    Darth Vader murdered the Red Royal Guards for their failure to protect their emperor, however there is far more to this plot that only Palpatine is aware of, and a massive test of Vader's loyalty.

      Its because Plagueis died for trusting his apprentice, so why wouldn't Sidious be paranoid about indoctrinating his apprentice ?

  • @Supreme0757

    One would think being apprenticed to Sidious would be a true baptism in the dark side. Learning the most malicious force techniques, pushing the limits of Sith experiments, exploring the vast knowledge of the ancient Sith, training and molding Vader but it feels like his allegiance to Sidious has only been a montage of Vader being manipulated, disrespect, and toyed with. Had he been apprenticed under Darth Bane that would have been a true apprenticeship as he would serve to push and polish you and your abilities every waking day until you’re ready to challenge him but…this? I mean hell if you read the book of Darth plageuis it’s literally Sidious being taught and perfected under a Sith curriculum as well as the skill of deception and everything you can imagine a Sith learning. Has Vader even learned anything under Sidious? It feels he’s merely augmented what he already knew from the Jedi but twisted it to a more violent way of combat . Example: force choke. Feels like Vader was robbed in every aspect

      You guys need to realize that Sidious did want to train Vader properly as his apprentice, but Vader's utility went down the shitter when he got mutilated and burned extra crispy. He wasn't at full power and basically proved himself not good enough for Sidious' full teachings, so Sidious treated him thus

    • @kitiea9380

      @@mikhailthegreatestdragon3627 But Sidious really wrongfully saw Vader as a weak and useless Sith. Vader could have gotten back a considerable portion of his potential should his master have taught him Sith Alchemy. But he didn't. Sidious instead believed he was the one true Sith; the founder of the "Rule of One"; the Sith'ari. He just *wanted* Vader to be his tool. He would have done the same thing to Luke or any other Force user whose potential was acceptable to him.

    I think ultimately it might be because vader blames his limitations and suffering on Obi-Wan and not Palpatine. Despite being a Sith Lord Palpatine still served as a father figure to Anakin/Vader and was not directly involved in his suffering. It could possibly be also a narcisstic abuse type relationship where Vader thinks if he proves himself worthy then Palpatine will teach him to be a better and more powerful sith lord. Vader is simply not confident enough he could hold a candle to his master's wisdom as there is something like a 40 year age gap between them. Palpatine is stringing Vader along with little bread crumbs while planning to replace him and Vader is not confident that anyone else can offer him the same thing as Palpatine until his son comes along.

    It still annoys me they couldn't figure out how to incorporate that one deleted scene in Return of the Jedi where the Royal Guards actually threaten Vader. We never see them fight but if you ever needed to know how fanatically devoted they were to serving the Emperor, there it was but alas, it ended up on the cutting room floor. Instead they just appeared like window dressing in the film.

    Sideous testing Vader's loyalty even in so brutal a fashion makes a good deal of sense, as if this is the legends continuity then the events here likely take place in the intermittent period between the force unleashed, and the force unleashed 2 so his trips to kamino after the death of starkiller would raise a good deal of concern for his loyalty and what better way to ascertain said loyalty by putting him to the fire.

    I think there is something to be said why vader never learned force lightning. I mean....he vowed loyalty to learn the "secret" to stopping death to save Padme. But when that reason was gone, why did he continue to be loyal? What was the incentive to stay? Learning that power was useless now that Padme was gone.
    So what did Vader learn from Sidous?

    • @sharkythe1st1
      @sharkythe1st1 11 месяцев назад +7

      He never learned Force lightning because his suit was extra conductive against electricity. This was a deliberate flaw Palpatine put on Vader's suit.

