Flesh Eater Courts: Cannibalistic villains so deluded, sometimes they fight for good guys.
Small little nit pick but Sigmar didn’t have Stormcast when the Age of Chaos began and he was rampaging through Shysh to find Nagash. He would have only had mortal armies at the time.
Sorry!!! That was 100% me getting overly creative with the writing on it. You're totally right on that
In addition he couldn’t actually find Nagash and bend him to his will. Nagash escapes his wrath and Sigmar leaves to azyr having wasted time. Nagash is then left to his own devices to fight off archaon
Heck yeah Flesh-Eater courts! I love that battletome. Its clear that everyone involved into this had lots of fun. From cover that reveals more and more terrible details the longer you look at the blood red background, to the lore that shows the absolute disconnection of the Flesh-Eater minds from reality. Easily one of my favorite AoS books lore wise.
Its refreshing to see people doing AoS lore without trashing it the whole time.
It's nice to see it fleshed out enough to be gone over. It seems like they've gone back to linking it to the old WFB after initially wanting to distance themselves from it.
@@DayneGodwin excellent pun!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Reign Hugo instablaster ;)
@Aiden Cristiano thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Really enjoyed this man. I always had a suspicion that the FEC were an overlooked faction to play because on the surface it's ghouls and blood drinking beasts, but their lore makes them super interesting.
I like how the flesh eater courts see the nighthaunt as vengeful ancestors coming to their aid and Lady Olynder as a kind of 'Lady of the Lake' figure :)
I’m glad to see more AoS stuff. Can’t wait to see one for the Gloomspite Gitz.
Watching this as the new Flesh-Eater Courts go on! For Ushoran and New Summercourt!
the gollum impression earned a like for sure XD!
It’s kind of interesting how ghouls, though not undead, are affected by dark magic. Probably has something to do with their lost humanity due to their cannibalism or something.
It's the madness that the ghoul king emanates.
I love that the Flesh Eater courts are a dark mockery of Brettonia, showing that even the nobiliest of knights can become depraved cannibals.
ItalianSpartacus talking about AoS? Instant like
i died when Gollum showed up.
@6:40
Stormcasts weren't around at that point, they weren't Age of Chaos period until the absolute end of where their assault into Aqshy by the Hammers of Sigmar brought about the Age of Sigmar. Any soldiers Sigmar would've had at that point would've been from the kingdoms apart of his alliance, so at best the closest he would've had to SE's at that point would've been Azyrian soldiers or knights.
That was 100% me getting overly creative with the writing on it. You're totally right on that! Sorry brotha hahaha
Probably my favorite faction fluff wise.
I love the Flesh Eater Courts so much. You don't get to see many factions or fun content for ghouls (besides them being enemies). Hell you barely ever see ghouls be shown as a type of undead very often.
I'm not the biggest fan of AoS since I really enjoy the setting of the World That Was but the more I hear about the lore I feel like I'd love to explore this in a Total War game when CA are done with the current triology. Checking out some of the models they seem like they'd make really cool units. While I hate the stupid brass baloons of the Kharadron Overlords (Not to mention the armored top hats. They did the poor dwarves real dirty) I think factions like the Idoneth Deepkin look spectacular!
Dude I loved the fantasy dwarves so much from total war so I was excited to see their AoS counterpart, and when I saw the Kharadron Overlords I was so sad ☹️ they did my stunty bois so dirty
So basically:
**degenerate roaring**
(Tr: “Tally ho, friends! Smite these barbarians for king and country!”)
Basically yeah, to the flesh eater commander he's a resplendent, strong, handsome, brilliant man, a great leader and noble knight who leads his valorous, loyal and brave 'men' (ghouls and horrific beasts) into glorious combat, setting out to slay what they perceive as vile monsters threatening their beloved kingdom. (whether their enemies are literally monsters or humans they see as such matters little to their delusions)
Great videos. I'm looking forward to getting more AoS lore from you in the future!
Hell yeah, i fucking LOVE ghouls and strigoi in WH. Wish we will have more of then in some sort of End Times dlc to Total War.
Finally, someone who properly pronounces ''von carstein''
A very extremely awesome video as always ItalianSpartacus.
That Gollum was too good that you can't convince me that you aren't Andy Serkis
Sold, going to go buy my first AoS army tomorrow - Flesh Eater Courts for sure.
Wait did you see the new vampires?! They're amazing looking!!
