I roasted the sweet potatoes and let them cool. I doubled your recipe. I didn't have madjool dates, just regular small pitted dried dates in the bag, so I used about 18 of them softened with boiled water. I used the date water when the batter was getting too thick for the pulse blender. For the frosting, I used peanut butter, which made it-a bit salty so I added monk fruit sweetener and some maple syrup. Next time I will use salt free peanut butter or almond butter if on sale. THEY ARE DELICIOUS! Even my husband likes them. Although the coconut does come through a but, which I like though he's eh about it., he finished them lol All in all A GREAT RECIPE! THANK YOU ELLA 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Lisa from Sydney
Ella, I made these tonight and they turned out delicious!! My friends absolutely loved them, and the best part was we didn't feel sick after eating them. Thank you so much for sharing, you are changing lives
This is crap no sugar flour egg Dairy oil what is healthy brownie recipe I hate your videos they are vegan crap good no uploads form now on you are the worst RUclipsr ever
The recipe on her website isn't identical to the one in the video, so I transcribed it for myself: 500 grams sweet potatoes steamed 100 grams oats 100 grams almond flour 6 tablespoons raw cacao powder 12 Medjool dates pitted 2 tablespoons coconut oil 6 tablespoons maple syrup pinch of salt Preheat oven to (180 degrees C) 356 degrees F In a food processor, put in the 500 g softed sweet potatoes and combine with the12 pitted dates. Add all the rest of the ingredients to the food processor. Process until very smooth. Use parchment paper or coconut oil for pan and smooth the batter into the pan. Put it in the oven. Icing: Make while the brownies cool Use a medium sized or small pan. 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons almond butter 1 tablespoon maple syrup Melt down the ingredients and put pan in the fridge for a couple of minutes so it solidifies a bit and isn't as runny. Take brownies out of the tray. Then pour the somewhat cooled sauce from the pan on top of the brownies and smooth over. Let this sit for a little bit so the icing completely sets and then slice it into servings.
Very high because dates are concentrated in carbs while the almond are high in fats. They’re healthier than normal brownies though so I’d just make these but without the icing.
Hi Ella I made these two weeks ago I wasn't too sure when first out of the oven but once iced and cut up they were delicious , my husband was amazed that they were sweet potato great success . Can't wait to come to your new shop in London will be there end of November . Xx
I just tried this recipe!!!! just swope maple for honey, almond butter with peanut butter cause I didn't have them ! and added more sweetener to the ganache but came absolutely DELICIOUS my mum loved it 🙈 thanks for all of these great recipes ❤
I made these modified slightly with raisins, walnuts, and tahini instead of dates, almonds, and almond butter and they turned out delicious! My friends loved them! I stored them in the fridge and they turned into a more fudge-like consistency. So delish! I will make it again to take to holiday parties. Thanks Ella~!
I used a little less than a cup of raisins. You can use more or less depending on how 'raisin-y' you want it. Just soak them in water for a few minutes to make them soft. Funny, the last batch I only had a half cup of raisins and needed something else gewy and sweet to make up for the lack so I added a half ripe banana and it turned out great also.
This is my most favorite Brownies. Thanks Ella. I also followed other's suggestion of adding Chia seed, gave a crunchy texture to it. Also add Coffee powder and accidentally drop 2 TBsp butter in it. Such a Divine experience. Won't go back to normal Brownies again!
Made these today and they were a complete success unlike the first version... especially liked the icing. All the guys in the household liked them too, served with raspberries and coconut yoghurt or soya ice-cream and didn't know the difference. Thanks a lot. Will be making these again as so easy.
My Nan made these and I loved them! I kept going back for more and the fact that they're healthy made me feel really good about eating a lot of them lol
I baked this today. Never thought that this recipe could turn out so amazing! The brownie melted gently and perfectly in your mouth 🍫😍 Love your recipe Ella ❤ Thank you 💕
Love the video not only recepie but video itself. Nice and short and straight to the point. Most of cooking videos are so long and has unnecessary talking. Will definitely subscribe. Gratitude for sharing 🙏
@@noreen9321, agreed. The moment I saw these comments I thought she has decided to steam the sweet potatoes for a reason! Of course, there is nothing wrong with trying other ways of making it too. I love trying Ella's recipes and then changing them a bit, so I can make them a bit my own :)
Man those look delicious and I would love to have a dozen right now in front of me so I could devour them. But most of the time I don't have enough time to do all that cooking so it's easier to use a box of brownies and go on with it. Thank you for your video and God Bless you and your family have a great day
