Super fascinating, not a guitar player but an IT person, great to see designs that are well thought out an usable for the intended audience.
I love the happiness in his face, just like a kid with a new toy, I hope that we have new music with this! ❤
I love watching your videos and seeing how happy you get when you are talking about something you are passionate about it makes me and a lot of other people happy, keep up the amazing work Ricky! thank you for the content you create :)
Ok but I absolutely love watching you talk about this stuff and your photography stuff you light up so much and seeing you happy makes me happy 😊 I really need to learn more of this stuff anyway to play too so watching you explain it helps me a ton thank you Ricky
The simplicity of this thing is insane and fact you delved into it a matter of minutes and got a tone like that is crazy!!
This is a cool piece of equipment. The simplicity of it is the best part, too.
I am not musically inclined so I have no idea what any of the video content means but just wanted to thank you for such a great video yet again! Your passion shines through and I can’t wait to hear what comes from it!
We love your videos!! Keep them coming please ♥️
Love love love love my Quad Cortex thus far. Easily my favorite piece of gear I own. Haven't gigged with it yet as I've been dialing it in but first one coming up this month.
I was watching the little When Love Met Destruction documentary this morning and now seeing this blows my mind how far musical technology has come
Dude, I was dreaming every week about seeing you guys first time at Knotfest Brazil 😢 please comeback this year, I will fly across the country again to see you, just please comeback 🖤🇧🇷
The @neuralDSP has so much to offer, and lots more to come! 2.0 update should be coming out any day. Great video!
It’s so much fun when a new toy inspires you (mine is a camera)! You just get lost in what you’re doing and before you know it, boom, it’s three hours later. LOL I don’t know about you, but to me it feels like falling in love with what I’m doing all over again. 😊 As always, thanks for sharing!
I'm digging mine a ton as well. Thanks for sharing!
The sound fresh out of the box is amazing. I am and have been an owner of a Helix (twice) and Kemper (once). After doing some research on the Quad Cortex I am interested in getting one. The stock tone just sounds ridiculously good.
Great job on this tutorial and jamming while showing off the units Metal sounds which are frickin bad ass! Gotta get me one now. Thanks for your video. Because of you, I am sold brother!!!
Insane the power of this little guy. The important thing you noted is playing through something that inspires you to play. Really hard to get that nowadays I feel like. Big thing is the live travel aspect of it as well. Hoping to have one of these in the future!
I am coming from Boss Katana and Helix and I can tell you I never thought that a amp modeller can make my ears happy ..is so easy to make it sound very very good..lile the guy in the video said some amps I don't need to do nothing..sounds amazing straight out of the box.
But my advide is don't try it trhu Headrush FrFr..as I did in the store and I was so close not to get it..but I saw so many videos about QC and I was sure that it sounded bad in the store because of the FFR
At home I use studio Monitors and is amazing😍
@@Nicolae8607I use a real guitar cab and my amp’s return fx. It’s the best modeler I’ve had. Sold Kemper and helix. It has the feel and the sound. The best UI. Not tied down to a computer. It’s fun to fool with. I still love my amps and pedals. They’re staying. I haven’t had that many yrs with them and I intend to enjoy them. But the quad is right after them.
I love this video !! I enjoy your videos so much . Your voice is very soothing
Spit my tea out when those texts popped up on screen 😂Informative video. Thanks for sharing Ricky!
Happy New Year with LOVE
Ricky you looks great! I hope you got better🙏🏻
I definitely did learn something new from this even though I may not have experience with this, it was new to me so thank you! Happy (late) new year and I hope you will have a great one! Also, are you feeling better from the weeks when you were sick? If that’s not the case, I hope you get well soon! Wishing you lots of fun for this year and we’re all looking forward to new interesting content this year!
I wish I would have known about this sooner. Forget my suggestions on guitar tutorials or play throughs. I will never make a suggestion again. This is very informative for an intermediate player like myself. ❤
Insane tone Ricky, so beautiful in my ears =)
I don't play guitar or understand most of what you said but the sound it was making was incredible.
Am I the only one who was shocked at the F bomb when he always bleeps them out 😂😂😂 love your excitement over this!
Ricky!!!! My guitarists and I just got 2 of these and they’re SICK (the 🤘kind ofc) one for both guitars and one for my bass. Off the gate, I tried out one of the Darkglass presets and was immediately like “THIS IS THE ONE” this thing honestly blows my mind, AND it’s future proof. Great vid man.
Great review!! I'm definitely intrigued! Btw, huge fan of your music!!
yes dude! hope to see some presets from you pop up on the cloud!
Please make more videos with this thing because it’s so cool!
First of all, I need that water bottle👀
Second, this really is an awesome piece of equipment, love how happy you are with it and how you explained it to us!
