Main reason why i find either the Blood Dragons or Strigoi bloodline more interesting, is that they wanted something better, they wanted their curse to end in a manner of speaking (Living normal lives depending on the timeline though). Its all about the* eternal struggle of undeath (finding a purpose).
In regards of justice and above all honor, both bloodlines shares a heavy burden of sorrow/sadness in regards of betrayal from the other Vampire Bloodlines.
hence why i must say those two stand out for me, since they were all out damned (at least the Strigoi vampires were) by their own kin out of spite of jealousy to begin with.
Von Carstein bloodline will be the best, on mechanical terms, sincr it will allow you to have ranged units, the lack of which is a major weakness of the Vampire Counts roster.

Actually I'd argue the necrarch bloodline is better. They try to rise above their base instincts and only feed early due to discipline. They become learned loremasters in their dark towers instead of mindless monsters.

Strigoi were my favorite of the bloodlines. I love their background and bestial model. I hope they are OK with this update, I remember them not being so great next to generic vampire lords last time I played VC.
The original vampires are very interesting characters. Good work on covering them! I can’t wait till you get to Vashanesh, Vlad is one of my favorite characters from Warhammer.
You always question how events could have changed had Neferata not been so selfish and narcissistic. There could have been an empire of vampires that could have rivalled all other empires. The blood dragons and strigoi always seemed to move beyond this selfish notion that most other vampires seemed to possess and the strigoi could have ended up much like the blood dragons and even united.
Vampires living forever probably played a role into the infighting. Humans with limited lifespans are content being loyal, with infinite life spans, humans are less likely to remain loyal forever.
Excellent video, my favourite bloodline. I'm planning a kemler faction and strigoi Lords only playthrough soon as the patch hits.
I wish these lore youtubers would release picture packs of what they used in the video. I love the artwork they find and I have trouble finding high quality art like that.

I love these lore videos and I am even more excited to have these bloodlines in Total War Warhammer, I can finally have a coop campaign with my bro where we aren't handicapping one another if we want to play the Vampire factions.
The Giger inspired Strigoi/Mourkaine artwork would be so amazing in-game.
Alcadizzar body was found in the Blind River by Kadon. Kadon got the crown and became a Necromancer and wrote 9 necromatic books called De Arcanis Kadon. Kadon got defeated and killed when he was betrayed by the Strigoi Vampires that took the crown from him. The city was later besieged by a massive Waaagh of orcs. The Strigoi knew the city would fall. When the city of Morgheim, later Mourkain got destroyed, the Strigoi fled north towards many directions and the Strigany people fled, becoming gypsies, living at the edge of the badlands and moving both towards the plains of the Border Princes. Though they escaped being controlled by the Strigoi, they had no realm anymore. The Strigoi moving into the Empire later.
7th and 8th ed didn't make bloodlines non-canon they just removed your ability to specifically choose one. Basically you could kit your vamps out to be part of a bloodline but it was a choice in and of itself, except for the Ghoul King that was a separate choice.

Easily my favorite Bloodline. Had a nice force of them in 6th ed Warhammer. Didn't touch Warhammer at all during AOS and now I found your channel through Total War: Warhammer (just got the game a month ago). I really wish they'd release this bloodline in the game, much more interesting than Sylvanians IMO. Currently playing Strigoi with a mod. Great content and keep up the awesome work.
Best part to all of this: in AoS, for those who care, the Strigoi now have their own army (in a sense) in the Flesh-Eater Courts. It's the army of Strigoi, Ghouls, Horrors, Vargheists (in the army called Crypt Flayers), Terrorgeists/Zombie Dragons, and the Varghulf.

The bloodlines are such cool lore, such a shame that it's been retconned. It seems that a lot of Warhammer lore (40k very much included) is being watered down and simplified which is disappointing.

@@ogge9296 No, TW: Warhammer is an adaptation of the source material. Sorta how LOTR movies are to the Tolkien's books. But any "new" material they produce requires GWs blessing, so Cylostra is canon because GW approved her. But you conquering the world as Cylostra is not canon. Regardless, canonicity in the Warhammer universes is such a shitshow so it really doesn't matter. GW themselves simply pick and choose what they like and what was popular, and ignore previous ideas to death. Most of the time fans are the ones who have to sort these things out and reach a consensus.

God Neferata was such a bitch. If I remember the lore correctly she also tricks Abhorash into drinking the elixir of life without telling him about the whole vampirism side of it, hence why he goes off to do his own things during the fall of Lhamia.
It's actually why I really want her to be a lord in TWW. So I can hunt that bitch down as Khalida, the Strigoi Ghoul King and if he gets added Abhorash.
Of the bloodlines I find the Strigoi to be the most tragic. Struck down by Neferatas machinations when they were just trying to create a paradise for vampires.

They should make a 4th undead faction, that includes Arkhan the Black, Neferata, and can unlock Nagash in the late game.

It would remain, but it would no longer be a "Tomb Kings" faction. He and his territory would instead have the same buildings and army roster as Neferata and all other members of the new undead race (if the word "race" works in this context). Chances are, many of the units on the new roster would be similar to what Arkhan already has access to.

Dlc very sad. We need every clan start in their land. Necrarch: forest of shadows or grey mountains. Strigoi in badlans and mourkain. Blood dragon in bloody tower or aquitainne/mousillon/challon forest. Lahmia in silver pinacle or kislev or character playable in empire.

So will strigoi ghoul kings now not be generic lords with the introduction of blood lines?
I imagine that the Bloodline lords will be more like the Tomb King tech lords, i.e. that they are separate and have additional abilities. So we would get to keep the generic Ghoul King but also get a supped up one too.

There were 11 originally, and during the sacking of Lahmia, there were only 7. 5 in the old world, 2 in Cathay and the Northern Chaos Wastes

Harkon is a Blood Dragon(sired by Abhorash himself),Noctilus is Von Carstein.The other two aren't vampires.

@@nickathanas1898 Blood Dragons can use magic - they just don't care for it as much beyond just raising their minions.
Harkon has no magic because he gone played with reptile toys.
And @G Bogdan - I believe blood lines is being kept for the VC so Vampirates just get generic vampires