    • @everythingsalright1121

      Vader hated himself for what he had become but also hated everyone else/fate for having lead him down that path. He basically only lived to take out his anger on other people and as a form of self punishment. For him suicide wouldve been the easy way out but he hated himself so much for allowing himself to be tricked by palpatine and killing padme he wanted himself to suffer by continuing to live. Its a feedback loop/sunk cost fallacy. Hes done such evil things and has been doing evil things for so long he doesnt see any redemption or hope of making up for his deeds and reasons "may as well keep going". He never had a backup plan or this in mind. Its not a rational way of thinking but vader was in such a negative state he simply had no reason to deviate from that negativity, as padme is dead and he cared about her more than anything to the point of being his only reason to live (at least until luke comes along)

    If a truly superior being has to sacrifice a few inferiors , so be it .
    Lesser beings must strive much harder to be allowed in the presence of one such the Emperor , they should be honored to give their lives to assure that their Emperor is surrounded by only the best ( plus it makes them work harder for less compensation. ) As it should be .
    After all , the Emperor shouldn't be bothered by commoners ..........

    Doesn't sound like something Sideous WOULD do.. unless it's less a trick an they actually screwed up big time an such a particular group in doing so punished them by leaving them at Vader's mercy.
    Sideous isn't really known for wasting resources an even people are known to him as one.
    Even if Sideous did something like that ON PURPOSE. WHAT was his plan had neither the guards nor Vader senses the threat an reacted appropriately in time??? Seems like a waste an bad risk just to test Vader. An off a handful of underlings an a random force cult that he decided he, apparently, didn't like

    • @dungeonguy88

      Nah, Darth Sidious was constantly wasting resources. The entire Empire was a monument to self-indulgent waste and inefficiency.

    • @blackc1479
      @blackc1479 11 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed its a really goldberg-esque way to test loyalty, though I guess anything simpler would be kinda obvious.
      He had zero problem wasting resources, but one would hope that the guard "cost" enough that he wouldn't toss them away like a stormie.
      If I guessed, I'd say he knew about the cult, and didn't care. Until for some reason he decided they could become a serious threat. Maybe someone with real but untapped power took over the group. He was still pulling strings, but they looked like they could become dangerous. So he "gave" them their messiah myth, and pointed Vader at them, both to eliminate them, and test Vader as a bonus. I guess the guards were either the bottom 10% of the roster, or were just unlucky.
      (Though personally I would have killed the ones that didn't kneel. The kneelers were the REAL zealots who would rather die than fail, which they didnt)

    • @robertagu5533

      @@blackc1479 yeah that was my thoughts too. OR make them think they was gonna be killed with the STERN AN EXCEPTIONALLY SERIOUS Sith flavored warning "failed once already, should execute for THAT. Fail again an it's game over" kinda thing if was up to me as Vader. Overall seems like a very Sideous thing too now think of it. Though they couldn't have been all THAT powerful if Vader basically alone could and did easily wipe out all but one or 2 of them.. so if your theory has any truth my guess is said one was the one Palpatine worried about that slated that cult for "remove these ones" on Palp's daily agenda that day. Makes me wonder if was Palp's idea to have himself almost offed, which given Sith nature an his own mind an thoughts I doubt or something closer to these people are a threat cuz they're clearly planning something an when Vader saved him sensing WHAT it was an best to handle it Sideous helped formulate the end of said plan an confirmed his suspicions of the danger to himself an his empire when they managed to nearly blast him into Sith shards.

      @robertagu5533 sideous set up the whole thing, he was the one that kept Vader from sensing it earlier. And I'd also guess he had a force finger on some kind of disarm for the bomb in case Vader didn't catch it.

      Some may, but yeah, he was powerful. Unfortunately he never got to reach his potential either as a sith or a jedi.
      His jedi time was sabotaged both by the orders inflexibility and nearsightedness and by palps constant meddling.
      Then when he turned, palps never really took him into the more advanced and subtle side of things. He didn't want him to advance beyond heavy dark side powerups, or be anything that could become a threat.
      If qui gon had lived to teach him or anakin lived in the time of bane, it would have been a very different story. (Though I am still out on who I would pick in a bane/Vader duel, their personalities have too much in common. I guarantee Vader would be way more formidable if he had been banes apprentice)

