I'm a HUGE fan of R&GrD! One of Tom Stoppard's best plays and perhaps my favorite Oldman movie. If memory serves, I saw it at The Dobie when it was first released.
Torabhaig! I was able to visit there in 2017 when visiting Skye on vacation just as they were opening & had started to distil. Super nice bunch of people. Haven't had a chance to try it yet though.
Great review! ...Oh I can't wait to try this. Exciting that there's another distillery now on Skye. I visited Skye in 2017 and I still think it's the most beautiful place in Scotland. Now I have even more reason to visit again one day 🥃👍
This is an amazing Scotch- I absolutely love it! I visited the distillery in 2019, before their product could officially be called Scotch. A gorgeous distillery, and I hope to visit again once the world re-opens.
I found this at my local store today. They were clearing out the back room and they found this one mixed with the newer ones. I had to pay $68 all in for it. I hope to get the same tasting notes.
A thought on whisk(e)y and video length: Nosing, tasting, whisk(e)ys 80 proof, cask strength, and stout. The one connecting thread? We need to pad this out!
So, these close ups on the hand slaps. Is that the influence of WyrmWood coming in? Or is that just a common editing technique and I'm some uniformed pleb?
@@justsomeguy-yd3yw I learned through music, learned the words for the song then learned the meaning of the words, which is a pretty odd way to learn but it works for me. That said, I've also done some of the Duolingo Scotts Gaelic and thought it was pretty good.
Received a bottle of the inagural release for Xmas. Wow -What a dram!....If only I could pronounce it correctly, I am getting worse as the morning goes on!
Good evening to all MB!!! Sounds like a very interesting bottle, next time I am in Total Wines I will definitely grab one. Button mushroom was a killer)))))
@@discostoo well not really a newcomer... :-D I really love ardbeg, talisker , dalmore, aberlour, bruichladdich etc. but kind of new in Irish wihisky. the thing is where I live green spot is only 80 proof.. yellow spot is 92 proof.... just don't wan't to spent the money on something i will regret.
@@dominicouellet1077 ah oui, well, Green and Yellow spot are both great value and enjoyable, you may find them a bit too simple/approachable based on your previous peaty exploits, but the floral notes will delight you, they're both excellent.
Hello Daniel and Rex and all MB's! :) I tried to apply to the super secret squirrel social media group to become part of the Tribe of pure Magnificence. However despite answering all 3 questions based on THE Epic Welcoming video, my application is pending for 2 days already. Just wondering if everything is alright or it may be just a technical difficulty? Cheers to You all You Magnificent Bastards!
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead - is also what Disney used for the Lion King 1.5 Movie they did which was Lion King (Hamlet inspired) from Timon and Poomba's POV
A friend of mine is convinced that you film in front of a green screen. Could you pull a couple bottles off the shelf to prove that you are in the presence of magnificent quantities of whisk(e)y?
There was a time when Daniel & Rex were so far apart in terms of personality and demeanor but there's something about this video that demonstrates a certain homogenization that I haven't really noticed before? Is it just me? Lol
A fun pointless A/B comparison is Torabhaig and Wee Beastie. 3-4 yr vs 5 yr scotch. (And don’t tell the Brits but I’ve bought 4 bottles of this already. 2 to drink now and 2 to save and compare with future releases)
Wonder idiots, UNITE!!! I read Tom Stoppard back in High School, but in 1991. Or was that summer reading in 1990? I think we read Hamlet in 11th grade, and went to Nashville to see the play.....
Thanks for adding another bottle to my list I wont be able to find for months.

I feel like you two are closer to Statler and Waldorf. (Pulling out an even more obscure reference! Muhahahahah!)
As a child of the 80s, that was less obscure a reference than R&G.
("You'd know all about being obscure! Dohohoho!")
Nice review, have you tried any of bottlings from the new distillery on Raasay yet?
Glad to hear there is a new distillery coming out that isn't just a cash grab like so many new ones have been.

Who beat up Rex?
Probably Rex
Every time I hear the theme for, titan of whiskey, I'm singing, kiss from a rose by Seal...
Whhyyyy...? Why would you do that??? 😭
The metal version is where it's at
Mushroom, peat, honey, and herbal? Damn, that sounds good
I think the bh is a V sound?
That's one of my wife's (an English professor's) favorite movies and I love it too. Stoppard's writing was keen.
One of my favourite movies and plays. Nothing to write home about....
So, these close ups on the hand slaps. Is that the influence of WyrmWood coming in? Or is that just a common editing technique and I'm some uniformed pleb?
In Irish and Scots Gaelic a BH makes a V sound. A proper Scots Gaelic pronunciation would sound like Tor-a-vague, which basically means Productive
Any advice on picking up Gaelic without paying an arm, a leg and an asshole to do it?

Good Morning Gentlemen.
Gentlemen is a stretch
@@bradboose It's kind of like saying it to a group of teenaged boys, you say it as a target that you hope they will live up to.
Dumb question..do you own a whiskey shop? Also is that in one of your houses? I think it’s bald guy’s house but not sure. Great videos!
You're access to scotch are still better then European access to bourbon 😉🥃
We always want what we can't have.
Good evening to all MB!!! Sounds like a very interesting bottle, next time I am in Total Wines I will definitely grab one. Button mushroom was a killer)))))
I imagine there's got to be some kind of legal agreements but has any Scotch actually told us what bourbon was in barrels they used?
I am guessing there is going to be a lot of MGP barrels floating around scotch barrel houses. But it would be cool to know sometimes.
There is also a Rosencrantz and Gilderstern are Undead.
Why is my request for the whisky tribe Facebook group still pending :(?
I would like to see a video of y’all taking your favorite 3 whiskeys and just enjoy them!!
Tim Roth and Gary Goldman are amazing in rosencrantz and guildenstern
I think Rex found a note of a button mushroom, but I can’t tell…
I'll do you one better: I was in a production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard.
I'll do you one better. Why is Gomorra?!
Heads... heads... heads... 😎
You win!
I love Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead!
Well....I am watching this on my lunch break
Good morning MBs!
GOOD MORNING MB's
I think "Ren & Stimpy" as a comparison would be more accurate
That my friends is Scotch mist

Anything Jameson's is great for newcomers, even the standard. Green spot is a tremendous starting tipple, and Caskmates is also very friendly.

Vegetal - of, relating to, or of the nature of plants or vegetables.
