Nice! I’ve been looking for this video! Thanks for posting and answering a lot of my questions on the TX. Is there a camp mode mode or my room mode on the TX550h+?
Charging a plug-in at Electrify America kind of defeats the purpose of a PHEV. They're set up for at-home Lvl 2 charging. Over an hour for 17 miles of range actually seems pretty brutal, imo. Seven out of ten for Lexus TX550h+, you're one tough grader. I can see that Lexus really keeps the charging process relatively opaque for whatever reason. A green light and total miles added is pretty meager info.
Actually it IS the purpose. Not everyone has a home first of all to charge at, some live at condos or apartments. But that still isn’t my point. Say you go shopping, grab food for say 1hr-2hrs, like I did here. And there was a LVL2 charger avlaliable. Why shouldn’t I charge if given the ability to…
@@Allcarnews Oh, I agree if they are there you might as well use them because they aren't going to do much charging for any BEV driver. And I don't think a PHEV is a choice I could recommend for anyone who can't charge it either at home, at work or both.
@@codechrist stop being poor and buy a home then, don't buy a lexus when you live in a fucking apartment lmao poor people don't know how to spend money wisely.
Not for me. Waiting 2.5/hrs. to go 30 miles???? Does not make sense. Unless I plug it in the house in the evening. It is not practical to pay .56/kwh and wait 2.5/hrs. for a charge that will take me 30 miles. Ludicrous. I have an LS460 V8 with a 4.6L, I get 25/mpg. on the freeway.

Unfortunately not

It is 7 seater ?
Yes
no its a 6 seater.
@@Allcarnews only the TX350 offers the 2nd row bench for 7. Both 500h and 550h+ have 2nd row captains because of the battery.

100%. PHEVs are MEANT to be charged at home. But a public network exists for when you are out shopping/resturant etc.
