my dad drove and dispatched for randy's sanitation for most of my childhood, cool to see an almost 1 hour video of the trucks he worked with and dispatched for for all those years
Wow so by far... the best setup is the truck carrying the modified bin in front of him... 3:50 The driver has a perfect view of what he's doing, i'm guessing the truck can also be used to pick up large bins, the mechanism only has to lift the small containers a few feet instead of 12+ feet over the truck, when the front bin is full it gets dumped in the back idiot proof, these large "commercial" bin trucks have the biggest capacity as well as the best compactors...
who ever thought there was garbage truck channels like this ?! it's actually really interesting .The speed of these trucks and the mechanical arms is cool
and whyyy am I watching this I wonder. quarantine and insomnia has got me.. I just watched a garbage truck eating a couch before this and I don't know why🤔
Great video. Gonna miss Randy's as with other family companies being bought by multinational corporations. At least Tennis Sanitation is still surviving though.
i like how you guys have seperate companies and seperate bins all in one jam-packed state, i love it xD, love from uk❤❤(look at 2:26 for an example xD)
I'd like to see what cities the trucks work in. I see a lot of 612 numbers listed on the sides, but in sure many trucks work the suburbs and other areas.
interesting how tennis also took a WM reycleable bin. I have been told that regular refuse will also use glass recycleable to layer the regular refuse for better aeration .
Magnificent work, this video was entertaining in every aspect and I didn‘t get bored at least ones, every truck was entertaining in it‘s on way, from the Heil 7000s, to the Pac Techs and all the rear loaders. I can‘t really say I have one favourite cause every truck was cool, but I‘ll give you some of my favs. Loved that full orange Tennis Heil at the beginning , aside from it looking dope, these CCC crew cabs are hard to find and look very cool, do you know the reason behind why Tennis got a CCC crew cab when there is no need for it. I‘m amazed how many PacTechs are around, seems like yesterday was when the first ones where built and now a dozen company have them. The WM PacTechs where originally GarbageMan trucks though right, would be cool though if WM would decide to buy something else than ZR and support a local Minnesota company, but I don’t think that is gonna happen lol. Didn‘t know Sunshine Sanitation and Hometown owned PacTechs so I was pretty surprised when seeing them, apart from this being the first time I actually heard of both companies. I noticed the Randy New Way at 3:16 picking up a Vintage can, was that another company they bought out? Another fav has to be the Highland Rotopac, I‘m a big fan of the screw system to compact trash, something rarely seen on the American continent, I only know of the Wayne Gruncher and Ginove Rotopac, unless you count the Krupp truck DSNY owned in the 1920s but that was just one unit and Krupp didn‘t sell them in North America, Haller has probably been the biggest utilizer of the screw system over the year’s, both on rear and side loaders. Aside from the Rotopacs rare compaction system, I think the body fits the Highland paint scheme really good, especially how they put their slogan on the side wall of the hopper. Another company included in the video where I like their paint scheme is Eureka, their signage is so minimalistic but it really fits the MA, I do wonder why they opted for these in the alleys instead of a traditional rear loader. That SWS Freightliner had a good sound to it, I actually forgot SWS had rear loaders, for some time just thought they just had a fleet of Labrie MSL. The red New Way at 7:56 is another favourite of me, love these auto tippers, gives me that euro vibe, especially with the carts. Like I said above, I hadn‘t heard of Sunshine before but cool to see another Pac Tech, it looks really good in the yellow paint scheme. That Tennis Volvo Heil at 9:07 had a great sound to it too and these Heil 7000 are just entertaining, smooth action with these arms. Good to see a Randy Bridgeport in the compilation too, they may get boring after a while but I‘m actually really looking forward to see these being painted blue, don‘t think I have ever seen a Republic branded Bridgeport, with the buyout of Randys, I think this is the first time Republic will own any piece of Bridgeport equipment cause I don‘t think they have ever own one, or even a ABC in that matter of fact. I‘m surprised WM still has the old Garbage Man Labrie, I quite like this units, especially cause they are single axle, don‘t see that often in the US. Nothing too special about the Curbside Autoreach, just wanted to say that I‘m a big fan of orange colored trucks. maybe because so many municipalities here in Germany have orange garbage trucks :P Cool to see the Highland Wayne Titan making a appearance in this compilation too, I think your video was actually the first time I got to witness a Wayne FL in action, not many of them getting around, especially not in MN. Quite liked the Aspen Heil RL, I think it is very cool to see a company mounting all their trucks on conventionals, don‘t see that too often. The Tennis Autocar Heil 7000 that followed was pretty cool to watch too, looks like it has been refurbished not too long ago, always great to see