Sky Bees 2 is a sequel to the origional Sky Bees modpack! The main generation of resources in this Pack is about Bees. It is a Skyblock style beginning, without sieving or Ex Nihilo. Till you get your first Bee and then you have to breed them to get all of the Resource Bees. Some Recipes are made a bit harder to make it a little bit challenging.

For anyone unaware you can make torches by putting sticks on a campfire. No need to waste charcoal or time using a furnace.
Quartz dust + high temp jar = 1 Nether Quartz, 1 Nether Quartz + Grindstone = 2 Quartz dust. Don't know when/if that will be fixed.

Things to think about/tips for anyone interested:
Botany pots are only really useful for stuff you can forget about for a while, or that are awkward to continually harvest. Each plant has a time to grow (I want to say 2 minutes) and only has a percentage chance of giving drops at the end of that time. The time can slightly be sped up with different soils I think, but the percentage chance always remains. As seen here the tree pot is VERY slow at producing wood and requires the sapling to do so. This is useful for a slow crop of apples or sticks but since wood is in high demand for crafting and decoration you might find yourself growing trees constantly. The wood bees are GREAT for wood production, a fully staffed level 3 hive has 8 wood bees, a 15% hive delay reduction, and 10 wood combs it can store before harvest. Thus 1 bee cycle pretty much fills the hive. 3 wood combs can be crafted into 3 of almost any log so great for decoration and crafting. Once automated you won't ever need botany pots for saplings.
Tall grass can be grown in a botany pot for use in crafting T1 hives if grown on grass. Grass can be made in the tempered glass jar. Flowers are also growable for standard bee breeding if you want a source of plain combs for more hives without needing string. Botania's mystical flowers also grow in these pots, once you have one of each color just put them in a pot and forget about them.
The bee smoker can be used to pacify hives before harvest (some iron/refined iron and some leather, cow seeds exist for leather) so you don't have to awkwardly put the campfire down under every hive. However automation of the hive with a comparator and dispenser (I think Isaac hinted at this in the video) does not need the hive to be pacified since the bees don't aggro if the machine harvests them. (I haven't got to automation in this pack yet but it should be the same as the original sky bees).
BEE BREEDING IS GUARAN-EFFING-TEED! In sky bees 1 there was a chance when breeding two different bees of getting the next type, in this pack the breeding is guaranteed to be the next type of bee. NO MORE do you have to keep checking if you got the right type of bee and politely removing the stupid unnecessary ones.
With Iron and a basic botania setup you can make dielectric paste (charcoal in mana) and a starter furnator from powah. This machine can be used to power the upgraded centrifuge without needing redstone (though that isn't hard to get). Be aware that the centrifuge uses more power than the furnator produces at this basic level so without multiple furnators you might need to just do one comb at a time.
Since you have a cobble gen and an automatic block for the tempered jar production of lava you have an infinite lava source. This is useful for magmators and the smeltery from tinkers, with fluid pipes (iron and redstone) you can constantly refuel them though you might want to make more soul fires to speed up the lava production. Lava bees also exist but you would need to automate the centrifuge to automate their lava production and you don't get a full bucket from each comb. ADDENDUM: I found out that the fluid pipes don't actually connect to the FTB jars, BUT the cast iron tubes WILL connect and use other liquid inventories like the basic tank from Mekanism (4 iron and 4 redstone) which you can then pipe out of.
It's a good idea to keep 2 of each bee type in a secure chest so if you accidentally aggro your bees (I smoked a torch instead of the hive and lost all my gold and cobble bees mid breeding) you have a breeding pair to work with. Since each bee can breed with it's own type two is all you need.
There is a honey tank that is easy to make, jars of honey can be placed in here and a bucket can be used to pull the honey out. There is also a honey congealer block which turns liquid honey into blocks.
Feel free to add more tips or bring up issues with these in the replies, always interested in other players thoughts!
Thanks for the tips. More compact automation would be a timer along with a dispenser (with scrapper inside). You will need some sort of collection. I used a absorption hopper which can be made early on.
Another tip I thought of was making a compact chest then adding 10 row upgrades and 10 column upgrades. Place that next to a tinkers crafting tables and now you have a poor mans me. This only requires access to iron iirc. (Not sure how useful it is as I do see simple storage in the pack but haven’t looked at the requirements.)
Mob filter (player) is useful to get in and out of your bee area without letting bees out.
I would also add my couple of tips here:
1. Craft bee box asap. Not only it can extract bees from hive (you don't wait for them to come out) but also it is bugged. When bee is collected using bee box all its stats are reset including breeding cooldown, growth cooldown and even lost sting. Not sure if it is patched already.
2. You can batch craft 20 of cobble and wood bees, place them on two 5x5 platforms, floor as pollen with hive in the middle. This generates a lot of honeycombs to craft many t4 hives.
3. Automatic clay can be made using 1 cobble gen, 3 hoppers, 2 crushers, 2 drawers, auto jar, 3 jar pipes and a sink. Useful for getting unholy amounts of clay, useful with tip 2
4. Getting into the Nether is not difficult. You may get lucky and find fortress nearby. If you do then know that wither skeleton skulls are not hard to obtain (every skeleton drops 1/9 of skull). With 3 skulls wither, nether star and apiary can be achived before automating hives. Wither can be killed using smallest compact machine. You spawn a wither, teleport out of it using travel staff and wait 5 minutes for him to suffocate. Or you could chunkload machine, spawn him, travel back into overworld and return after 5 minutes. Fighting wither can be challenging because of mod that makes wither progressivly harder.
5. Ender pearls can be get using enderman dna. Black dye is easy, dna also not hard and wart drops from seed ore. Seed ore is lava touching water over 3x compressed coble. Upon breaking ore diffrent seeds and saplings drop
6. If you want to explore fortress with essentialy iron gear, botania can save you. Blaze powder is mana tranformation product from flint and gunpowder(killing blazes for alchemy catalyst may be requried). Glowstone can be gotten from the same method (as well as redstone), which allows for crafting charms of strengh 2 and long fire resistance. Helps tremendously while exploring fortress.
7. Auto lava gen is useful. 1 cobble gen, couple of auto jars and soul campfires, jumbo tank (only iron and glass, can store up to 1024 buckets) and jar pipes. Nothing difficult
8. Getting apiary speeds up bee resource gathering. I recommend making at least 1 using method from tip 2 and 4
My knowledge of the modpack may be a bit outdated, but it wasn't changed much since I finished it, so most tips should be accurate
And just as a quality of life make a matok useing tinkers as a all in 1 tool to save on repairs and more inv space
@@Wichajster-op8sp I never thought of cheesing the Wither with a tiny compact machine. Not sure how I feel about that, on one hand it simplifies getting nether stars, on the other hand it seems a little too cheesy.
If you want it to feel less cheesy, you can fight him in 5x5 compact machine, maybe add some iron golems. But fair warning, wither is tougher than normal because of progressive bosses mod, his health is larger with every wither killed, spawns minions and can 1 hit you with charge/dash of some sort. Eventually fortresses have chests that can have diamonds to craft mob masher, in that case you just teleport behind compact walls using travel staff, place lever on the outside of compact machine to power lever (wither was very often destroying my redstone power and turning off the masher) and the wither is dead in less than 30 seconds. Just don't stand on compact machine, wither can charge you from the inside. I didn't mind the cheese because it greatly sped up the pack progress (in less than 24 hours I had thousands of almost every resource bees can produce) and I was on hardcore while not being the greatest hardcore player so I got what I could. On the other hand is "cheeseing" just using game mechanics to your advantage?