So I made these tonight and have to say I am super impressed! I tried without the icing and accidentally used porridge oats instead of ground oats, but they still turned out yummy :) Would definitely recommend!
Wonderful. I've been learning to make a lot of these healh treats lately - cheesecake, pumpkin pie, banana cream pie, and now brownies. Just need a raw cookie recipe, and I'm set.
Was looking for a healthier brownie recipe. This was delicious. . .my entire family loved it. I added walnuts and chocolate chips to it. Was really good. Thanks for this great recipe!
These are so delicious! Very filling. I used 3 parts coconut nectar, and 3 parts maple syrup for the sweetener, as well as twelve soaked sayer dates and they turned out scrump-diddy-dumptious!
this is great but ill need to find a replacement for the oil as it has been shown to stiffen arteries and affect heart health. I made a chocolate frosting from sweet potatoes, cacao powder, and maple syrup last week, it was absolutely delectable so I think I will have to use that to top your brownies!! love your brownie recipe!
I just made a coconut and agave free version for my boyfriends birthday + I added about 2 cups of water + replaced the agave nectar with erythritol (which lowers the calorie count and is better for the teeth, it also not harmful like the concentrated sugar) + I cooked the sweet potatoes without cutting them and afterwards peeled the skin. This saves a lot of the taste For the sauce + I melted 70% dark chocolate with some peanut butter (fits very well to the sweet potatoe taste) Great thing to add: next time I will freeze up some bananas and then blend them. This will make fantastic ice cream that is perfect in addition to the chocolate peanutbutter flavor - YUM!
Going to try making it today for my husbands 50th birthday. I only have yellow sweet potatoes to use but I'm sure they will be fine and I'll also be using ground almond flour.
I am a huge brownies fan. I started baking them regularly as a 9 year old and my love for them has been growing stronger ever since. Over the last few years I have been trying out a lot of strange brownie combinations, but never come across sweet potato brownies! This looks amazing! My next bake will be precisely this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing this spectacular culinary gem with us, Ella 😊
I modified the recipe a bit :) 1. Instead of steam -> roast sweet potatos 2. Added shot of weak espresso (also this helps in blending) 3. Added spices: tonka bean, nutmeg, cinnamon (1/3 tea spoon each spice) 4. Added melted chocolate inside the cake
Made these twice now, absolutely delicious made with tahini instead of almond butter and used normal chopped dates. Made a double size batch and storing in fridge and the are tasting better, if possible, with every one I take out of the fridge. 😋
Lovely recipe, such a healthy, easy snack any one can't imagine. Ella- I've got all your books on my shelf and they're amazing. I love all your recipes for its simplicity. This sweet potato brownies are really "yum yum". Can you upload some videos for office going packed meals. I would be waiting to watch one. Thanks 😊
I am not vegan, but I love her recipes. I wasn’t convinced when she sad that it was good, but I am pregnant when wanted to eat soooo bad. It is delicious!!! I added one egg though
Dear Ella, Many thanks for sharing such delicious receipts. I would like to ask if its possible to change the almond flour to any other such as spelt or chickpea.
Just been baking these (they smell epic) and have put them in the oven and realised you didn't mention how long to cook them for, how long should I bake them for? Somebody please reply before they burn? :D

I made the brownies a week ago with my best friend and they were soooo goooood! Gonna make them for my dads birthday tomorrow

Neea 2605 do you know how much cals one is roughly?
Very high because dates are concentrated in carbs while the almond are high in fats. They’re healthier than normal brownies though so I’d just make these but without the icing.
Btw if you’re not vegan, you can mess around with egg yolks. That really helps make brownies fudgy, while the whites will make them more cakey.
How long in the oven

made this yesterday, used rye flour, cinnamon, tablespoon of maca powder, hemp and flax seeds, texture 10/10... and flavour😍😍
Hi Laura, Just wanted to know did the flax seeds make the brownie more not so dense like, perhaps a cake sort of texture? Thanks heaps
Laura Mn what did you use for the liquid the make the mixture?
I would actually roast the sweet potatoes, they'll develop a richer sweeter flavor
i was thinking of doing that too! i love roasted sweet potato :)
Tbh I wouldn't, since I want it to taste like a brownie and not a sweet potato. (even though I like them) Butt who knows, maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, so true. And probably would not need as many dates.
Same, boiled or steamed are less sweet
