see what was going on. Now you can have instant replay of hits in slow motion.
Why is TV the ultimate goal? How about having a sustainable and thriving industry with a solid online experience? Big outside dollars are not going to show up. Red Bull, Bud Light, Nike, etc, are not going to back up the dump truck of money. Chasing TV is an old, out of date way of thinking. I wish those leaders would step aside or adopt new ideas.
I think what needs to happen is more cameras on the sidelines, for example, the ending of heroes for a day, it was just a whole point and you could hear telford screaming his head off, could see the guys in the snake making moves, you could see the inches players had of space, it displayed the sport, when you look at it from over head its just not impressive, but seeing a gun fight at eye level is amazing. longform content is probably the best way to actually show paintball, get 10 or 12 cameras, get 4 looking up both the d side and snake side, then put the other 8 around the field in spots where action is gonna happen, then have a couple guys roam around getting shots that setup cameras aren't getting. and then in post you have 16-20 angles of every point. If every player is mic'd up, and you have that many angles of every point, then you can make a real story out of it without needing knowledge of the sport beforehand. as it stands with gosports you have to know the sport to get enjoyment out of the broadcast. there is just so much happening so fast in paintball it is impossible for a broadcast to cut to the correct angle on time for a live broadcast.
Im just getting back in to the sport but the first thing I have noticed is very little local promotion. The MSXL has 3 events within 2 hours of me and one is played 5 minutes from my house and I never knew it. As to go unnoticed by someone like me who is familiar with the sport how do we expect newcomers to even hear about it let alone get out and play.
Paintball had a shot at unifying its content creators like every other idea or thing that's sold for consumption. But most paintball content creators are working under an old model that scatters and reduces engagement. They could have pushed hard, but there's no Brandon Herrera/Garand Thumb/Fat Electrician with Leviathan behind them to focus the market via content. Hell, firearms managed to intertwine with Call of Duty at certain topics. Paintball has no chance of doing anything close as it stands.
I get the appeal of having paintball on TV regularly, but I just don't see it happening nor do I care to have it happen. I feel what it would take to give the sport potential mass appeal just wouldn't be financially stable for the industry as it currently sits. Arguably the Golden Era of the early 2000's was likely the best shot it had to make it.

And it’s going to get more attention, so far the industry hasn’t really supported that idea.

Yep pretty much
Paintball is just utterly behind. It's like it's run by people that still use fax machines and mail checks out.

Some kind of capture the flag mixed with air ball Starship Trooper style.
Maybe this time it will push a new format forward?

Yeah, espn putting AC in the FU time slot wont help.

What about Amodea's show? Pb2X or something. That show ran two seasons, and everyone I know that was even mildly into paintball back then watched it.
