But wait there's more! A PO BOX finally wahoo!
First, a disclaimer: So many of you have kindly offered to send me things, including vintage items you may have inherited, and I am so honored you would think of me and of course I do adore vintage treasures, however, unfortunately I only have so much storage space currently! So there is a chance that if something just wont work for me, or doesn't fit me etc, that I may not be able to keep all of your lovely things. Please only send things if you are okay with the possibility that I may donate items I just cannot keep. If you would prefer I put things that I can't keep into the TCH Etsy shop to help raise funds for me and the channel, please specify this in a note or letter in your parcel. Thank you so much!

Thank you for watching!
Very valentines-y bravo! Surely the youtube algorithmics shall bless thee, (knocks on various wooden things)
Thank you for demo-ing this! So simple! There is a top that Christina Ricci wears in the 2008 film Penelope that has a neckline gathered into a yoke like this. Lol it's a small scene in such a random movie but I have been OBSESSED with that look for so long and now I understand how to make it real!!
I feel you. Ever since i saw princess serenity in sailor moons white dress & princess odette from the swan princess white dress ive been OBSESSED im genuinely planning on making ones that are actual dresses i can wear and not like costume duplicates etc. They may also be why i have beyond the butt length hair 😂
Penelope is such a great movie 💚
I really wish youtube existed 45yrs ago when I started sewing (out of necessity) for my wife, children and my self. After remarriages some years later, I sewed a lot of my mother in law's clothes. She was very proud to inform anyone & everyone that I made here clothes.☺
Bianca, thank you for these pattern drafting segments. It helps me see how the garment comes to life. Learning a lot from you.
Thank you Deb!
That cut really flatters your figure. Frankly, I am prone to envy your figure so I have to make myself be a better person and just be glad for you!
Ha! Thank you! Forever a bit odd to me to hear, since I grew up absolutely hating my body until my mid twenties 😅
OH MY GOODNESS. Watching this was like watching magic! I could literally just watch an hour of you moving darts lol
You make the difficult so easy to follow and ,at the same time, you encourage us to be imaginative.A brilliant teacher.
Thank you Maureen ❤
You make everything look so easy! I want to try this on dress. I love the gathered yoke look, but they seemed so complicated before.
Thank you Ceara!
This kind of yoke is all over 40s fashion. Thanks so much for demoing it!
I love the more curved version. It's funny how much this reminds me of stuff I wore in the 80s and 90s, I never realized at the time just how much fashion had borrowed from the 40s back then.
These videos are so useful! There are a lot of youtube videos out there where a costumer starts with one pattern and frankensteins it with another, or simply says "oh, I want a different neckline" and then does it. It's very intimidating to someone who has always been told to follow a pattern. Your videos explain the how and why behind a particular pattern and not just how one can alter it, but why it's done a particular way (of course you're shifting the fullness of the gather, not just eliminating the darts! duh!). I have Monday brain so I'm not sure if this made any sense, but hopefully you get what I'm talking about. Thanks.
Thank you! I'm certainly glad if I can be of any help! 🧵
Endlessly enamored with watching pattern alts.
I just love the blue table of doom. Magic happens there.
Hi! Mrs.Tom here. I just found your channel and I am a fan of vintage and sewing as well. I am amazed at how you can move the dart fullness to another spot. Thank you for making it look less intimidating.
I really love these tutorials that you do. The way you show and explain everything makes me realise that it is actually pretty easy to achieve so many different looks with just a few modifications. Thank you so much for improving my sewing skills and knowledge. I look forward to more of these type of videos
Thank you Joanne!
10/10 hair and makeup :) I love these block alteration videos! I understand the premise, but every time you do any dart manipulation all I can think is AHHH BLACK MAGIC!
Thank you! Perhaps each of us has a weirdly specific magical skill and flat patterning just happens to be mine 😂
Thank you for the tutorial but especially thank you for enduring the eye pain to show a gorgeous eye look. Kind of a bonus of each video :). And I have my basic patterns so I get make my own slopers, yay!
Thank you Cindy!
Oooo purply-pearl eyeshadow! I love this one on you! It's such a beautiful color on you 🥰
Thank you Lavinia!
I love your demonstration videos, I already learned so much watching you and finally really started drafting my own patterns and working more precise and have already seen such a change in the fit of my garments. I have the tendency to not learn the basics and just wing things, which in the case of sewing didn't gibe me the same results and now I am really motivated to sew more
Love from Austria
Thank you! ❤❤
This is so helpful! My favourite repro blouses have this detailing on them, and I wasn't certain if how I thought they might be made is how they would actually be made
I have just found your tutorials...thank you for not being tizzie, love!
Ha! I was just looking at a 1940s/50s pattern that has this sort of top. Nice to see it on an actual person. Thanks for showing how to do this using a block pattern.
How did you know this was on my to sew list! You have the most wonderful taste!
Love it, I really like sweet heart necklines, this will allow me to draft one for different patterns!
Dear Bianca, another brillant video with two of my favourite neckline patterns! Clear concise easy explanations! You make It all look so easy. You are so so talented! Look forward to seeing more videos! So inspiring!!! 🌟
Thank you Nicolina!
