This tutorial is Sooooo absolutely golden. Thank you so much. Immediately actionable steps that take you through the entire process. I know my content creation has been improved from just this one video. 😊
Oooh adding to watch later, my ongoing project has been to go through my Google Photos and build a B-roll library of everything I already have - and I’ve gotten several video ideas doing that as all the videos tell previously untold stories. I think it’s my first time commenting on your channel so let me just thank you for your golden tips 😊
yes that's awesome!! it's such a pain going back through all your old footage but it's so worth it, and I'm glad to hear it's inspiring some new video ideas :)
You are the best; thank you for speaking clearly and slowly. There seems to be a trend on RUclips for creators to speak so quickly you can’t understand what they are saying!
I'd been thinking about something like this but more abstractly so this is a welcome topic to help me get the ball rolling. Thanks for another great video Katie.
Hi Katie. Just fyi, I watch (listen) to all your videos and love them all! I never like or comment because I’m always listening to them while I’m driving, but I wanted to let you know that I do watch them all and I appreciate your content
Hey Katie! ✨ I wanted to say a huge thank you for making such amazing videos with wonderful tips and tricks for content creators! Your channel is helping me so much grow my RUclips channels, and stay organized and creative. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ☺
I think that you filming yourself showing us the process of filming your own b-roll helps out immensely because i have found that process to be annoying and ot has kept me from filming all together BUT now after watching this video it has helped me understand the process and re-sparked an interest starting to fillm. That being said do you have another video that goes into more depth watching your creative process filming yourself as a solo creator, behind the scenes style? I would love to see that to learn more! Thanks
Thank you SO MUCH! Getting ready to relaunch my Instagram account, and I especially love the folder structure. I'm a stickler for folder structures, as well. The Premiere workflow is also TOP TIER. Having my VA watch this as well so that we're on the same page. I really appreciate you making this walkthrough!!
The value of your information is so ridiculously high here, it's insane. You're super insightful and super chill and easy going at the same time. Telling us super valuable stuff without sounding like you're a what not superstar famous RUclipsr. You're aweeeeesome ❤
This is such a valuable video Katie. Building a B-roll library is important as they make your life as a content creator much easier, unless you want to/can spend money on subscriptions.
Katiiiieeee! You are putting out SO much useful content lately - thank you!! Also, very much a side note, but just wanted to say that you really understand your colour palette well, the colours you wear suit you so much.
Girl. This video was a gem. I would like to do better with creating B-Roll for my RUclips Videos. I never thought about doing 3 different shots of the same scene. I am definitely going to implement that tip and I am also going to structure my Adobe Premiere bin to include one solely for B-roll! Thanks girly!
This is awesome!! I am very visual, so seeing the step-by-step on how to do this is very helpful, I haven't seen anyone else do this!!! I am not very good at using broll, so I am encouraged to set aside time, get out, and film. Thank you for this useful info. Take care 💖
This has been so useful. I am new to making videos and I am trying my hands on every type of video at the moment. After doing some sit down videos I realised I was going around with camera to capture b rolls every single time! This was something that occurred in my mind but thanks you actually said it out loud. I would’ve thought I’m wasting my time capturing b rolls in advance!
Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish!! I used that book and 501 verbs when I was learning to speak spanish. Thank you so much for the tips on b-roll just what I needed.
This couldn't have come to me at a better time because I'm looking to start creating vlogs on my bookish channel. I know the importance of b-roll, but would usually go about it a different way. Your tips will definitely come in handy and the Notion template. Thank you! I also realized that I was subscribed to you through my other account when I would watch your stuff about Instagram. You definitely have a new subscriber because I am VERY interested in your RUclips content. ✨
Love this! Here's a nerdy file question... what do you recommend for storage space for the large video files? I haven't worked with cloud storage much, but I'm definitely maxing out data storage already on my too-small laptop (and phone)
Hi 🙋🏻♀️ this is one of the best videos on how to create and organise b-roll ❤ huge thank you for all the work you put into this! I was wondering. Can you make a video on how you created a project template in premiere pro? I noticed that you can save projects as templates now but I would be interested in how you created your project folder for premiere pro. Maybe to tech-y but I‘d love to see this 😍🤩
Hi! This happens to me sometimes when I get home after a filming day and discover I have not filmed enough by roll for my intros or in between bits. Now I'm always making sure I have just enough for the edit and what I need!. 🙂
Thank you soo soo much for your help! I started my youtube channal in January & you have been an amazong inspiration ❤️ I‘ve watched every video & you are helping me so so much! Lots of love from Germany❤
Katie always knows what video I need before I even know video what I need This is gold! Was literally thinking of how I can find better ways to organize my b roll shots 🫶🏼 thanks girl
Great and engaging content as always! One question, do you keep the B-roll library on your harddrive? It must be taking a lot of space combined with other video footage.
You're really good at making videos, and I can't quite put my finger on why. Analyzing this question, has very improved my own videos. It's like looking at something that should be bad, but is instead, very very good.
I think the short answer, is that RUclips is 20 skills, and you're good at all of them, without going down any of the rabbit holes that ruin a video. This isn't too much camera, too much script, or too many expensive toys, it's well balanced in a way that makes regular folks watch it and think "I can do this!"
Great video, thank you! I tried to get your free b-roll shot list but the link under the video leads me to a page where there's nothing to click. How does it work? Did I overlook something?
I've been collecting my own B-Roll for years. You see my videos are pretty bad, and I need a complimenting poor B-Roll to keep the harmony. A sort of balance of nature; you don't shovel horse manure and suddenly find a hidden diamond. tHanks for the video
B-roll of you showing us how to create b-roll. You really are one of the best teachers on YT. Thank you.
haha thank you!! it was confusing to film lol but worth it I think
I know right?🥹
This is literally what I was just thinking. SO meta, SO genius.
I uploaded my second video yesterday and have 9 subscribers. I’m so grateful to learn 🎉 here’s to all of us trying to grow!
Love this!
Congrats on the channel! I just subscribed so you have 1 new subscriber now.
How exciting! I have a whole 4 subscribers 🤭
katie i swear you always a make a video on exactly what i’m trying to do next 😭 literally filming all my b-roll today ty girl!!! 🫶
THIS IS SOMETHING NO CREATOR TALKS ABOUT. THE ACTUAL SMALL THINGS YOUVE LEARNED ALONG THE WAY
This tutorial is Sooooo absolutely golden. Thank you so much. Immediately actionable steps that take you through the entire process. I know my content creation has been improved from just this one video. 😊
I’m still in my cringe era, so these lessons are so wonderful! Thank you for being so transparent! ❤

