Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands. Hello sweet ladies well I'm in now a rehab center to be able to walk again because my blood pressure kept dropping when I stood up. I had to complications from the infusion for the and it messed with my adrenal gland that produces your adrenaline. So I have another week here and probably a couple 3 months to get my strength back to walk without a walker or a wheelchair. I can't tell you how proud I am of the work you guys do that wood shed looks phenomenal. Stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless and enjoy sending a hug to all of you🌈👍✌️😍🧑🎄

I just have to tell you guys that my six year old and I watch you guys together nearly every Sunday. I so appreciated when Crystal mentioned she had gotten past her fear of heights-I think that’s such an important message for kids (fears are not necessarily forever)! My daughter has said she is fearful of heights ( a healthy fear maybe lol) and I saw her face light up when you said that! At the end of the video she said with a smile, “ we’re part of their pack” ❤

We love our woodshed! We built ours attached to the back of our house for easy access in the winter. Currently we have enough wood for 6 years and most of it we got free by clearing after storms! Love free heat! A lot work - cutting, splitting, piling and re-piling! Enjoy ladies! It’s all part of the fun.

Nice to finally see a wood shed. It dries the wood much better than tarps and it will burn better and give off more heat. Great job on another build.
51yrs. Old , worked with my father and my brother and two sisters on our father's construction company, building college, schools, grocery store, condos and homes. For years I love the smell of the fresh cut wood. Love looking at the before and enjoy the results. Love watching y'all, all way in North Carolina. Keep up the amazing work. Stay warm and be safe 🙏👍💪

Girls I think I can truly say you’ve given new meaning to world of the off gridder life, the way you’ve resurrected that tired old hunters flop cabin to a place of serenity, love and style, I believe you’ve made a lot of people very jealous of what you have, I truly love your homestead and wish you every success in your future projects and adventures, may I ask would it be possible for a video showing how you grow and store your food for the year, I’ve been a subscriber for a while but it’s possible I’ve missed it if you’ve already done one.

I was so confused as to why anyone would screw into the ribs, and then I remembered that warmer temps probably don't need to worry about frost lol
You both are absolutely inspiring! My wife and I just watched and now she’s telling me that anyone can do anything if they have the drive to succeed!
So glad to see so many whole pieces (not split) in your wood pile! If you have been using mainly split pieces you will see a big difference in not only the number of pieces you burn but hotter temperatures and longer burn time making fewer times that you have to restoke your stoves. For those of you that don't know, whole pieces or "rounds" burn hotter and longer producing more BTUs than split wood of a comparable size. Here's another pro tip. When making pieces into kindling choose split pieces that have straight with no twists or bends in the grain and is free of knots. This will save you SO much time, energy and frustration when making kindling.

In the future, if you (or a viewer) do steel roofing metal, take a stack of them and get them even at the top and bottom. Make your marks for the screws and then drill (with a drill bit smaller than the screw) through the stack. That way you have a hole for the screw that is the same in each panel, plus the hole makes starting the screw easier.
