DITTO to the comment below!!! Because of your attention to details, B-Roll is making sense. I am confident that I can edit in B-roll. Your work is so excellent!! We are so grateful for a content creator who openly shares what is really needed!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
I'm so excited to share that after watching this video, I successfully added b-roll to a video in Canva! Your explanation was easy to understand and your presentation is well done. I appreciate this video so much and I look forward to learning more from you. Thank you!!!

Wayne, this was amazing, as usual! Thanks for these latest tips. I am so tired of talking heads and I love how easy it is to make canva videos more creative and interesting. Thank you!!!
OMG!!! Timing really is everything! It’s like you heard me struggling on Friday, trying to figure this out. Wayne, your videos are amazing! There are hardly any tutorials on this subject, so please keep making more of these detailed, creative ‘how-to’ videos. I’d absolutely love to learn more about recording my screen, too. And animation in videos-Canva’s great, but I’m finding its video animations a bit limiting compared to Keynote’s precision and control. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Keep them coming! 🙌
I do find Keynote has more granular controls for animation, but I will definitely look at doing some tutorials on this and screen recording. Thank you! 😁
@@createdbywayne Thanks Wayne! I really appreciate your commitment to creating a channel that’s both meaningful and purposeful-not just more 'noise.' I know a lot of older employees (myself included!) are eager to dive into Canva and embrace change, but the transition from PowerPoint and Keynote can feel so overwhelming, especially with presentations that are text-heavy, use bullet points, and require timed animation. I’m excited to use Canva and provide a more polished presentation, but to get there the learning curve is HUGE and at times leaves me feeling dejected. Thanks for helping bridge that gap!
@@createdbywayne Hi Again...would also love to learn how you choose/use sound effects for more engaging videos...especially some of the ones you've found and used...whenever/if-ever it fits within your content calendar down the road, of course, and if others indicated similar interest. Will try to refrain from requests going forward!
I came for the content and then got distracted and enthralled with how absolutely perfect your beard is! Kudos on both 🥳 Thank you so much for these wonderful videos, I have been learning how to up my Canva game enjoyably with you.

New sub here. Your videos are extremely helpful and useful for someone like me that's new to using Canva. I know know how to implement B-roll into my content.....and it's not as difficult as it seems. Thanks!
Hey Eric! I'm glad I could help. Canva has its limitations when it comes to video, but it's actually great for simple edits like B-roll. Glad to have you here! 😊
Thank you, Wayne! It's another super useful, clear, and easy-to-follow video! 🤩 Is anyone else facing technical issues when creating videos and animations with Canva? Mine keeps freezing, crashing, or showing glitches. Sometimes, when I download the animation, it looks different than it does in Canva! I have this experience only with videos + animation, not with images.
Hey Vivien - I haven't had that problem (yet!). Every now and then I have to refresh Canva is something doesn't look right, but so far not been too bad. If you haven't already, it may be worth recording a screen grab of what's happening and getting in touch with support@canva.com to report the issue. Hope it gets sorted asap!
Canva’s video editor is still not as good as other dedicated video software, but for short form video it’s a good alternative for easy edits and b-roll. You don’t need a frame for text boxes and elements because inserting them won’t affect the timing of the overall clip, so it’s a little easier to control in the timeline. 😁
@@createdbywayne thank you for the reply. I was having issues with text and inserting for a few seconds without clipping the background video to make the text disappear.
I get so much from your videos and appreciate your knowledge and experience with Canva. I am hoping you can help. When I download my Canva designs and try to upload them to say Printify, Shopify etc. in attempt to create products, I get notices that my files are low quality. Do you have recommendations on how to export my designs from Canva to prevent this?
It's tricky to say for sure what the issue is as it can different depending on product, size and the design itself, but for the best print quality you should first ensure your design is the correct size for that specific product - the print platform should advise on what size is best. Also export your design as 'PDF Print' in Canva. This option exports at 300 DPI and includes crop marks and bleed when selected if the platform requires bleed. There are a few Google search results that may help if you search for "Exporting Canva designs for high quality print". Hope this helps.
@@createdbywayne Sincere appreciation for taking the time... I will look into exporting for high quality printing. I think the way I was wording the Google searches was limiting my results. Thanks so much!
In your own video there's a text which pops up "create the right vibe" with a check box and a tinkering sound... How did you do that??? Would love to know please... Your videos are simple and easy to follow / understand... Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us :)
That's just made up of a text box, a square for the check box, and a 'check mark' element. The text box wipes on, and when the check mark appears I just add a little 'bell' sound effect from the audio library.
Hello Wayne, thanks for the tutorial👍. I tried to put B-roll to my video in Canva, but it didn't work for me. My videos are aprox. 10 minutes long. Adding a frame, that all the time splashes through all 10 minutes and manually adjusting it from each side is super annoying. Do you have any trick for that?
I'm afraid I don't really. 🫤 Canva's video editor really works best for short-form video and - as good as it is - I think it struggles a bit with videos that are longer than a few minutes. I definitely think you'd benefit from a more robust editor like CapCut or something similar: capcutaffiliateprogram.pxf.io/g1jYR9 Even the free version is super powerful and pretty easy to learn. Hope this helps 🖤
I don't know of anything in Canva that does that for podcasts, but if you select a video clip in your Canva design, then choose the 'trim' tool - it will also give you two options that will select the best bits of your clips. They are labelled 'auto-trim' and 'highlights'.
Do you have a video where you show an a-roll video that goes to the side and you display information on the side (looks like a presentation). As in, your talking head is taking up the entire screen, but when you list off something, your talking head goes to the side and then the information is the main focal point. Sort of like loom, but with the talking head video taking up half the screen? Please forgive the explanation. I'm sure there's a design term for it, but I don't know it.
Only because TikTok is not a platform I have experimented with (yet!), so I don't really feel like I know what works/doesn't work there, and don't wanna pretend I do 😜.
