When I am trying to edit an older document and need to make it two columns, I don’t have the columns option under layout. Even if I copy and paste into a new document, the option is not there. How can I add a column in this situation? Thanks for your videos!
Hello, Kim. Thank you for watching! First, I would try to "save as" the document as a .docx (under a new file name) rather than copying and pasting into a new document. The process of turning the text from a .doc to .docx might return your column function. If that doesn't work, you could manually create columns with text boxes or a two-cell table. I wish you all the best with your project!
All the steps shown here are listed with images on my website at erinwrightwriting.com/how-to-use-microsoft-word/. Thank you for watching!