    When said why did Vader get to kill the Royal Guard, my first answer was, probably because the Emperor was still miffed that Gary the Stormtrooper didn't hold the elevator for him on the Death Star and the Emperor had to ride the escalator for god knows how long that when the order was given to kill Gary he was no where to be and in classic Papa Palpatine fashion he said, "well you're freakin useless and I need a sacrifice to the gods to get my luggage back. I get so irritated by the "Palpatine purposely made Vader's suit vunerable to force lighting so he wouldn't rise up..BS".
    1.First off, do you know what is vunerable to Sidious's force lightning? EVERYTHING. He could destroy worlds, planets ect.he was insanely powerful with it.
    2. Vader has been hit by force lighting before, after ROTS and in the Vader comic series and....gasp....didn't die. In fact he was completely fine. Also, Vader's suit has withstood practically everything you can imagine..lava...lightning...space...oceans...boulders...name it and it has happened to him.
    3. Palpatine is just on another level compared to Vader. He literally can just flick his wrist, lift Vader in the air, force choke him and crush all his limbs (Vader comic series), he also has shown to be the superior duelist. Don't forget the Kyber chrystal scene where Palps is basking in the rays, completely unfazed and Vader is screaming from the pain.
    4. Also, it wasn't until Vader saw Palpatine standing next to the kyber chrystal that he realized he could never overthrow him.....NOT after everything Palpatine had done to him prior (Force lightning, choke, crushed his limbs)....he was still willing to and tried to fight Palpatine up until that point then it just became clear that Palpatine was just something else entirely.

    He has nothing else. No person, droid, home, friend. Not even work acquaintances.
    All he has is hate and
    vengeance.
    Darth sidous provides him with both
    As for sid himself, a true apprentice needs ambition to usurp the master.

      @jesse_cole 11 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, that's every fanboy's favorite explanation, but it doesn't make sense on any level. Vader still had Obi Wan, who tried several times to "save" Vader before finally coming to believe that Anakin was really gone. Vader easily could have turned to Obi Wan for help, then they could have challenged the emperor.
      The problem with the "Vader had nothing else" explanation is that it was retconned into the universe after the fact. The original films had a certain internal logic to them that resonated with fans and spawned an icon craze, and then a bunch of fans (and lucas himself) started expanding the lore unnecessarily like a bunch of anime geeks until it definitively made no sense anymore. The fans just like that "explanation" because it makes Vader seem more "dark and brooding," but it's a weak addition to the canon.

    I'm confused why Vader's suit is still susceptible to lightning? After Vader killed Jedi Master Kirak Infila, he wreck ed his suit and Emperor let Vader customize his suot as he saw fit, so wpuldnt you want make it so lightning ⚡ couldnt affect it🤔

    Isn't it kind of dumb to murder the ones that kneeled and acknowledged their failure? If anything the ones that didn't kneel were the ones less loyal lol

      Nah, you never know who's behind a plot. Best to kill everyone in the room. Give em up to the almighty.

    It took me awhile to see your breakdown of Mace not wanting Anakin on the counsel but I found it. The quote you used was: “For Anakin, there is nothing more important than friendship. He is the most loyal man I have ever met. Loyal beyond reason in fact. Despite all I have tried to teach him about sacrifices that are at the heart of being a Jedi, he will never, I think, truly understand them.” It’s the same with Sith, the Sith sacrifice all for the sake of power. And deep down within Vader, there was still Anakin with his morals. And he would never sacrifice or abandon someone. He was never and would never be, a true Sith or a true Jedi. He was something in between, a balance between the two. That is why he didn’t try to kill Palpatine. Until he found something that he valued over the loyalty of friendship, his loyalty to his family

    Man they make Vader looks like a total chump. I’m fine with just living in the past of the original trilogy.

      This is a Legends story. They handle him differently in the modern canon. He's much more of a threatening presence there (yeah, I'm surprised too).

    it pleases this mind to know that somewhere in the multiverse or in some timeline (if the theory holds true) the emperor is somewhere out there depicted as femboy. and not as what he is here.
    ...
    one should make this an actual thing i say...