Thanks for that video, I'll be able to make several sounds now, I love you Ricky ❤️🥺
I’m sending this to a friend who’s a guitarist. Sounds like a must have! xo
I don't even play guitar and you've sold me on it lmao I love seeing videos where you're excited about a product 😁🖤
Idk how to play guitar or any instrument at that lol 😂 but I love the video and watched it all the way thru it’s interesting to me and sounds so awesome… keep the videos coming Ricky and happy 2023 😊🎉🖤💜🤷♀️💜
Hola Ricky, Feliz año 2023, éxitos siempre y saludos desde Paraguay 🇵🇾🗝️🖤
It sounds astonishing 🖤🤍
I don't understand any of this but nice to see you again Ricky
Thanks if you read this message. Ricky, I want you to know that I look up to you and the rest of MIW. Please never stop making music. Even if you can't tour, I never want you to stop releasing your art. You and Chris have helped me through a lot of pain. You helped me believe in myself and be comfortable being an atheist. You've done a lot for so many others too. Never give up. Thank you, MIW. :)
For all us agnostic/atheists.......🤘🏼🤘🏼
Brother you appeared on my RUclips recommendation today and I loved your video. You’re awesome.
Hell yeah, that's awesome. Thank you! Appreciate you watching!
Hey Mr Ricky!! This Quadcortex is absolutely amazing! I’m dreaming to have one!!! You can do absolutely everything ! Really!! Cheers from Belgium 🤘🏻
We just upgraded to these. An absolute game changer.
happy new year's to all of you in motionless in white keep rocking
Do I play guitar nope, do I know what you’re talking about nope, but I do just love watching you be happy about your new gear
I bought it just for the cool buttons.
This thing looks awesome! I picked up NeuralDSP's Archetype Petrucci plugin over Black Friday, and the quality of the out-of-the-box presets blew me away. Something about the response (I'm guessing there's some machine learning modelling happening there) felt like nothing I'd really experienced from an amp sim before. I just used the "Heavy Rhythm" preset for like a week without changing anything. The transpose feature has also been game-changing for me. I can just leave my Strat in E standard/drop D and my 7 string RGD in B standard /drop A and reliably play anything from drop F to E standard. No more whacky string gauges to enter metalcore breakdown territory.
My guitarists use nerual dsp’s quad cortex and its the best thing for all of us in our opinion. No only is the tone and quality of sound still present. But its easy to go from the studio to the venue and you dont have to deal with loading in and out heavy ass gear.🖤🤘
Wonderful !!! Well done , I like it !!!
It's Incredibly amazing how y'all went from Huge Mesa Boogie Cabinets and Peavy Tube amps with separate pedals. To Literally the Smallest, most simplest and coolest Amp modeler that you can do everything in one & that now sounds so much better than real amps in my opinion. I Have a Helix Rack but I definitely should upgrade to the Cortex!! I love your Guy's Music so much!
Been using the Helix for almost 6 years but I’ll buy this after much research. Keeping my Helix anyway.
This review helped a lot and jus got one too hehe. Axe fx 3 is now placed at the studio for tracking and etc but this unit specifically for live use. Thank you sir!
Ricky its sounds sick I can't wait to see u play and to meet all of miw
we need a video of you shredding on it for a while, gets me super inspired and i dont even play the guitar haha
That sounds amazing
What a cool little device! I love how good it looks and sounds, how intuitive it seems to use, and with all those features, they still kept it light and not chunky. Also, I'm the 666th like on this video.
Nice.
This was very informative thank you very much
Love watching just to see you geek out despite being fully clueless, love this
Haha! I should've given it another week to REALLY figure it out, but I couldn't help myself.
@@RickyOlson oh I meant to say that I'm the one enjoying you geeking out when I'M clueless since this technology isn't familiar to me 😭 but I would love to see you do another video on this as you learn it more, you're incredibly skilled with this stuff
I absolutely love this type of videos cause they just show how much passion you have and it's such an amazing thing to witness! and btw speaking of picks what material do you prefer? I'm still trying to figure it out for myself! Love you Ricky!
I'm a drummer and a vocalist so I know nothing about guitar lol But I enjoyed learning a little about this. Hope you're well and I like the haircut :)
Every time you post something it makes my day better! Are you going back to substack? I really loved it! After I finish this video I'll go back to my math homework 🤣
do i have any intent on using this? no, but i’m watching the whole through bc i’d like to know how it works
My thoughts as well, no idea what’s really goin on but I’m here to watch the whole thing and learn about it
same
🤣👌
Same
It's very addictive due to the simplicistic path to sound creation.
Thanks for sharing this. awesome
I like these, thanks man.
