Thanks if you read this message. Ricky, I want you to know that I look up to you and the rest of MIW. Please never stop making music. Even if you can't tour, I never want you to stop releasing your art. You and Chris have helped me through a lot of pain. You helped me believe in myself and be comfortable being an atheist. You've done a lot for so many others too. Never give up. Thank you, MIW. :)
I am not musically inclined so I have no idea what any of the video content means but just wanted to thank you for such a great video yet again! Your passion shines through and I can’t wait to hear what comes from it!
It’s so much fun when a new toy inspires you (mine is a camera)! You just get lost in what you’re doing and before you know it, boom, it’s three hours later. LOL I don’t know about you, but to me it feels like falling in love with what I’m doing all over again. 😊 As always, thanks for sharing!
The sound fresh out of the box is amazing. I am and have been an owner of a Helix (twice) and Kemper (once). After doing some research on the Quad Cortex I am interested in getting one. The stock tone just sounds ridiculously good.
Dude, I was dreaming every week about seeing you guys first time at Knotfest Brazil 😢 please comeback this year, I will fly across the country again to see you, just please comeback 🖤🇧🇷
Insane the power of this little guy. The important thing you noted is playing through something that inspires you to play. Really hard to get that nowadays I feel like. Big thing is the live travel aspect of it as well. Hoping to have one of these in the future!
I am coming from Boss Katana and Helix and I can tell you I never thought that a amp modeller can make my ears happy ..is so easy to make it sound very very good..lile the guy in the video said some amps I don't need to do nothing..sounds amazing straight out of the box. But my advide is don't try it trhu Headrush FrFr..as I did in the store and I was so close not to get it..but I saw so many videos about QC and I was sure that it sounded bad in the store because of the FFR At home I use studio Monitors and is amazing😍
@@Nicolae8607I use a real guitar cab and my amp’s return fx. It’s the best modeler I’ve had. Sold Kemper and helix. It has the feel and the sound. The best UI. Not tied down to a computer. It’s fun to fool with. I still love my amps and pedals. They’re staying. I haven’t had that many yrs with them and I intend to enjoy them. But the quad is right after them.
I wish I would have known about this sooner. Forget my suggestions on guitar tutorials or play throughs. I will never make a suggestion again. This is very informative for an intermediate player like myself. ❤
Ricky!!!! My guitarists and I just got 2 of these and they’re SICK (the 🤘kind ofc) one for both guitars and one for my bass. Off the gate, I tried out one of the Darkglass presets and was immediately like “THIS IS THE ONE” this thing honestly blows my mind, AND it’s future proof. Great vid man.
My guitarists use nerual dsp’s quad cortex and its the best thing for all of us in our opinion. No only is the tone and quality of sound still present. But its easy to go from the studio to the venue and you dont have to deal with loading in and out heavy ass gear.🖤🤘
Love love love love my Quad Cortex thus far. Easily my favorite piece of gear I own. Haven't gigged with it yet as I've been dialing it in but first one coming up this month.

What a cool little device! I love how good it looks and sounds, how intuitive it seems to use, and with all those features, they still kept it light and not chunky. Also, I'm the 666th like on this video. Nice.
This thing looks awesome! I picked up NeuralDSP's Archetype Petrucci plugin over Black Friday, and the quality of the out-of-the-box presets blew me away. Something about the response (I'm guessing there's some machine learning modelling happening there) felt like nothing I'd really experienced from an amp sim before. I just used the "Heavy Rhythm" preset for like a week without changing anything. The transpose feature has also been game-changing for me. I can just leave my Strat in E standard/drop D and my 7 string RGD in B standard /drop A and reliably play anything from drop F to E standard. No more whacky string gauges to enter metalcore breakdown territory.
Every time you post something it makes my day better! Are you going back to substack? I really loved it! After I finish this video I'll go back to my math homework 🤣
It's Incredibly amazing how y'all went from Huge Mesa Boogie Cabinets and Peavy Tube amps with separate pedals. To Literally the Smallest, most simplest and coolest Amp modeler that you can do everything in one & that now sounds so much better than real amps in my opinion. I Have a Helix Rack but I definitely should upgrade to the Cortex!! I love your Guy's Music so much!
Could you do like a gear tour? Would like to see your custom ibanez’s and wouldnt mind knowing about your kemper tones? Give us a run down on your rigs/set ups/etc!
I definitely did learn something new from this even though I may not have experience with this, it was new to me so thank you! Happy (late) new year and I hope you will have a great one! Also, are you feeling better from the weeks when you were sick? If that’s not the case, I hope you get well soon! Wishing you lots of fun for this year and we’re all looking forward to new interesting content this year!
This review helped a lot and jus got one too hehe. Axe fx 3 is now placed at the studio for tracking and etc but this unit specifically for live use. Thank you sir!
I absolutely love this type of videos cause they just show how much passion you have and it's such an amazing thing to witness! and btw speaking of picks what material do you prefer? I'm still trying to figure it out for myself! Love you Ricky!
Scenes are very useful in a live setting. I see it as presets within a preset. For my band I use mostly four different sounds, might vary from song to song. Basically dist, lead, clean, clean lead. So I set up a preset per song and use scene mode to switch from, for example, a heavy dist tone to a super clean tone with chorus, delay and reverb with just clicking one button. And all the delay times are set to the tempo of the song for that preset so I don’t have to tap the tempo. And the “freeman” amp is the Friedman BE-100
I'm going to have to look into the scene settings and figure out what works for me. That sounds slick. Yeah I've been informed about the freeman, I'm not sure why I didn't get catch onto that as I was looking through them. Thanks, Markus!
How does this machine understand tempo from an external source? If the drummer has his own click synced with backing tracks, how does the quad cortex sync to it?
Sounds amazing as always Ricky! Wondering if you wouldn't mind uploading your live presets and sharing your Neural DSP name so we can download these epic tones!
Ah the quad cortex has arrived, nice! Its funny to hear that it feels so natural because that is what most kemper user say about the kemper itself. That it has the most "real amp feeling" because of the exact profiling aspect. I'm a Line6 Helix user so far, but every time I see that kind of vids I am kicked haha. I am excited to see if the QC becomes your new live equipment. Would be glad to see more vids like that, more gear/guitar talk and maybe some riffing. Ok, enough babbling.
The Kemper never felt like an amp nor did the helix. Both needed help with pedals for feel and sound. Just never used them and was tired of having spent so much and not using them. I love the quad. They got the feel and sound down and the workflow is easy. The UI is great too. Set it and forget it.
I've gotten my QC three weeks ago and absolutely love it. It simply sounds unbelievable. Do you plan on sharing your presets via the Cloud and if so what's your name on there? Greetings from Germany 🤘🏼
And they have cool skins you can get for them like diamond plate or skulls or basically anything you want just do a search for skins for the quad cortex
Thanks for making this video! I've had my QC for a few weeks now and I love hearing people better than me get great tones. What kind of pickups are you using here?
Had mine just over a year and it’s still inspiring. You should use scene mode for live, what I do I have each patch named by song and then have all your sounds for that song inside 1 preset.then you simply just have scene 1 have your rhythm stuff on, scene 2 maybe a clean for that song. Ect ect
Interesting, but is that not essentially the same thing as having a preset made for each song and using the stomp mode as a pedal board for live? I think i'm still unclear on the benefits of scene mode. Gonna need to do some research.
I love the happiness in his face, just like a kid with a new toy, I hope that we have new music with this! ❤
