The problem is these predictions aren’t really predictions, they are just going by whichever economies are growing the fastest RIGHT NOW, and that they will just continue to grow at exactly the same rate for the next 75 years. It’s like saying because a football team has been on top for the last 10 years, obviously they will just keep winning championships because they’re on top right now, as if sports doesn’t change all the time. If it was as simple as picking the “best” teams or the teams with most potential we’d all be millionaires.

Now India's poverty rate is lower than both US and China with 10.2% while China and US have 15%.
But population makes more people in India falls under poverty, percentage wise, India has low poverty rate.

They have a lot of infrastructural problems to resolve, also some social problems, but definitely they have the capacity to be the most powerful country in the beginning of the next century, given the collapse of Chinese population.

India currently does not have a good enough industry. It would at the very least, need as much time as china needed in the 90s (if not longer) to build a stable enough foundation for rapid growth. The problem is these predictions aren’t really predictions, they are just going by whichever economies are growing the fastest RIGHT NOW, and that they will just continue to grow at exactly the same rate for the next 75 years. It’s like saying because a football team has been on top for the last 10 years, obviously they will just keep winning championships because they’re on top right now, as if sports doesn’t change all the time. If it was as simple as picking the “best” teams or the teams with most potential we’d all be millionaires.