Sounds amazing as always Ricky! Wondering if you wouldn't mind uploading your live presets and sharing your Neural DSP name so we can download these epic tones!
Could you do like a gear tour? Would like to see your custom ibanez’s and wouldnt mind knowing about your kemper tones? Give us a run down on your rigs/set ups/etc!
I'm buying one this week!💯
I really love your videos 😻🖤
sound so sick!!!
I literally bought mine after watching your video.
Happy New Year! 💇♂️ ❤
Nice cortex, Ricky!
DUDE!!! You have my dream Amp!!! This made me love you even more now!!!
I Love my quad cortex easy to use and great tones
3:58 the freeman 100 clean hit DIFFERENT
Wow!!! The guitar sounds soooo fucking good!! This is really cool!
Huge tones man!
More of these or just you playing around would be great.
Ricky, have you tried the Soldano lead? Or the evh blue or red with a dirt in front of them? You don’t need them but they can make them sound better. Or the old trick where you up the dirt or overdrive’s volume and lower the gain to sculpt the amp sim’s distortion.
I got the same "problem" when i got my QC. Those factory sounds are so good and there are so many. What else do i need?
Scenes are very useful in a live setting. I see it as presets within a preset.
For my band I use mostly four different sounds, might vary from song to song. Basically dist, lead, clean, clean lead.
So I set up a preset per song and use scene mode to switch from, for example, a heavy dist tone to a super clean tone with chorus, delay and reverb with just clicking one button. And all the delay times are set to the tempo of the song for that preset so I don’t have to tap the tempo.
And the “freeman” amp is the Friedman BE-100
I'm going to have to look into the scene settings and figure out what works for me. That sounds slick. Yeah I've been informed about the freeman, I'm not sure why I didn't get catch onto that as I was looking through them. Thanks, Markus!
How does this machine understand tempo from an external source? If the drummer has his own click synced with backing tracks, how does the quad cortex sync to it?
@@matenorth you can send MIDI from an external source to the Quad Cortex
He's like a kid on Christmas! This is awesome! That sounds so fucking good too.
Man we've come far from back when all i needed was a Boss Metal Zone, and a Compressor. lol
You can also basically run a full band guitar wise. You set four blocks 1 for bass 2 for rhythms and one for lead Etc etc
Is this actually Ricky?
Wait, did I just stumble across Ricky from MIW's channel while searching for some QC videos?
Didn't know you had a channel! Love your music man
I use petrucci and nolly’s neural dsp plugins and didn’t know they had this. I’ll have to check it out.
I've gotten my QC three weeks ago and absolutely love it. It simply sounds unbelievable.
Do you plan on sharing your presets via the Cloud and if so what's your name on there?
Greetings from Germany 🤘🏼
Hot damn!! Gonna have to get one!! 🤘🤘🤘
I'd like to see more videos of you on this unit. Please share your presets on the neural app!!!
Knowing its comes stock with the peavey 6505 distortion is killer!
Does it have any delay when changing to different presets in preset mode for live gigs?
( going from distortion to clean)
I know this is an old video and I’m not sure if you’ll see this Ricky but if you happen to, I was wondering which would be easier to get to drop a tuning or drop g for guitar wise if I should use my 6 string electric or get a 7 string?
It looks very nice and I hope it helps you out for the long run for when you use it. ❤ ❤❤🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻💋💋💋
What do u plug it in to? Is it connected to a cab or studio monitors?
Thanks for making this video! I've had my QC for a few weeks now and I love hearing people better than me get great tones. What kind of pickups are you using here?
Hell yeah! This guitar is rocking the Seymour Duncan blackouts.
I am completely clueless on all of this, buuuut I watched the whole thing like I had a idea of what was being said 😂 sounds sooo sick though
Ah the quad cortex has arrived, nice! Its funny to hear that it feels so natural because that is what most kemper user say about the kemper itself. That it has the most "real amp feeling" because of the exact profiling aspect. I'm a Line6 Helix user so far, but every time I see that kind of vids I am kicked haha.
I am excited to see if the QC becomes your new live equipment. Would be glad to see more vids like that, more gear/guitar talk and maybe some riffing. Ok, enough babbling.
The Kemper never felt like an amp nor did the helix. Both needed help with pedals for feel and sound. Just never used them and was tired of having spent so much and not using them. I love the quad. They got the feel and sound down and the workflow is easy. The UI is great too. Set it and forget it.
Welcome to the club. Wait till you get into using IRs. The freeman is the Friedman BE 😀
Hey boss what do you use at home to test these tones? Just your monitors?
Good stuff
When he uploads on my birthday!! 🎉😁
@@Alexandra1111 thank you
Do you have it plugged into a amp or just a speaker?
That's super fuckin cool, probably gonna invest in one of these when I get better at guitar