a company holding onto their older trucks and refurbishing them instead of buying new ones. The WM Curotto at 23:29 was cool to watch, I thought they only did YW though? Man, that Nitti Heil at 24:07 sure is crusty and rusty, what is the story with the still visible Garbage Man signage, I thought WM bought Garbage Man? Pretty cool to see on old Veolia truck at 24:44, I‘m curios to what WM is gonna do since a big chunk of Advances fleet is left hand online and as far as I know, WM wants drivers of SL to drive on the right. Looks like the Pac Techs aren‘t too good with grabbing 30G Cascades, as seem at 28:40, good thing the Pac Tech arm doesn‘t slam the bins into the hopper, otherwise, they would‘ve probably fallen in. Another thing I noticed is that the WM Pac-Techs don’t have the storage compartment with the roll up doors in the body, is that a feature that Pac-Techs only added on later, cause as far as I remember these where the first two Pac-Techs. The Buckingham 7000 that followed looks freshly painted, was that the ex-Tennis unit and they decided to repaint it? To be honest, when the clip at 31:19 started, for a split second I thought this was filmed somewhere in the UK. I can understand you guys in America don‘t like the cab because it doesn‘t fit too most American bodies and looks vastly different to the chassis you have but I think for a rear loader chassis, it is quite good, otherwise it wouldn‘t be as popular in Europe, although I gotta agree, it probably looks shit on a SL or FL. It really is a rear loader chassis and is designed for rear loaders, even in Europe no one uses them on a SL or FL. They are quite a good chassis on rear loaders, from what I have heard, they are supposed to be very comfortable, great visibility and it is low entry. As for the body, I quite like it, especially the green blade (although that probably won‘t stay green for long lol), it looks a nearly identical to a McNeilus, I wonder when the lawsuit is going to happen =). Another fav in this video has to be the Tennis Lodal, I‘m a big fan of Lodals and it looks really good in Tennis colors. One thing I always think about is the size of these Lodals, they just look so small, do you know how much you can get into them? Great to see you also included one of Minneapolis Loadmasters, like I said above, these auto tippers reminds me so much of the way we do it here in Europe. That WM Autoreach that followed was pretty cool too, had a good sound to it but I‘m sure it could use a wash 😂. While watching the video a second time to write the comment, I noticed the words „Turkey Truck“ on the Vierkant New Way Mamba, I think that is hilarious and there is probably a back story behind this isn‘t it. Last but not least, the WM recycling bin in the clip at 43:47 looks pretty good with the black body instead of the green one, in fact, I think I like this version even better than the normal one, WM should think about distributing these instead of the normal green body recycling cans. I just realized how long this comment is, probably takes the crown for being the longest comment I have written, wasn‘t my intention but I had so much to write about :P, hope you enjoy reading it, would greatly appreciate if you could answer me the few questions. Please excuse me if they are some grammatical mistakes in the comment, believe me, it is hard to write comments like these in a language that is not your mother tongue. I bet a garbage sim would be popular. They have sims for farming, train, mechanic, goat, pigeon dating, bread, sewage company, city sweeping, and even PC building(lol) so why not garbage trucks
Do you have different waste collection operators that only empty ‘their’ bins? So, for example, in a typical suburban street, does the house owner choose which waste collection company they want to use, and that chosen company will only collect the waste bins they own? You don’t have municipal waste collections, whereby all the waste is collected by the same municipal organisation?
Awesome video! Way to start out the video with the truck I've been wanting to see most! Interesting that it's numbered as a commercial truck lol love the green bucket too, sucks they swapped it out for a white one though. The 7000 following that clip was also really cool, sounded great and moved quick. Huge fan of the Pac Tech ASLs too, had no idea there were so many out there! Walter's Curotto at 3:56 is awesome, would love to see more of that! Tim's new ZR (6:40) was nice to see! The Sunshine Pac Tech at 8:16 was another truck I really liked! What else does that company run? First time I recall seeing them on RUclips. SO glad you found the WM one too! Was interesting to see him grab the cart so high at 17:21. Loved the WM Mack Autoreach at 40:45! Would love to see more of that truck for sure. Christmas Card time at 43:52! Props to them for still doing that. Great stuff!
fascinating. McNeilus sanitation trucks are amazing. Hats off to those who still do the manual dumping. Do they have cameras in the dump area to check for non envirormental chemicals or electronics? I also wonder about when they empty dumpsters and what might have human bodies in them.

How heavy can a garbage truck become? The gross vehicle weight at its heaviest and its empty weight also anyone?
Usually around 25 tons they start becoming overweight, but depends on tag axles and length... sometimes you can get overweight permits as well
