Just live cheaply and eat at the dfac don’t spend money in bmt on ... swords.... or shields ... don’t know why that has to be said, but save your money through all tech school. Don’t go buy TVs and cars or eat out a lot. Debt is getting bad, people get a little money and then go wild. We don’t make a whole lot so for the however long you’re in bmt + tech school save your money so you always have that to fall back on.
YES EXACTLY!!!!! it blows my mind how people get to tech school and buy cars after getting a nice pay check for a few months. this is such great advice, SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
Thanks for clearing up exactly what they already hand out and what’s optional to bring. All the other videos just mention a bag full of stuff will be given out to everyone. This helped so much

drew downn I’m going into my sophomore year! So yes but I’ll still be home long enough to get a year done of clinicals and nursing school 😊
I wish I could just go nowwwww and get basic done and over with so I can just be enlisted already but weight loss can only move so fast whilst keeping it healthy 🙄 but I am always looking forward to it

vid suggestion: talking more about the guard, ive been in for almost 3 years and i feel like a lot of people are confused and don’t know about guard/reserve duties haha hope that made sense.

how much free time do you get? how often are you allowed to go to the store on base there? did you bring your phone with you, and then they just locked it up with your backpack? if you were allowed to bring your phone is that what you made your phone calls on, and did you bring your charger?
You don't really get a lot of free time and I think we were allowed time to go to the store about once a week! And yes definitely bring your cell phone and charger because that is what you make your phone calls on!
Samantha Hill how often were you allowed to make phone calls? i’ve heard your given 3, but some flights are given more? What would you say the average number of phone calls you can make in bmt are? and you’re allowed to charge your phone during phone call time??
I have heard people say the G-Shock watch is great for basic...is there a color requirement for the watch b/c I was thinking of getting the white watch with rose gold face or the white with a charcoal face?
It has to be solid black and plain, NO color sry girl.

You said they’ll issue you shoes whether you have some already or not
But a different person said you can choose, also the stamps, you mentioned that they’ll give them to you while another person said people were asking people for stamps because they didn’t bring any

Great video with great info! One question though, when you say have family bring your bag at graduation does that mean you’ll be able to store it until you leave for tech? I’d much rather do that then pay to ship it.
This might be a dumb question but I have an Apple Watch and was wondering if I could bring that to BMT? Or if I should just get a basic watch?
Nope you cannot bring it to BMT! I talked about that in the video and I would just recommend getting a regular basic watch

If I pack a suitcase full of stuff (clothes, laptop, etc..) will my parents be able to bring it to my graduation so I can take it to tech school? Or should I just leave everything at home? I figure I'm going to want a laptop for tech school but I also hear that they aren't allowed to bring electronics to your graduation. Should I just go to tech school with nothing except for what I came to basic with?

how does laundry work? I heard in another video that they just throw clean laundry in a pile and you go around picking up what’s yours ? Would items get mixed up or maybe missing lol if they wash the clothes you bring like the nike sports bras since i’m sure many girls would bring those.
that is how we did it! all of your clothes are marked so we know whos is whos and then you put undergarments like bras and underwear in a mesh bag that was marked!

Can you make a video on how you do your hair? Also, would you be able to explain your job and how you like it? Were there other jobs that sparked your interests or that you now find interesting?
I am going to be making a get ready with me next week :) I can't talk much about my job sadly but I do really enjoy it!! The other job I was interested in was med tech and I think that being a photojournalist would be very cool!!
also in tech school after your month and you’re able to leave base and stuff. how far can you go on the weekends? I live in san diego and i’ll be in texas for tech school, would i be allowed to visit home for the weekend?
I know for long weekends you are able to fly home but Im not exactly sure if you would be able to go that far just on a regular weekend :(

Ik they inspect your drawer, do u advise we buy 2 razors one to use and one for display so we don't get yelled at over an inspection?
I just used 1 razor but i know some people has 2. it really just depends how often you shave 😂
Q: so you Can being your bag with your things, but they still issue you a backpack with things. How do you consolidate and what happens to the extras?
Also: People with sensitive skin tend to have the nicest. Lol I’m going to start buying products for sensitive skin 😒 I’ve been on the struggle bus for too damn long.

So my parents won’t be able to come to my graduation... going straight to tech after I was wondering can I pack my laptop in my bag and they can lock it up? I just don’t want to be unprepared since I won’t have anyone coming to Bring me anything...

I ship out the 17th, Are you allow to bring clear containers of your own hair products? Some other recruits are saying they will get thrown out
I have also heard they will get thrown out just because it doesn't have a label so I would recommend finding travel size stuff just to be safe!

For the compression shorts, is there a specific length that they have to be? I played volleyball so my compression shorts are about 3-4" would they be allowed?
Yes, mine were all from playing volleyball as well and they were fine :)

You will keep a lot of your documents in your drawer locked up!!

yes you just bring it back to the dorm on that Sunday and then you bring it with you to airmens week on Monday :)

honestly, I am not sure if you are allowed to have a straightener at BMT (no one in my flight did) sorry I couldn't be more helpful :(

I packed WAYYYYYY to many civilian clothes lol. Im the best at overpacking so honestly just bring whatever clothes you want tech school because you can have whatever!

Nope! As long as your bun doesn't exceed the width of you head then you are good!

I personally liked having a backpack just because it was easier to carry when first arriving! they issue you a backpack that you will use during your time there tho :)

Hey I would like to see a possible video on the different types of jobs in the Air Force. I’m interested in the IT field or some type of Intelligence job! I was wondering if you could maybe find out and describe what jobs there are in my desired field. I’m having trouble finding info.

As far as I know in BMT no.
If you even talk to the other gender in BMT you get pushed back a week.

Yes there is max and min weight requirements depending on your height!

ciera lovely if you’re under you’d have to gain weight. My recruiter says she likes for people to be either 5 over the minimum or 5 under the max because MEPS will disqualify you. I’m currently in the process of losing weight since my max was 160