Thank you for the demo !!! Awesome choice of either. Happy Valentine's Day 💖
Thank you Dolores!
That eyeshadow color complements your eyes so well!! You look extra pretty in this video
Thank you Sophia! It was a good hair day for me 😅✨
Absolutely love your makeup today. The eyeshadows are beautiful. Stunning!
Thanks for making this actually seem possible. I so appreciate your tutorials, whatever the project. But I'm looking forward to some vicarious thrift shopping soon; I hope!
Thank you Kaytie! No thrifting sadly, but a haul is on the horizon from things I picked up that year...
Thank you so much Bianca! Sweetheart necklines are what flatters me the most, but I struggle to find new or different ways to add them to my garments. This is such a cute alteration and you make it so simple and achievable! I think I have a button up dress pattern that will look perfect with the round version ❤️
Thank you Lu!
Hey beautiful woman!!! Happy Valentine’s Day!!! 💖💖💖🌸🌸🌸💖💖💖
Thank you Alice!
Thank you so much for those drawing/manipulation tutorials. I am gathering them into my confidence
I love the light lavender eye shadow on you. Your make up is always on point.
Thank you Amber!
Thank you for showing us this, I so love gathered yoke necklines!
This looks so elegant to me
I really like both cuts together
More pattern making/altering inspired - thanks for sharing. The curved one was a beautiful shape on you Bianca.
Thank you Tracey!
If you are still experiencing eye pain, don’t worry about wearing makeup. You are still lovely and there will always be a new video and makeup. Health and comfort is more important.
Thank you! Sadly I am one to suffer for fashion 😂❤
I love watching your pattern making videos. There is always something to learn.
Thank you Liz!
Your hair and makeup are fire! Fabulous!
I’m such a sucker for a sweetheart neckline!
Thank you!
Love the neckline on the top, very flattering. Your hair is on point
Thank you Debra!
You make flat patterning look so easy!
I luckily do quite enjoy it!
Thank you, Bianca. You are such a good teacher.
Thank you!
Thank you for this very clear explanation and demo! This will make my own sewing modifications much easier.
Thank you!
Wow I like them both
Very helpful video as always, but I also wanted to say that I think you look really glam and beautiful in this one! Like ... your aesthetic is always #goals, but your hair and makeup in this one has SUCH GOOD old Hollywood vibes!!
Thank you Johanna!
You've been busy to upload so often! Don't forget that goal to give yourself time to rest and write. Of course, purely from a selfish point of view, keep these coming!
Thanks Kathy! 😅❤ I had an oddly productive month? I shouldn't jinx it 😂
I adore your dart wizardry :)
Thats fantastic! I love both versions and will give it a try. I dont usually do much more than hem and repair but your enthusiasm is infectious and this is lovely. I ordered everything I need to make a bodice block pattern so you never know! I am telling porkies because I have done three hats this week...various iterations of pillbox hats and I really, really enjoy making them!
I havent sewn my own vintage inspired clothes in almost 2 decades but after discovering (& binge watching) your channel I've bought a new sewing machine, referenced text book for drafting plus all the things, and an impressive haul of various fabrics! 2022s frivolity budget has been thoroughly decimated! 😆 #Enabler
Actually, I just realised that of all the (many) YT craft channels I subscribe to, yours is the most educational by far and that deserves something so I signed up as a patron! First time I've ever even given a thought to the patron thing. Can't wait to delve through the newly unlocked content! 🤩
Thank you so much for your support! ❤ I hope the new sewing machine is being friendly and you really can't beat new fabrics!
Yaaaa I'm so glad u still sewing while u writing ♥️👗🎉👠
I enjoyed this shorter form instruction for drafting. I'm sure it saves you both time and money only doing a mockup. I'm only after the end view anyways, so this works well for both of us!
Thank you Gabby!
I wish you more nights out in your amazing creations! You are an incredibly beautiful woman! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
. Another excellent video. It really helps to see the whole process. I really need to make myself my own sloper so I can do this also. I really love the sweetheart neckline. Thank you for all your hard work. I also like that you speed up the process of the actual sewing so we can get the gist of the process without how long it actually takes. I can always slow it down to see a step more closely. Thank you.
Thank you Sheryl!
Thanks! It;s something I’ve been thinking about trying.
Your videos are easy to understand, and well made. Thank you for sharing your skills!
Thank you Dannie!
Wow, your beautiful today! Love the hair, makeup and the whole look. The pattern was nice too. 👍
Thank you Merrie!
Oooh! Glam on point!
I enjoy your tutorials. They are always well done.
Thank you Lesli!
B. So eye opening. What a crafts woman you are. Lois from London x x x
Thank you Lois!
Thank you so very much!!!! You just made my day!
Yes. Thank you Bee : )
thank for the demo! you also look absolutely gorgeous in the intro clip! your makeup is stunning 😻
Thank you!
This was so super helpful! Thank you!
Hi Bianca!! Lovely quick show & tell tutorial.. I’ve learned so so much from you, can’t begin to thank you.. Thanks for the demo.. Deeply appreciated….