Perfect timing, thanks for sharing this Katie. B-roll is a game-changer, this adding fun to the content. ❤️
I love how you break this down for us. It makes the idea of taking action feel that much easier. Thank you Katie!

You are my new favorite mentor/creator! Thank you, thank you. Your channel has exactly what I need! ❤
I cannot believe I searched this topic just now and found your video posted 4 hours ago. Perfect timing, thanks!
Katie, Your teaching is truly some of the best I've found on RUclips. Incredibly informative and yet personable, relatable and funny. Thank you!!

Is there an easy way to get you tube format video and broll for instagram at the same time ?
This has been so useful. I am new to making videos and I am trying my hands on every type of video at the moment. Loving all the advice from your channel. You have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with content creators just starting out.

It was very useful, thank you, Katie!
When I tell you I was literally struggling searching about B-roll yesterday! Wow Katie you’re in my head girl!
i'm so glad I could help!!
Do you have a video on what you use for storage? What hard drive do you use?
Have you done a video on video templates and setting up folders in editing programs? I am going back to see if you have and do a bit of a catch up.
Love the organizing tips! Thats my main struggle! Thank you!!!
This is so useful 😍 loving your videos!
Love this! Here's a nerdy file question... what do you recommend for storage space for the large video files? I haven't worked with cloud storage much, but I'm definitely maxing out data storage already on my too-small laptop (and phone)
Is it possible to do the same things on FinalCutPro X?

Thank you for this. You are amazing 😊❤
At 10:57 what do you mean bins in premier? Can you expand on that
❤😂❤ thanks Katie! Another week of fantastic ideas. Sometimes I also now use Pinterest to save body angles I want to try 😂 I should organize.
Hi! This happens to me sometimes when I get home after a filming day and discover I have not filmed enough by roll for my intros or in between bits. Now I'm always making sure I have just enough for the edit and what I need!. 🙂
planning ahead definitely helps smooth out those. 😅
Please do more file organization and naming structure videos! Especially for client content :D😍😍😍
Thank you so much Katie this was amazing and helpful. Can you add text to your b rolls on CapCut on your phone?
Your videos are so helpful thank you 💛

I’m learning so much from your videos, thank you! ❤️
Thanks for this video. As I am watching this I am trying to think how I can sync this using my iPhone
Great and engaging content as always! One question, do you keep the B-roll library on your harddrive? It must be taking a lot of space combined with other video footage.

Great video. Hadn’t thought of doing a broll day.

This was perfectly timed.
Great video, thank you! I tried to get your free b-roll shot list but the link under the video leads me to a page where there's nothing to click. How does it work? Did I overlook something?
Perfect video
You're so inspiring! ❤
Love thisss!!
What settings you use for zve10 recording I have the same camera
Very helpful!
Super duper helpful.
informative content
Do you think this applies to vloggers? Or does B roll need to be done more in the moment for vlogs?
side note but how has it taken me this long to realise I have the same sofa as you haha I've seen that camera b roll so many times 😂
also if you were wondering, the audio does bounce off the walls in the room
I've been collecting my own B-Roll for years.
You see my videos are pretty bad, and I need a complimenting poor B-Roll to keep the harmony.
A sort of balance of nature; you don't shovel horse manure and suddenly find a hidden diamond. tHanks for the video
Did you create a new channel?
