- Oh my gosh it has been a minute since I’ve posted a youtube video!! I MISSED VLOGGING SO MUCH! I have been at tech school for 1 month so I thought I would make a video to give y’all a little update about what my life is like here at Goodfellow!

Couple questions (:
1. How do you pack for tech school for people who go straight to tech school from BMT?
2. How are you able to meal prep? I thought three meals a day were required to be eaten in the cafeteria. Also where do you buy the food for meal prepping if you can’t leave base?
3. How are you getting your car to tech school? Do all tech schools allow people to bring their cars?

1: bring only like maybe two jeans and several versatile shirts worth of civilian clothes at most. if i were you, i’d rather just have money instead of actual things. you get issued some stuff and something aren’t. it’s better to just buy as you go.
2: you’re required to eat 3 meals a day in the cafeteria but as you phase up you are giving back privileges. you drop down to two meals, then just one. and you can meal prep then. there are on base grocery stores.
3: It depends on location She is from Texas and is in Texas. She can just have someone drive the 4.5 hours with her car or probably have it shipped to her for almost nothing. Me being from Georgia going to California. Shipping or driving a car isn’t an option. Just take an Uber like everyone else. Your phases don’t even allow you to drive personal vehicles for a long time anyway so it’s not worth it.

Thanks for the Video. I went through Goodfellow AFB in Feb of 1988. I went through the Imagery Analyst career field. It took me 6 months. Then I was stationed at Offutt AFB. I went to Osan AB in Korea, back to Offutt, The Gulf War, then off to Hickam AFB in HI. I enjoyed my job very much. I think this career field is one of the best in the AF if not the BEST. Aim Hi!
Hey I'm from Texas and am signing with the Airforce this Friday! Yay(: but anyway there's so much stuff to do here it really just depends on what you like. You said you like working out, so hiking is definitely a great thing cause the different terrain we have here. I would definitely recommend cave crawling or rock climbing, also there's like a million dance halls you could go to in whatever town with some great live bands all the time. If you haven't explored San Antonio after your basic there SOO much to do there. Some great sites though to explore or camp at would be Enchated rock, Jacobs well, a drive through safari(there's a few) and pedernales falls state park! Hope this helps you, Im from Houston so if have more questions about anything just ask! (:

Also how were you able to stay home for a few weeks after BMT. Did BMT change your mind set towards fitness/ get you to set a routine that you wouldn’t of had before BMT!
Hi I’m from Texas and I been to San Angelo the closest place to do stuff is in San Antonio which is the 3 1/2 hour drive. In San Antonio you have sea world, six flags, the Alamo, river walk, museums. If you want to travel a little further there is Houston but that may be out of your limits. I hope I helped.
Hello! I just recently enlisted into the air force and would like to ask a couple of questions,
1. after BMT (at bmt graduation) are your parents allowed to bring a small bag/suitcase of your belongings for tech school?
2. How long is Tech school?
3. Lastly.. How much free time do you have exactly?

All I can answer for you is that the length of Tech School varies depending on the AFSC you have.
YourFavoriteBlonde I just got out of BMT a week and a half ago so hopefully I can answer your questions.
after bmt, your parents can't really bring stuff. All you're allowed to have is one civilian luggage bag/dufflebag plus anything they issued you. If you can fit it, they can bring it. Chances are however, you won't have much room.
Second, tech school depends on your AFSC. Also, if you're going to Goodfellow, your tech school can be longer than expected depending on how long it takes to get your security clearance.
Third, for me at least, I have a good amount of free time. My curfew (Since I'm still in the first phase) is 2200 but usually you get out of classes around 1700 ish (sometimes earlier depending on what you're doing).
A little updated reply. Just getting out of bmt had my coin ceremony today. The suitcase thing depends on your squadron commander. My tech school for Fusion Analyst is around 3 months so that’s pretty long compared to others.

I have those same exact leggings and gurllll I love them lol gymshark has taken all of my money like I have four or five pairs of the flex and then like two pairs of other ones and hoodies 😅

I am interested in Geospatial Intelligence, i know you can't talk much about it but i was wondering if it's really hard learning about it in tech school though?
Empty water bottles in fridges is definitely a norm in tech school. My prior MTL’s were always befuddled by this whenever they did room inspections 😂😂😂
hey girl! huge fan of your videos! you actually pushed me ti consider going into the reserves. i'm joining soon!! i really need some intel on the food in the chow hall. i am a clean eater which means i prefer not to eat gluten or bad carbs, will that be a huge problem in BMT?
HAHA this is probably the most creative comment I have ever heard. props to you I legit laughed out loud. But I am SO glad! & It is somewhat disappointing the food choices they have because majority of the choices are unhealthy. they do have healthier options but they aren't always the best. When you get to tech school there is a lot more variety of foods you can eat, again more unhealthy food then healthy food but there is a better variety! Good luck :)

Question.. if you are going to tech school straight from BMT do you just not bring anything from home there? I know you were home before but for people not in the guard or reserves!

pack a box before you leave and tell parents to mail it to you. i wouldn’t recommend having your parents bring it to you at graduation bc i’ve seen more youtuber, redditors, and websites be against having it brought to you than i have seen people be for it.
I heard you can pack a luggage before basic for your family to give to you at graduation. Is that okay? Cause I’m not sure how I’m gonna get my stuff that I want with me after bmt.

