The reason why the maf sensor has that honeycomb screen is to allow the air to travel in an even pattern so when it comes past the little sensor at the back, it’s measuring air correctly. I know it definitely looks like some sort of filter but the metal is very fragile and if there are bent bits it could negatively affect how the air is measured. I’ve worked on my lancer for a long while, but i love watching your vids working on yours.
Hey dude!! THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO 😄 This makes a lot more sense hahah 😂 part of me thought it would have something to do with the airflow but I wasn’t sure! I’m so glad you enjoy these videos! What kind of lancer do you have and are there any kinds of videos you want to see me make? Thanks for your support dude and thank you again for the MAF Lesson!!! 😄
@@KyleSpoor i actually have the exact same model that you have, i’ve done most things on it from changing all the fluids/filters, to dropping the gearbox to change the clutch (was not very fun). Keep the vids up man, i love seeing what other people do with their lancers gives me a different perspective when i work on mine 😄
Oh no way! That’s so sick dude 😄 I wish I was comfortable enough to take the transmission off haha I’m genuinely so happy you like these videos dude! Means a tonne 🥺 Is there anything you would want to see me try?? I’m super keen to learn and open to suggestions! Thanks again dude!
@@KyleSpoor i watched your latest vid on your plans with the lancer, i reckon the suspension would be a good place to work on, i’ve done some suspension work on my lancer before it wasn’t too difficult to work on mainly because i had penetrating fluid and a meter long breaker bar to help me 😅 Though i also reckon the whole braking system would be cool to do, you could smack some slotted rotors on the front, maybe even do a rear disc brake conversion, replacing the brake hoses and bleeding the system. Bleeding the brakes with two people is probably the easiest way to do it if you dont have a brake bleeding tool (very expensive).
Haha I might need to add a 1 metre breaker bar to my shopping list 😅 and good idea! A rear brake conversion could be sick!! I’d love to learn how to do that! Not sure what it would cost but I’ll definitely do some research 😄
