  • Carp anglers have numerous options to choose from when it comes to baits for carp. But you can’t go wrong with worms. These natural baits have been used for fishing much longer than the modern ones. Their wiggly motion and scent will make even the laziest fish to bite!
To make the worms efficient, and really get the best of them, you have to know how to use them.
So here are the 5 tips that should help you catch a big one!
#1: Learn how to store and transport your worms
High temperatures and lack of moisture can kill even the most resilient worm quickly. To keep them alive for longer, store worms in a plastic box with air holes, and place them on a natural compost bedding that contains enough moisture. Keep them away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
#2: Learn how to cut the worm
When making a very long worm shorter, but want to keep it alive, always cut off and use the tail part first. Worms can survive when cut in pieces, but only if you keep their head part intact. Where to cut also depends on a worm specie.
But, even if you want to use the entire worm, cut away just a tiny tail part. It will release a lot more scent in addition to wiggling and attract the fish better!
#3: Use worm pieces in the prebaiting mixture
Carp is a cautious fish. To make it comfortable to bite your bait, include worm pieces into the prebaiting mixture. And you can use whatever you like as a base. One of the easiest solutions is to use breadcrumbs with different attractants, mixed with a few worm pieces.
    #4: Spice them up
When the conditions are not that good, even the tastiest worm may not be enough to get a carp bite. So, if you are fishing for a very lazy carp during cold months, add some sweet attractants to your worm. Briefly soak them in the flavored liquid and use in a same way as you would use them without it!
#5: Learn how to set the hook for carp
Setting a hook for carp is not easy, and it is not very intuitive. When the carp bites your bait, it will instantly swim away. But first, it will check out the bait. The key is to ignore the checking and when it finally bites, wait a second and then set the hook. Just make sure to be gentle in the process, not to tear up its lip and end up with an empty hook.
    Conclusion
Worms are an excellent bait, and if you are having no success, there is a chance you are doing something wrong. Beginners often have a hard time hooking the worm, casting the worm and that results in a lot of frustration and missed opportunities.

Some good tips Bro, but how would you suggest actually putting the worm on to the hook!! Would you pierce it through the middle or at the head? Also would you pump air into it or not? Or would that depend on weather you want to fish it on the bottom of the lake or not? sorry for asking, I enjoyed your video but so many unanswered question's!!

Which end of the worm is its head? If that collered part of the worm is the head end.. It could be the only animal on this planet with its balls under its chin..