Stephanie Amber the gyms, from what I seen aren't usually super busy. There's a good bit of people but not too many. Also, the DFAC here is super nice but, from what I know, there isn't anywhere you can cook your own food.

oh wow ive been occasionally watching your videos for a while now. didn’t realize your job is geospatial intelligence. my recruiter just gave me that job yesterday and I’ll probably be signing the contract for it next week

You should do a get ready with me, with your uniform and all. I enlisted last month and leave for BMT in a couple months (hopefully). What camera do you use to film? What did you have to pack for tech school?
that is a good idea :) and I use the Sony a5100!! I packed a lot for tech school, I brought all my Air Force uniforms and then I brought my computer, a speaker, my cameras, and lots of civilian clothes :)
I know that this video is a couple weeks old, but the Dallas museum of art is free and amazing! Also there is a Science Museum in Dallas that is interactive and a very cool experience. Highly recommend 🙂

Question: Do you pack your things for AIT (clothes, shoes, etc.) before basic and bring it in your bag or did your family bring things for you? If you even brought extra clothes & things at all.
I actually went home between BMT and tech school so I packed all my stuff when I was home but I recommend packing everything you will want before hand and then have your family bring it to you!

Hey Sam! I am interested in joining the Air Force and am exploring jobs in the intelligence field. Did you have to wait awhile before BMT for an opening in the job you have now or was there an immediate need for geospatial intel?
Usually active duty will have faster ship dates than reserves or guard. But I know one guy that is going with geospatial intel he’s really smart and that’s a good job. Good fellow AFB is where you will go for tech school

1. What is PT like during BMT and now at Tech school?
2. How is the PT test administered? (order of events, how its graded?)
3. What is a specific workout you would recommend to do before heading off to BMT to be a little more prepared?

Pt during bmt varies, they have different workout cards based on what type of day it is. Usually on cardio days we do a lot of stuff just over and over like jumping jacks and stuff. Strength days are pretty easy because all you do is 30 push-up 30 sit-up and then repeat that 1 more time. And then you do a couple additional exercises and thats it. Run days we get 24 minutes to run as fast as we can around the track.
Pt test is just you and a wingman holding each other’s feet and counting for each other’s feet. But they make sure you did the right amount on the last pt test. They do an initial assessment in the 1 WOT and then another progress check in the 3 WOT and the final in the 5 WOT. for the run they have you run around a red track for 6 laps 1mile 1/2 and you have to do it under 12:30 for makes 25 and under. And push-ups reqs are 33 and 42 for situps
1.)I’m a sophomore in school and I was wanting to take JROTC but they don’t have it at my school could I take the Academic part online?
2.)Was the ASVAB hard and should I study for it or is it based of off knowledge ?
3.)When you go to BMT do you get tased or is that only military officer training?
4.) Did you work out a couple weeks ahead before going to basic ?
5.)And can you post a preparing fitness routine you should do before going to basics?
Im not sure how ROTC works but you will have to go to tech school for you career, you can't do it online! And I studied for the ASVAB and I felt it was very helpful :) And you only get tased if you are security forces!! And I was pretty active before heading to basic, I am working on putting some workouts together for y'all :)

so is everything you will need be in walking distance? like stores? what if you don't drive? would that be harder to get around or do they have their own transportation you can use ?
yes! The BX and the gym and everything was in walking distance from our dorms. There was taxis that could come on base to pick you up and take you into town if you wanted to do that and didn't have a car! You could also take uber you just would have to walk to the front gate and leave form there :)

How come you can’t leave from tech school? (Like to go to a restaurant or something on weekends) also I’m a vegetarian and was curious if that’s still possible at bmt?
the first month I couldn't leave, but now I am free to go out after the duty day! and yes my roommate is a vegetarian :)
What was your recruiter like? Mine tells me nothing and so sick of being left in the dark. I've been interested for over a year haven't been to MEPS and he keeps pushing the date back
recruiters can be difficult you just really really have to stay on them :(

Yes!! You can have your family bring you stuff but I would not recommend having them bring you electronics because you can't have that stuff at arimens week

For people coming from DLI who already have ATP, can they go off base from day 1? Do you march on base? Do you need a wingman?
I am PRETTY positive y'all are still ATP when you get here so yes you can leave base, you don't have to march, and you don't need a wingman :)

Honestly, all you need is money and running shoes if you prefer a certain pair, and maybe one pair of clothes. That's about it. They issue you absolutely everything you need.

Samantha Hill unfortunately I was stuck in BTP phase for 2 months so I spent a lot of my time at the gym and or at the bx it wasn’t very exciting lol. A lot of my friends would go off base though on the weekends but I was barely hitting the next phase by the time I graduated. Hope tech school is going good so far :)
