no lie this is basically what every single week has consisted of since I got to Goodfellow! ! I have been at tech school for a little over 2 months now and have enjoyed it so far!! I’m sorry this vlog is basically just me talking to y’all all week but I just miss vlogging so much and I really needed to put a vid up, so thank y’all so much for watching!! 🤗
Also, I put together a GYM BASED workout program of exercises that I think will help get you in better shape for BMT. It is focused around building up overall strength but more specifically improving your run, push ups, and sit ups. I am looking for 5-10 people who would be interested/willing to try this program and update me on there progress! I remember watching your "My Experience at AF BMT" video before I left for basic in January... my MTI actually pulled up that video on his phone and said he likes watching RUclips videos to see what 'trainees' think lol :)

what is your job that you're training for? I think for my tech school i'll be going to Goodfellow but didn't know what all jobs are there ... Im super excited i leave for basic in a week and some days
How many months/ days after you get to tech school can you leave base on the weekend?
Can you use a laptop/ipad for notes during tech school? Also, is it like college in that you have to write papers and stuff, or only tests and quizzes on what you learn?

I’ve wanted to join for almost four years now but I’m anxious being away from home because I get homesick fast. And I get very anxious and I can be sensitive when they yell directly at me but I want to get out my comfort zone and make a big change
Go for it my son loved it and he’s building a nice life for himself. It’s part of growing up. You never know you could be stationed close to home. Find what the bases are in your area and the jobs there. You get plenty of leave. You can zoom call . You will make plenty of friends. Good luck .

How do you have a car in tech school?

Thank you so much :) and the teal rope I wear shows that I am a member of the SASH program (students against sexual harassment) and yes I most definitely plan on using my education benefits when I start college in the fall!!

What exactly is on the base? Like what store did you go to? Can you drive off base or do you just drive around the base?
The base has like a gym, bowling alley, an event center (pool tables, ping pong) a commissary/BX! I get all my food at the commissary but you are allowed to leave base after the first month so I go off base a lot!
What exactly is your job? The code? I typed in education & training and this is what popped up

Awesome vlog! I am going for army myself but I watch all branches because I think every branch is really interesting in their own ways :) I wanted to go AF originally but because of my stupid brain I couldnt even pass their practice test which was really embarrassing! I just started a channel of my own, still in the somewhat works, my camera quality Is terrible and I see you have a MUCH better camera than I do so I was a little jealous XD but hey awesome vlog! I didn't even realize it was close to 20 minutes because I was so into your vlog :)
how do you make your overnight oats???
I make mine like this:
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup greek yogurt
1 tbsp PB2
1/4 cup almond milk
1/2 banana
& like 1/2 tbsp coca powder (I just kinda throw it in there)
I put mine in a jar, mix it up and then leave it in the fridge and eat them throughout the week :)
You can drive in tech school?
Okay I need some help! My bestfriend will be going to goodfellow for fire protection. His first day there is May 7th. Will he be able to leave base that first weekend there or will he have to wait until he is ATP? If so, how long does that roughly take ?
So you can't leave base until you are ITP and you get ITP after being here for 1 month!! You would be able to come down here and come on base and see him during that first month but he wouldn't be able to leave base or stay with you or anything like that!

Hey Sam, unless you have already posted about It, could you possibly make a video about tips for dealing with BMT? Like I know they yell at you and I'm not the most tough person so I think it would be helpful to know. Also, I'm 16 and want to start training for BMT right now because I feel like it would be helpful so could you make a workout video? Thank you!

yes once you are in the second phase you are allowed to drive
Do you recommend the AF so far? I just took my ASVAB and got an 80 and I’d really like to join but half of my family is against it and have told me to wait.

it is a big decisions but it is entirely up to you! I have gained a lot of awesome experience from the AF so far :)
It’s your life not your parents. Unless they’re gonna pay for everything it’s your choice. I recommend joining military tbh I’m enlisting in the army lost 43 pounds to do so
Joining the AF is the best decision I have ever made! You will have so many amazing experiences and make the best friends you have ever had ❤️

Yes!! during tech school, you aren't allowed to do any other schooling but after training you can :)

Erin Priester how is fusion analyst. I had that on my 9 jobs for them to choose from. So I might get that but more likely something like cyber or ops intel or system ops intel

Im thinking of joining the airforce. I know a bunch of ppl that are in the airforce and it seems like its something i need in my life. I kept trying to find reasons not to join because i have two kids, i dont want to get stuck in the same routine everyday; i dont want blah blah blah. And then i realized that the air force actually spunds like its the answer to my problems. I do the same thing everyday either way. Lol. At least this way i can get a career rather than a shitty dead end job that i hate and cant get anywhere with. I just literally kniw nothing about the air force. Ive been watching video after video about it and still dont really know what its all about. Do u know of a websote or something I can look up that has more info and will give me kind of a play by play of what to expect? Thank u.
Sarah Stevens I went to goang.com it’s the Air National Guard website. I also watched a ton of RUclips videos of Air Force Jobs, basic training, tech school, etc to get more info. I decided to join because I don’t like to sit around and I get bored easily and wanted a new adventure. The thing I like about the guard is it’s part time so you can still spend time with your family and don’t necessarily have to move for your job. Also, I talked to a recruiter for about a year before I joined. They can really help you with questions you have about anything. Hope this helps!
After watching this I felt compelled to try a bunch of new Halo Top flavors! I really like lemon cake, s’mores, cookies n cream, candy bar, peanut butter cup, and strawberry. I’ve also tried chocolate covered banana but it tasted more like a banana popsicle, so if you like those you will probably like that one, and chocolate almond, and you could really taste the almonds. And it sorta tasted like butter pecan too..

I know in active duty the shortest contract is 4 years, but I have heard in the guard the shortest is 6 years. Is that true?
I signed a 6 year contract and I haven't heard of anyone in the guard signing a 4 year contract so I'm going to assume yes!
as far as I know reserves are all 6 year.
High Altitude Productions First enlistment in the guard is always 6 years. Reenlistmented may be done in 4 year increments.

Samantha Hill I'm active duty first term. I'm Fuels at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in NJ. I did NOT want to come here haha. I'm planning on palace chasing at my 2 year mark. I really miss home and my friends, so I want to transfer to guard. Other than missing home, the AF is pretty cool 😁

we don't have GI anymore except when the squadron gets messy, so this weekend, sadly we have GI on Sunday and even tho Im in different dorms I still have to go :(

Absolutely! Def the best at Goodfellow or even Keesler. But when you get to your assigned base, it’s so much easier to cook your own vegan meals over the DFAC. I felt there were less choices for meals outside of tech school DFACs.
I watched a video of yours and you said that you wanted medical tech. and that you opted out of it because there wasn't any open slots. Why did you decide to not wait for an open space for that job that you wanted?
I was still really interested int the job I have now and after thinking about it, it seemed like the better options for me and I could have been waiting for a very long time for a slot to open