@@italianspartacus I did! Actually what got me looking for an army, just this one felt right!
Okay cool cool! Just wanted to make sure.. Enjoy brother :)
Woah! Talk about a great Gollum voice! Next time I battle a Mortarch I will give them that voice
i would love to know more from the ogres in AOS
Buy their battletome.
Basically there are two cultures of Ogres: the Warglutts and the Beastclaw Raiders. Warglutts are basically the old ogres from Fantasy except they worship Gork and Mork instead of the Great Maw, Beastclaw Raiders are basically Ogres that are magically cursed to be perpetually nomadic because a magical Blizzard follow Beastclaw Raiders wherever they go. Basically the Warglutts are primarily the infantry of the Old Ogres while the Beastclaw Raiders are primarily the Cav and Monsters of the old Ogres. Before you freak out they didn’t split the Ogres into two separate armies, all the info is in the same book and you can take Warglutts and Beastclaw Raiders in the same army, the only real difference is that Heroes with the Warglutt tag gets different traits and artifacts from Heroes with the Beastclaw Raiders tag, and also Beastclaw Raiders get a unique rule to represent their magic blizzard and if you have Beastclaw Raider General you can make the big Ogre Kingdom monsters count as Battleline units, so you can basically make an army of like 5 stonehorns or thundertusks.
Alright alright alright.
I got to say this is a much more interesting take on sub-human, beastial vampires then the old Strigoi.
Although I do feel bad for Bretonnia, they have definitely gotten a raw deal in AoS so far.
Also didn't you talk about some Bretonnia + Blood Dragon idea you had one a steam a month back. What was that all about?
I'll make a video on it separately since it'd be 100000% conjecture :)
@@italianspartacus Alrighty, sounds cool and reasonable.
Also you do realize what I'll be bugging you about during future streams right? ; P
I miss Bretonnia. If only the end times didn’t retroactively kill What little was left of Bretonnia’s dignity from the time of Gilles onward.
I think the Fyreslayers are pretty dope. Nice vid, looking forward to more Age of Sigmar
Go into each of the Grand Courts of the FEC
These are my guys. I find their lore fascinating.
Has there ever been an official picture Ushoran? all the books and searches seem to give me a generic ghoul
A great voice and well read
More AoS lore! Really cool stuff.
Running the double Terrorgoose army on TT
Ushoran. aka Swoll-Smeagle
What 😂😂😂. Noob.
All I can think about when I listen to these lore videos is "How stupid is X character" This case being Nagash. The Great Necromancer is about as smart and savvy as a box of rocks. Seriously, if his Mortarchs weren't halfway competent, he'd be destroyed multiple times over.
I wouldn't say this is Bretonnia. Bretonnia was utterly destroyed in the old world. This is more akin to a Bretonnian like society falling into decay. Either way FEC has really interesting lore.
It's not Bretonnia, their delusions have a Bretonnian theme.
Before you started the AoS lore series I sincerely believed the AoS lore was just generic high fantasy plastic junk. But I have to say these are in fact interesting, would love to see the delusional Vampires in a PC title one day. Keep up the high standards Spartacus, it is always a pleasure!
Thank you man!! I'm hoping to have some fun in vampire masquerade when it comes out :)
WOW THEY GAVE THE STRIGOI BACK THEIR KINGDOM! ( even if briefly) I'm not sure we deserve this gift!
How do you say more about the lure on a carry and Kane thought about their units like ghouls they're bigger counterparts the Crypt Horrors
Do a lore bit on the Blisterskin Flesh Eaters. They're really nasty sounding.
5:30 another iron cage? Perturabo is such a thief
Sorry if you’ve talked about this but does Bretonia exist as grail knights or just regular humans at all in the AoS
No mention of them just yet.. But i have a theory I'll be posting in a separate video :)
ItalianSpartacus alright I appreciate it man
Great!Hope more AOS videos!
Give us all the lore, even if its 5 minute bits on factions/enclaves within the races.
hey there spartacus i know it's not the perfect video for it but i am writing a detailed story that takes place on a ironclad ship during the end times but i can't find anything aboud the amount of passangers it can hold could you help out? thanks and great video :D
I actually do not know my brother. I'd look up the actual historical ironclad ships of the British and that's a pretty good idea of what they were probably like for WH since most of it is based off actual historical fact
@@italianspartacus thank you for the response spartacus i will use those stats and probably put a dwarven twist to it. Do you think there is any interest in fan fiction set in warhammer fantasy?