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
Thank you Deana!
Absolutely helpful. Thanks.
As always, so useful! Thank you Bianca for sharing!
Thank you Andrea!
So helpful. Thanks so much
I love yoke detsils to break up the broad expanse of my shoulder/bust area. I finally bought a 2 dart bodice dress pattern that I can alter to make a bodice block. Instead of flying by the seat of my pants (and a list of my measurements) every time I draft a pattern. It was $1.50 in the clearance bin at my local fabric shop. Now I just need to invest some time and spoons to the endeavour lol.
can I sew?? no.
do I plan on learning to sew?? no.
will I watch every video you make?? yes.
Thank you!! ❤
I love your patterning videos. I learn so much and suddenly all the styles seem more achievable . Thank you so much.
Thank you!
Nice, so easy to understand
Thank you!
This is a great explanation thank you
Thank you so much for this
Great video, I loved seeing the 2 versions. I hope you didn’t have to keep that beautiful makeup on for too long. It sucks that you have develop a sensitivity to eye makeup. You have such a lovely collection of singles.
Thank you Sylvie! I try to film a bunch on one day so that my eyes only have to suffer once a week 😅 It's truly very annoying, but I love shimmery stuff soooo much so I cant be stopped 😩
Loved this video, I think both versions would look great done together, but I do like asymmetrical designs. Best wishes x
Thank you Heather! I agree it could be fun to mix and match!
Great video, and I absolutely love your necklace!
Thank you Debi!
Great info! You did a good job of explaining the process. Thank you!
Thank you Margie!
very pretty. im planning to try this
two great videos this week, thanx!
I had an extra productive month for some reason 😅✨
Now that I know that you have sensitive eyes, I appreciate your beautiful eye makeup so much more!
Ha! Thank you 😅 Will suffer for shimmer! However keen watchers will note I film a lot on one day, so as to minimize my days spent in pain 😬
Beautiful
This was great, thank you
Thank you Brenda!
Love this! Thank you for the instruction!
Thank you Dawn!
Thank you
A lovely quick show-and-tell tutorial. I'm itching to make these in miniature one day. :}
Thank you! Pluss mini patterns are so cute 😍
As always, your tutorials are such a joy to watch. Thank you!
Thank you Mandy!
You are amazing! Just rolling through and an easy explanation of the pattern manipulation. Wonderful to see and enjoyment to watch.
Thank you Meaghan!
Thank you very much for the demo! Also, your hair looks amazing!
Thank you Mariia!
Love learning about these techniques, thanks!
Have you done a tulip sleeve before? I’d like to see a tulip sleeve mock up. I think it would go well with that curved yoke
It is coming soon actually!
As usual... you look absolutely fantastic! 🤩
This was very helpful, thank you. You always explain things so well. Love it! 🥰
Thank you Hela!
Watching you manipulate darts and do all sorts of cutting and taping to create a pattern is like watching a sorceress! (I know you are highly trained and have years of experience, not discounting that!)
Thank you! It's secretly all magic but don't tell everyone ✨
This is a great demo of these techniques! The yokes need a light interfacing? Or no? I also wonder if they need to be self lined? Thank you so much, I love all your videos. They're so helpful!!
They can need interfacing depending on how lightweight the fabric is I'd say, in a cotton sateen? I would never since it's already pretty thick/stable, in a cotton voile though? perhaps so! Self lining is the cleanest I'd say yes, but you could do a facing at the neckline instead too, just depends on how finished you want/need the inside to be really
@@TheClosetHistorian thank you! That makes sense. Your videos are so helpful.
Thank you, You lost me at the first cut to make the curve.
This was so interesting. It is really amazing how much a slightly curved line verses straight lines changes the look of a yoked neckline. Personally, I love the curved sweetheart yoked one. I am a sucker for curves. I really loved the color of your lipstick. It is a lushish ruby red. What is it?
Thank you! The lipstick was Colourpop's Star Crossed.
@@TheClosetHistorian Thank you so much. I hope I can still get it. I loved the color.
Slightly off topic... your hair looks great in the last few videos, would you consider making a hair tutorial, just saying.
Thank you! Alas it's not down to technique, it turns out different every time, but this was just a good hair day lol 😂😅
Thankyou, Bianca. If I wanted to do the same with a princess seam dress, would I just open up from the apex? And the re-gather?
Hmm! I have never tried it! With the princess seam, the darts have been cut away, as-it-were, to create the form fitting style line, so you would have to add on the dart again to be able to use it as gathering essentially. So wherever you wanted there to be gathering you would have to add flare/fullness!
So - One Has to cover a certain # if square inches over a body...but by using darts and gathers, pleats, etc - as long as the acreage is sufficient - the WAY one does it is by choice? Some of us DO have veritable acreage. :-D
Exactly! There is a certain amount of dart fullness needed, but where and how you control that fullness is up to you!
❤️👍
Ooh four hours ago! I’m a binge watcher so I tend to not watch for months and then watch everything in a few days. I hope that doesn’t screw up your analytics too much 😬
I am happy to be watched at all any time I assure you 😅❤ Thank you!