I found a small exploit to get unlimited charcoal before you get a furnace. Making campfires takes 1 torch. Breaking it will give you 2 charcoal. Taking 1 charcoal, crafting it with a stick, gives you 4 torches. Repeat
You can just click on a campfire with a stick to make it a torch and keep the coal, if you want. Aside from that, great idea!
Use ethereal glass to make the bees' house, and place the pollinator blocks as the floor (I'm Brazilian, despite knowing a little English, I still used Google Translate to avoid confusing information, I watched several of your series)
I'm not sure if you've already done it, but for anyone watching you can use a dispenser with shears to harvest the beehives automatically.
Replace the fireplace with a hopper, the bees won't get angry at a dispenser.
The redstone is probably the hardest part of it if you have it unlocked already, but you can do the majority of that outside of the enclosure.
Whoa, one episode later and Isaac made both more torches and more tempered jar auto-processors! I'm going to claim credit by way of my comment in ep 1, even if that's not the case. 😁 Next up: More regularly fueling furnaces with coal/charcoal instead of constantly stop-gapping with planks.

I couldn't tell, can it be used to spawn non-bee mobs? If so, then I'd understand it, but yeah, if it's just for bees, they totally should've called it BeeNA.

Tip for bee rooms: Make each room 3x3 inside, have the cobblestone or iron-nectar in each of the four corners, have four bee nests, in the middle of each wall, one block above the cobble or nectar, with all the nests clockwise or all the nests counterclockwise.
As Isaac already demonstrated, a comparator and dispenser for each nest complete the setup.
Bees can enter from any side, including the rear, but will only exit the front. With nests arranged clockwise, the bees move clockwise.

I know it’s kinda late for this series but for anyone just starting out…
It occurred to me while watching the process of getting honey from cobble combs… (unless it is somehow disabled) it may be more efficient early game to use regular Minecraft bees and hives with glass bottles to get your honey for making bee nectar blocks

Pretty sure you throw a flower into a botania mana pool. You can check the recipe in JEI just click on the mushroom and look around.

Is it just me or does the Video feel sped up a little? He speaks,so quick and the movement is just a little to fast, looks and sounds much more natural on 0,75 Speed

@CrazyBeardedGamer ok so you say the caffine consumption of the person also speeds up the game itself? His character moves noticably quicker then a normal character, and since he hasnt progressed very far (if at all) through the modpack it is obviously not a speedbuff or anything like that.