Poor necrachs you can get neferata and coven thrones you get flesh eater comets you can get vlad and manfred voncarstien you can even get blood dragon lords and blood knights but no necrachs😢
Yes make the individual lore.
Do Sylvaneth next!
Fear the Old Blood...
What I want to know is how TF they get more of those giant bats considering the world that was is gone forever
I'm guessing it's some bs about the new realms having them native to shyish
Tbh a better idea would be that they're an offshoot of the varghulfs, the varghulfs themselves no longer being bestial vampires but an evolution of the crypt horrors
This way all their units only rely on converting more mortals to their banner without the need to add more bs
Love it need more AOS !
FEC isn't literally Bretonnia, but their delusions are a nod to the Bretonnia of the world that was.
Also I don't get the connection to brettonia, it's more of a mockery of ancient nehekhara since that's what ushoran would remember
Oh the book outright calls it a connection to Bretonnia. These guys think they're Knights, not tomb kings.
It's like an easter egg of sorts. The theme of the delusions is clearly Bretonnian.
this reminds me of the gear wars from rick and morty for some reason
Please do stormcast eternals next!!
Daughters of Khaine plz and thank you
Carschtein!? You mean Carstein?
Yeah I kind of see the illusion what the ghouls and ghouls King negash made a stupid mistake
It really sucks if this is really what happened to Brettonia. This really breaks the deal for me on an otherwise AoS cool faction.
Don't lose hope! Gilles le Breton is technically still alive ;)
It's not literally Bretonnia, the delusions of the Ghoul Kings have a Bretonnian theme.
Brettonia has two sides, the nobility but also the brutal cruelty and savage treatment of the peasants by the knights. I like to think the FEC is the "purgatory" for those knights who abused the peasants for their own selfishness under only a thin presence of chivalry, while the true knights and heroes are doing something awesome we haven't seen yet! 😉
Do more age of Sigmar lire
Lore
Yes, because this ought to appeal to Bretonnia collectors. :-/
In a way...yeah, especially if you could kit bash them with some rusty, worn out Knightly armor the flesh eaters deluded into thinking they are noble knights protecting their kingdom from vile monsters.
That said, yeah I wish we had a proper knight based faction in Age of Sigmar. Actually partly why I would want such a proper knightly faction would be the bizarre yet interesting interactions they'd have with the flesh eater courts. What would they think of these horrific beasts, these ghouls and mordants acting like they were nobles themselves? Would they be weirdly flattered or offended beyond belief? Would some of the human knights try to make them more in line with the reality the flesh eaters think they're living i.e. not wallowing in so much filth and blood, atleast make them more "clean cannibals".
Just imagine a Brettonian successor faction being invited to a 'lovely' banquet from their neighbors a flesh eater court!
@@navilluscire2567 lol. Yeah, that would be a fun interaction.
something something first comment
finally a cool AoS faction no offense sparty but the new high elves are not interesting at all :P
YOU'RE NOT INTERESTING! hahaha I'm kidding.. You're not wrong.. There isn't anything super stand out about their Lore so far
3rd
More proof warhammer fantasy is vastly superior to age of everything is wrongmar
In your opinion. I'm personally enjoying the lore now and the ongoing conflict of the Soul Wars.
@@mogwaiman6048 It sure isn't warhammer
@@keegobricks9734 It's the sequel dude. You gotta get over it already. GW moved on from recycling the battles of Praag & Dead Fire Pass.
@@mogwaiman6048 lol it's not the fucking sequel. It's the dequel if anything. It's less like warhammer than world of warcraft is at this point.
Oh yeah, they just had no choice. not like there's Ind. Nippon. Cathay. Or parts of Lustria, or the Southern realms to explore. I guess their only option was generic fantasy schlock sandwiched around warhammer fantasy battles characters' names.
And no I don't need to "get over it". I won't ever be buying anything related to age of sigmar, either they make warhammer fantasy stuff (which they are bringing back) or I just stick to warhammer 40k (until they wreck that).
Keego Bricks dequel isn’t a word. And judging by your ever growing and ever angrier replies, I believe we have a potato sack in our midst.
Só they killed a bretonnia/blood dragon faction, for this shit because the poor stormcasts cannot lose the spot light? This is really sad...
That didn't happen
@@italianspartacus are you sure because it sounds and looks like it
@@leofindel It's not. If anything, the Blood/Grail Knight faction is still theoretically possible.
