  • UNDERSTANDING THE BUNNY EARS KNOT - TECH TALK - THE ROPE ACCESS AND CLIMBING PODCAST
Hello and welcome back to The Rope Access and Climbing Podcast. This week I’m chatting about understanding the basics of the bunny ears knot. I get a lot of questions about this knot. So, maybe this video will clear up some of these questions in the future.

Thank you. Ive seen many videos on how to tie and use but this is the first that demonstrates the adjustability of it. Very useful.

I first learned about this knot while watching 125 hours, when Aron Ralston used one hand & his teeth to tie Bunny Ears before descending a 60' vertical drop

Thanks! Have a question in my mind for a while regarding the bunny ears knot.
As the knot is going to 2 bolts is the knot redudand? Meaning, for example a rock drops on one of the ears and cuts the rope. The question now is, the shared strand on the bunny ears knot.. will it slide out on the other side and completely "fall out of the system" or the friction in the knot is high enough to hold the shared strand.
If this above is a possible issue with the know, what other knot would you suggest?
Hope I explained it well, and thanks on the amazing videos
